Interesting historical accounts in real settings

Enthusiastic guide, small group, good pace with lots of fascinating insights and information. Our group of 3 US citizens and 4 UK tourists made the subject matter of the tour even more interesting. Plenty of time for questions and a very personalised experience throughout. Would certainly recommend Partriot Tours to domestic and international visitors alike.

What a wonderful way to spend the 4th of July weekend than walking the actual streets and learning the history that played such an important role in the birth of our nation. Our guide was incredible, she made her stories come alive. Probably one of the best walking tours I’ve taken, and living in the Nation’s capital, I can honestly say I’ve been on a few. A must-do while in NYC.

My husband & I were surprised to be the only ones on the tour. Karen was informative, personable & enthusiastic. We really enjoyed the time we spent together & feel we learned a lot. She had a wealth of information & not a drop of it boring. Thankyou for a lovely time.

Exceeded Expectations

The tour guide from Patriot Tours was extremely good at what she did. She made history come alive for us as we walked among the many sites NYC has from the Revolutionary War. It was a cold and rainy day in June so she also tried to spend as much time as possible inside buildings (such as Saint Paul's Cathedral) to allow us to warm up between jaunts. I would whole-heartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see a side of New York City you won't get from a tour bus.

Time well spent

There were 6 of us on the tour. - three middle-aged adults, two seniors, and one 8 year old. We all found it extremely interesting, and took away different highlights. The tour guide is clearly knowledgeable, and can tailor the content to the interests of the participants. She is enthusiastic and clearly happy to answer any questions before, during or even after the tour. There were lots of great stories about the individuals who helped shape this country. This is also a very good value for the cost.

This is a fantastic tour -- it allowed us to learn historical information that we had never known before. Our tour guide was unbelievably educated about the topic and has trained herself so thoroughly. Her antecdotes made the Revolutionary era come alive to us. Perfect group size with 9 guests. We would highly recommend this tour and would definitely use Patriot Tours again.

I really enjoyed the recent tour I took of Revolutionary New York. The tour guide, Karen, was a bevy of knowledge and enthusiasm. Very well informed and proud to be an American and a New-Yorker. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Laura E. Toronto, Canada

Great way to look at Manhattan!

My parents, husband and I had a wonderful experience on our walking tour! Our tour guide was fantastic and full of great stories. We were all really engaged for the full two and a half hours and then continued our discussion with lunch at Francues Tavern and a trip to the museum at the Tavern. I have lived in New York City for over five years and have even served as a tour guide of Lower Manhattan in past occupations, and still came away with new stories about places and people. This is a great thing to do with visiting relatives!

Nice Change of Pace

The Civil War Walking Tour was very enjoyable and informative. The guide was articulate and knowledgeable, and our group was small. It was a nice change of pace from the normal touristy things to do in New York like riding the double-decker tourist buses. I would rate the tour even higher for history buffs.

Great Tour!

We were looking for a walking tour that covered a rarely detailed part of Manhattan, the Civil War period. We were particularly interested in the rise and fall of the Five Points area. Our guide, Karen, was on time and armed with articles and pictures describing the time period. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. All important points were covered and highlighted with facts, figures and delicious gossip. From world renowned monuments to obscure spots, Karen covered them all with the passion of a person who loves the history of this amazing metropolis. This was truly a great way to spend a couple of hours learning and being amazed. I can't wait to go back for the Revolutionary War tour. Without a doubt one of the best entertainment investments you can make in the entertainment capital of the world.

My time with Karen was well spent as we walked through downtown Manhattan, rich with history. All the stories, anecdotes and descriptions were finely detailed. I was especially pleased with the period cartoons that helped reinforce the emotion and conflicting opinions. This was a rare treat for those who appreciate the Civil War and the great ironies involved. There is so much to learn that we never hear of in traditional forums and public education. Truly an eye-opening experience and one not soon forgotten. I highly recommend it and consider is comparable to a crash course in New York history.
