| You will never see New York in the same way after this tour. The guide "connects the dots" through stories of individuals, city locations, and "what if" scenarios. It was truly a wonderful time, and we have recommended it to many friends who are traveling to NY. We did other walking tours (through other companies) that were boring and disjointed. This one was undeniably the best. Do this tour. You won't regret it! | ||||||

| The guide was genuinely friendly, the meeting location was easy to find and get to and the tour was really informative. The 2.5 hours was well worth it. We arranged the tour for the day after arrival. It was great to stretch our legs and get a feel for lower Manhattan layout. A lot of information about the Rev War was shared and as we continued our traveling thruout the state we could tie information that was provided us in the tour with other information along our Hudson driving route, into Albany and even so far as the Erie Canal area. | ||||||

| My guide was very knowledgable about the area and the people of the time. It was very interesting to see some of the sites in our history and to learn more about the characters responsible for the founding of our country. If you love history, you will love this tour. I spent 6 days in Manhattan and this tour is probably the highlight of my vacation. | ||||||

| My family and I had an afternoon tour of lower Manhattan that was a semester's worth of learning packed into 3 hours. Amazing, do not miss. How could you waste your time on a crowded noisy tour bus listening to a routine monologue when you could do this? Just be prepared to walk, you'll be happy you did! | ||||||

| I took my history-loving dad on the Rev. War tour this past summer, and though the two of us ended up being the whole group, Karen was an enthusiastic leader, well-versed in every aspect of lower Manhattan during the late-1700s onward. She paints pictures of the local citizens of the time through stories and anecdotes (many of them with names we all recognize on street signs these days), which really helps to make the tour entertaining for a non-history buff like me. As a local, I learned a lot about the city that I'd never known, most obviously what an essential role NYC played during the War -- one that's not always taught in the textbooks. As for my dad, he loved the one-on-one history lesson, and couldn't wait to make like George Washington and head to the Fraunces Tavern, which Karen had pointed out to us, afterward for a celebratory Bloody Mary. | ||||||

| I surpsrised my husband with a little get away recently to NYC which included one of the Patriot Tours. We took the Revolutionary War tour led by Karen. She arrived at the appointed time and place and promptly began the tour. We loved the tour. It was fun, informative and definetly worth the money. As a teacher, I would recommend the tour for any fourth grader or fifth grader in New York State who must take the state exam. Because the tours are small Karen is able to answer questions and tailor the tour to your interest in Revolutionary War history in New York State. For tourists from outside the state, the tour is perfect for understanding New York's importance in the revolution as well as the formation of our nation. She obviously has done her homework and one can see that she enjoys what she is doing. I plan on returning with our 11 and 10 year old sons and some of their friends as fun way to review local, state and national history during the 1700's. In addition, I am looking forward to taking the Civil War Tour. Happy walking. | ||||||

Nice Tour, Less Talking, More Buildings

| Our tour guide was good, very detailed and knowledgable. I learned many new facts about NYC. I was born and raised in NYC and worked downthown for years but never stopped to really look at what was around me. The buildings we saw were amazing, some I didn't even know existed. I am now going to take a more detailed tour of several of the churches we saw on the tour. The only negative was I felt the tour was a little too detailed at times. Otherwise it was informative and fun and I have already recommended it to others. | ||||||

| We took this tour on July 22, and have to give it rave reviews. I booked the tour for myself and my fiance, and another couple, as a present for my fiance's birthday. Both my fiance and my girlfriend are avid Revolutionary War Aficionados; me less so, but enthusiastic. It was informative, fun and our guide (the owner of the company) made it seem at times that we were really IN the New York of the 1700's. We all learned a lot (even the two "sort-of-experts") because there was so much more information that we'd never even heard of. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. We're thinking of taking the Civil War Tour in the fall. And lastly, I will never look at another Duane Reade drugstore without knowing what the names really mean! Thanks so much for a great day! | ||||||

| We all loved our walking tour in NYC. Our only regret is that we had to leave early to catch a plane. So much insight and depth! I am a history buff and still learned a lot. Thanks | ||||||

| The tour guide, Karen, was enthusiastic and informative with well-researched information. The 2 1/2 hour tour actually ended up being a little over 3 hours which was most appreciated. We look forward to taking her Civil War tour of New York City. | ||||||

| Karen was fabulous, it was like going on a tour with a history professor. She knew everything, not just about New York, but about the revolutionary war and how it related to early Manhattan. My husband and I are amateur revolutionary war buffs, but we learned so much on this tour. We highly highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest at all in history. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, was pleasant and friendly. It really was one of the highlights of our New York visit! | ||||||
