| We had a great time on this tour. We learned things about New York /Manhattan that we'd never heard before and it gave us a really interesting perspective on this great city and its rich history. We only had a day to spend in New York so it was probably too much to try to do this tour and other things on the same day. Our kids (ages 11 and 12) were exhausted after two-and-a-half hours of pretty solid walking so we needed recovery time which we hadn't planned on. It would have been nice to leave some of the tidbits out so there would be more time to explore some of the neat sites like Trinity Church and St. Paul's Chapel, as well as Fraunces Tavern. The pictures that the guide brought along were very informative, and her stories and quotes from famous New Yorkers from that time were valuable in illustrating that age. Great tour!! | ||||||

| Karen was a great tour guide, and knew much more than she could cover in a 3 hour tour. The only drawback was that the tour took nearly 3 hours, which was a little long for my kids. | ||||||

| Our guide, Karen, was very knowledgable about the Revolution in NYC. She was also concerned that we all enjoy ourselves. I observed that she found a way to talk with each of us indivdually as we made our way through the tour. The members of our group appreciated her interest in each of us and her concern that we have a good tour. This tour is a great way to spend part of an afternoon seeing lower Manhattan and learning about the early stages of our struggles to become a nation apart from England. | ||||||

| Although we grew up in the New York City area and have been to Manhattan many, many times, this tour really provided a new prespective. Karen's enthusiastic story telling and obvious love of history allowed us to see and feel lower Manhattan as it was in the mid 1800's. The architecture of the period remains in pieces for the trained eye to see...and Karen is good at pointing out what remains and filling in the gaps of what has not survived. Karen's descriptions and stories of the notable people of the time transport you back to that time. This was a most enjoyable 2 1/2 hours. | ||||||

| I very much enjoyed the tour. I appreciated the enthusiasm and knowledge our tour guide possessed and her willingness to share. It was clear she was very enthused about the history of Manhattan in this era. Frankly, the tour set the stage for tour of Manhattan during the week...we were able to relate the different sites we saw to much of the information she shared with us on the tour. It was the highlight of the trip in a city of highlights. I'll take the Civil War tour on the next trip back. Thanks. Bob | ||||||

| I had a very informative and fun afternoon with Karen on her US Revolution Tour of New York last week (apologies for the delay....only just got back!) Karen was friendly and knew her history etc She also made it fun too with many interesting and quirky stories about the lives of characters involved at that time! I learned alot from her and was lucky too in that I was the only visitor on the tour that day so it was even more special and personalised! I would highly recommend this tour and if I had been in New York longer would have taken her Civil War Tour too! Until the next time! Gary Fordham | ||||||

| My family and I have taken many historical tours in different parts of the USA and this by far was one of the best. The reason was that the tour guide, Karen, was not only very knowledgeable but also passionate about history. The tour was listed as taking 2 1/2 hours and actually lasted 3 hours. The 3 hours flew by and we would have enjoyed listening to Karen for another 3 hours. Our 14 year old son said he also enjoyed the tour and learned great a deal. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in American History. | ||||||

| This tour was excellent. We have done a fair amount of reading on the revolutionary era, mostly the current biographies - Adams, Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, Hamilton, but we are by no means scholars. The engaging stories our guide told added greatly to what we already knew. Our guide was able to make the places and events come alive, which is no mean feat in the context of walking through modern day Lower Manhattan in the middle of a work day. She was able to bridge the gap between then and now, giving us a sense of what it was like then and connecting the characters and events to the current scene. But beyond the content, our guide was upbeat, friendly, flexible and a great story teller. While staying largely on her plan, she fielded all questions with good humor and nimbly refocused her presentation to fit the emerging interests of the group. All in all a great experience and over too soon. | ||||||

| Think that New York City cannot satisfy all of our tastes? Think again! If you are esoteric enough in your desire to know about the "Big Apple" during the American Revolution, then Patriot Tours will more than fit your bill. I found that our guide, Karen, effortlessly took us back more than two hundred years, making the City come alive during the uncertain and perilous times of our nation. The best part is that while the Tour guides you through the streets of lower Manhattan, your questions will decide and modify the course of your education, for apparently the knowledge of our guide is so vast that she can entertain any type of question that is of interest to you. In that sense, every tour is custom made according to it's participants and this is not a rote, by-the-numbers experience. Karen's supple mind and contagious enthusiasm make the two and a half hours fly by and I'm ready to do it again, with different questions! | ||||||

| Karen was great! She was so knowledgeable. She did a wonderful job of communicating a vast amount of information in such a fun and memorable way.We learned more on this tour than any we have ever taken. This tour was definitely more that we expected. We saw more sights, more architecture, and heard more about the history of New York than we had anticipated. We absolutely loved it and we have already recommended it to many people. Thanks so much! | ||||||

| Good Tour! Tour leader was very well informed and presented the information well. She also knew a great deal about the architecture or the buildings in the area. We had a very small group so we were able to ask questions. She was able to give us a good picture of what lower Manhattan was like at the time of the Revolutionary War. The only drawback was ending the tour quite a distance from the starting point. I would recommend the tour to anyone interested in history and to seeing the island from a slightly different perspective. I was also quite surprised that the guide didn't ask for a tip at the end of the tour, very classy!. Well done. | ||||||

| I learned so much on this tour. I am taking a class on the History of New York City and this was so much better than any textbook. The guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly reccommend this tour to anyone who would like to get to know the city better. | ||||||
