| Our Civil War guide would probably enjoy some of the walking tours offered in Charleston, SC. Civil War was not all about slavery. States and individual rights very much a part of the conflict, as was (is) the propensity of Northern Protestant clergy to know best for all. On the whole, we enjoyed our tour. | Karen captivated us with the Revolutionary War tour last year, so we were eager to return for the Civil War version. We were not disappointed! Her passion for history is evident in her preparation and in her enthusiasm. | ||||||

| Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusastic about New York, the revolutionary period and the going ons of the period. She had pictures which helped to paint a picture of life back then and the physical layout of the city. The stories were great and they cemented an insight into a very important period in American and New York City history. We highly recommend it | ||||||

| WOW! Karen was truly amazing. My parents and I had looked so forward to learning about lower manhattan and Karen exceeded our high expectations. She knows her history, but also how to tell a wonderful story. The tour was relaxed yet we covered so much area, both in history and walking. I have already told friends about this tour. I think it should be a required event for anyone visiting the area. | ||||||

| Our guide brought brightness to a grey, rainy NY day. No recitations from a standard tour book here; she had researched and constructed the history stories in an informative and interesting way, suitable for all age groups and backgrounds. My family group came from CA, SC and CT, and as we returned to my home via the Metro-North train, we told all the "peak time" commuters arround us about the fascinating day we spent in our Lower Manhattan neighborhood. I will take the Civil War tour at my earliest opportunity! | ||||||

| Just returned from New York where we had a fabulous tour with Patriot Tours. Can't recommend it highly enough. The guide was one of the most knowledgeable I've seen. She not only really knew her history but knew how to bring it to life for us. My daughter and I both loved it and highly recommend both the tour and the tour guide. They were both fabulous! | You will never see New York in the same way after this tour. The guide "connects the dots" through stories of individuals, city locations, and "what if" scenarios. It was truly a wonderful time, and we have recommended it to many friends who are traveling to NY. We did other walking tours (through other companies) that were boring and disjointed. This one was undeniably the best. Do this tour. You won't regret it! | ||||||

| The guide was genuinely friendly, the meeting location was easy to find and get to and the tour was really informative. The 2.5 hours was well worth it. We arranged the tour for the day after arrival. It was great to stretch our legs and get a feel for lower Manhattan layout. A lot of information about the Rev War was shared and as we continued our traveling thruout the state we could tie information that was provided us in the tour with other information along our Hudson driving route, into Albany and even so far as the Erie Canal area. | ||||||

Nice Tour, Less Talking, More Buildings

| Our tour guide was good, very detailed and knowledgable. I learned many new facts about NYC. I was born and raised in NYC and worked downthown for years but never stopped to really look at what was around me. The buildings we saw were amazing, some I didn't even know existed. I am now going to take a more detailed tour of several of the churches we saw on the tour. The only negative was I felt the tour was a little too detailed at times. Otherwise it was informative and fun and I have already recommended it to others. | ||||||

| The tour guide, Karen, was enthusiastic and informative with well-researched information. The 2 1/2 hour tour actually ended up being a little over 3 hours which was most appreciated. We look forward to taking her Civil War tour of New York City. | ||||||

| Karen was fabulous, it was like going on a tour with a history professor. She knew everything, not just about New York, but about the revolutionary war and how it related to early Manhattan. My husband and I are amateur revolutionary war buffs, but we learned so much on this tour. We highly highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest at all in history. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, was pleasant and friendly. It really was one of the highlights of our New York visit! | ||||||

| Our guide, Karen, was very knowledgable about the Revolution in NYC. She was also concerned that we all enjoy ourselves. I observed that she found a way to talk with each of us indivdually as we made our way through the tour. The members of our group appreciated her interest in each of us and her concern that we have a good tour. This tour is a great way to spend part of an afternoon seeing lower Manhattan and learning about the early stages of our struggles to become a nation apart from England. | ||||||
