| I highly recommend this tour. The tourguide was enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable. I really got a feel for the time through her stories that she told as we walked between the landmarks and historical sites. I also really liked the pictures that she carried - they helped me to visualize the era. | ||||||

| The tour far exceeded my expectations. Karen, the guide, had a vast storehouse of knowledge about the topic, answered questions readily, and took the time to explain things. She cross-referenced several sites that we would see the following day on the Revolutionary War tour. Clearly, she continues to build upon her knowledge by researching historical documents and sites to learn as much as she can on the subject matter. The two hours passed quickly and as we left, we were anticipating what we might learn the next day's tour. | ||||||

| A great guide can make anything interesting. Karen was truly great, and the subject matter is highly interesting as well. So the tour was truly memorable! The tour covers New York from its founding through the birth of the nation. New York played such an important role! Fascinating stuff to be sure. I recommend listen to McCollough's audiobook "1776" before this tour to give additional context. Enjoy! | ||||||

| Karen's knowledge of the Revolutionary Era made you feel as if she had lived this Era. She provided the information as if she were telling a cohesive story of the time. My husband and I would definitely take another one of her tours.. | ||||||

| The tour and information were great, and the guide was very knowledgeable, but it was 'all business' without thought to human needs--the walking tour lasted 3, not 2 hours, with no mention of where there were opportunities for restroom breaks. It would be very easy to add to the intro, there will be X opportunities for restroom breaks, once at the first church, second...and then tell folks where the facilities, bus, etc. are in relation to the spot where we ended. It would also be nice to have a map for each participant with the walking route & key sites noted. | ||||||

| I was very encouraged when I read that there was so much history in New York, and realized that there was much I did not know. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and energetic, and organized her tour as more of a "storytelling" experieince. Which made it interesting, easy to follow and understand. Walking through the streets as she shared the sights and stories of that time in history helped you visualize what it was like back then and how important the events were to forming the country. I was fortunate in the fact that there were only 2 of us on the group that day, so it was very personalized. Our tour guide encouraged questions, and keep us going at a comfortable pace. The time just saled by. Also, our guide spent some time at the end of our tour giving us some tips and suggestions that we might enjoy while in the city, which was very kind. Overall, I would recommend this tour....history buff or not. It is interesting to see NY through the "Revolutionary Years", because it gives you a more vast perspective and view of the city which helps you appreciate it's contribution and how it helped shape our nation. | ||||||

| On a quick family visit to NYC we had a free afternoon that could have been spent inside a museum but we tried a Patriot walking tour instead. Even with a bit of a drizzle we were so glad to be outside and learning about the history of the city in and around Battery Park and Wall St. Karen regaled us with stories of New Yorkers during the Civil War in great and entertaining detail. We now can go back and explore even more on our own. We're looking forward to booking another of Karen's original and insightful tours! | ||||||

| I have had a deep seated interest in the Civil War for some 45 years. My wife and I love New York. This was our third visit in the past 7 years. I was intrigued by the tour knowing that the Confederates did not get further north than Gettysburg. The tour provided a fascinating insight into the history and also to present day New York. Karen was an enthusiastic and knowlegable guide. I learnt a great deal and throughly enjoyed my trip. My wife was also throughly entertained and said that if Karen had been her history teacher, she would have taken a much greater interest! It was a compelling and informative two hours which was also totally entertaining | ||||||

| If you like American History, this is an excellent tour. My guide made me feel like I was back in the 1700's, an amazing accomplishment on a weekday, in lower Manhattan. | ||||||
