| Excellent tour of Manhattan during the Revolutionary War period. The guide was very informative with details about the locations and events that built up during the war. Not to mention many unknown people and facts surounding the events before the war began. A must for American History buffs or time travelers. Very well done, you will enjoy an excellent learning experience. Thank You Again. | ||||||

| Our tour guide, Karen, made history come alive with events people and places along the tour. Karen's excitement and love for the topic spilled over to us, making the tour interesting and informative. We had watched DVD Disc 1 of the Ric Burns PBS series on New York, and so we wanted to actually see where the events took place. However, watching this program is not necessary, because Karen is able to guide the tour at any level from novice to highly knowledgeable and tailor the experience to the audience. We would do the tour again, and we highly recommend it for those interested in the history of New York and it's role in the development of the USA. | ||||||

| The guide provided lots of historical facts about events during our Revolutionary era in New York. It has caused me to make many notes after the tour, and I'm following up by reading, in more detail, about the events and individuals from that time period. I'm looking forward to taking other tours during my subsequent visits to New York... | ||||||

| Karen the tour leader was excellently prepared and informed. It would be interesting to know how she prepared the tour. Is she a professional historian? She knew all sorts of historical detail about New York's role in the events of the Reveolutionary Era, and had made copies to pass around of a number of documents from the period. There were only six of us on the tour, which made asking questions possible, and made it possible to keep the group together and close enough to hear her-- which might have been much more difficult if the group had been 12 or 15. It was a hot August afternoon, and our interest flagged a bit in the last 1/2 hour, but ...we had another appointment to make in 20 minutes, and we had already walked a mile or two just before starting-- and many miles the day before, so it's possible that if we were fresh the tour would have seemed just the right length. Fortunately another couple whispered to us that tips would no doubt be welcome, since we might not have thought of that on our own, but we quite willingly pressed $10 into her hand while shaking hands goodbye. It's advertised as rain or shine, but it's hard to see how it could have proceeded in cold or rainy weather. | ||||||

| It's such a joy to witness someone as passionate about history as Karen. Also, she is quite knowledgeable of all the various factors which lead to the War Between the States. This is most refreshing to hear as the current simplistic version equates South with bad and North with good. Her tour is quite a bit more invigorating than the usual two hours spent combing a museum. | ||||||

| We were completely impressed with this knowledgable tour guide. We learned many things and covered an extensive area. The stories came alive for us as she described the historic scenes at each stop along the tour. We would definitely do a Patriot Tour again on our next visit to New York. | ||||||

| Karen is as charming as she is knowledgeable about the American Revolution and the decades leading up to it. I went in with extremely high expectations and they were -- every one of them -- exceeded. I cannot recommend this tour too highly. | ||||||

| You will never see New York in the same way after this tour. The guide "connects the dots" through stories of individuals, city locations, and "what if" scenarios. It was truly a wonderful time, and we have recommended it to many friends who are traveling to NY. We did other walking tours (through other companies) that were boring and disjointed. This one was undeniably the best. Do this tour. You won't regret it! | ||||||

| First, you must enjoy a little history to enjoy this event. I am not a historian nor am I a great student of history, but I did find this to be one of the most interesting strolls through the history of New York that I have every had. It was fascinating and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about that which she spoke. I found the entire tour exciting. Never once was I "bored" There were many colorful and descriptive stories about the founders, residents and other historical persons of New York. The tour gave us a good understanding about why and how New York became the city it is today. I would highly recommend the walking tour on just about any day of the Spring and Fall. We took the tour in January and it was a little cold. Even so, we were not too disturb by the weather. I could see the summertime being a little challenging for some, also. However, it is a great historical walking tour with many interesting stories that will delight and enlighten everyone. | ||||||

| We went on a cold December morning, but the three hour tour seemed to go by too quickly, that's how enjoyable it was. We learned so much. Our guide was super-knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and very friendly. I look forward to taking tours from her again when i'm back in NYC. tom - Atlanta | ||||||

| Our tour guide Karen was a weath of information concerning historical events that happened in New York and the surrounding areas. If you enjoy history, especially the colonial and American Revolution era, this is a must do tour. We learned so much in just 2 1/2 hours. We were able to see many historical places in Lower Manhattan. Karen is constantly researching to add more information to the tour. She is able to present a lot of interesting, unique tidbits of information that make the 2 1/2 hours fly by. We hope to get back to New York someday and take the tour again. | ||||||

| Karen captivated us with the Revolutionary War tour last year, so we were eager to return for the Civil War version. We were not disappointed! Her passion for history is evident in her preparation and in her enthusiasm. | ||||||
