Great tour!

A very knowledgeable guide made our tour extremely informative. Personalized to our interests and knowledge on the topic as well. Our guide was very pleasant and made it interesting despite sprinkles of rain. We kept moving and saw a great deal. Well worth it.

Karen was a great guide of lower Manhattan. She is very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the subject. I am looking forward to returning to NYC and taking her architecture tour sometime in the future.

Our tour was one of the highlights of my first trip to New York City. It was well planned, and very interesting. Our guide made the revolutionary history come alive. It gave us a very different view of a very busy and modern city, and allowed us the time to appreciate the beauty of historical Manhattan. I would highly recommend this walking tour and in fact already have.

A MUST DO ACTIVITY!

Our guide was so very knowledgeable of the Revolutionary War and the involvement of the local citizens in the era before, during and after the War. She helped us picture how the area would have looked at that time and how that affected the local battles. Our guide really transported us back in time. We enjoyed the personal attention and I am not even sure how many blocks we walked but it was not difficult at all.

Karen was a great guide. She has done lots of research about the Revolutionary War era in NYC and tells stories in an interesting and personalized way. Many times we felt as though we were hearing the actual words of the men she was speaking about. I would recommend her highly and go on the architectural tour she said she was planning to start giving soon.

I could not believe how much History that our tour guide Karen knew. I advise every one who goes to New York to take this tour. I am an American History teacher and I was amazed at how much I learned.

A different historical context.
Tue, Jun 23  1:00 PM scottatshack Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
The stories and information brought a little more to the table than what we are taught in school. It is interesting to listen to how things have not changed politically or how little we have learned from our own history. It would be great if we had someone like Washington who only cared about the success of the country and not about his own ability to get elected. Someone who would be honest and not spend all his time telling us what he thinks we want to hear.

Very experienced, knowledgeable,and friendly guide

Since it was just two of us on this tour, our guide was most amenable to being flexible and varying the regular tour of the area to incorporate interesting architecture which was our particular interest. The guide was able to answer in-depth questions posed by us. She had a relaxed and friendly manner. The pace of the tour was appropriate to our ages and we had time to take photos along the route.

The walk is easy walking, not stressful and entertaining / educational. Our tour guide was very friendly, open to all sorts of questions and an excellent listener and speaker.

Passionate About History
Fri, Jul 3  1:00 PM Tsquared Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
It's such a joy to witness someone as passionate about history as Karen. Also, she is quite knowledgeable of all the various factors which lead to the War Between the States. This is most refreshing to hear as the current simplistic version equates South with bad and North with good. Her tour is quite a bit more invigorating than the usual two hours spent combing a museum.
