My sister and I took this tour during my recent visit to NYC. During a beautiful springlike day; we learned so much about a city we thought we knew. The pace was perfect. Karen could not only share the local history and show you the place but you almost felt like you could see it. Highly recommended. I plan on taking a different tour with the same company the next time I visit.

Really enjoyed tour, just long enough and detailed enough to be enjoyable. Not too long to be boring. It was a birthday gift to a friend who loves George Washington and the Revolutionary period. She enoyed it thoroughly and thought I was very creative with my gift

Highlight of Our New York Trip

Although we had a chilly, damp, and windy day, our Revolutionary Era tour was the highlight of our visit to New York City! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. Her remarks were interesting, and she carried sketches and maps that helped us understand what the city was like in the late 18th century. It was apparent that she is very well-read on the history of the area, and she had very informative answers to our questions. She was very professional, but also personable, warm and friendly. We highly recommend this tour, and we plan to return for similar tours whenever we are in New York. Thank you for this outstanding experience!

Great Tour!

We were looking for a walking tour that covered a rarely detailed part of Manhattan, the Civil War period. We were particularly interested in the rise and fall of the Five Points area. Our guide, Karen, was on time and armed with articles and pictures describing the time period. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. All important points were covered and highlighted with facts, figures and delicious gossip. From world renowned monuments to obscure spots, Karen covered them all with the passion of a person who loves the history of this amazing metropolis. This was truly a great way to spend a couple of hours learning and being amazed. I can't wait to go back for the Revolutionary War tour. Without a doubt one of the best entertainment investments you can make in the entertainment capital of the world.

My time with Karen was well spent as we walked through downtown Manhattan, rich with history. All the stories, anecdotes and descriptions were finely detailed. I was especially pleased with the period cartoons that helped reinforce the emotion and conflicting opinions. This was a rare treat for those who appreciate the Civil War and the great ironies involved. There is so much to learn that we never hear of in traditional forums and public education. Truly an eye-opening experience and one not soon forgotten. I highly recommend it and consider is comparable to a crash course in New York history.

My boyfriend and I scheduled this tour on a whim. It was so much fun. Even if you aren't a huge history buff (like we both are), it is still very interesting and enjoyable. Our guide did a great job of finding out the interests of the group and incorporating it into the tour. I can't wait to try another one next time we're in NYC!

First, let me comment that the tour guide, Karen is great. We meant to book the Patriot Tour for Friday but accidentally booked it for Saturday. I called her Friday morning and she said she'd be happy to run the tour on Friday afternoon, despite the fact that we ended up being the only ones on the tour. Of course, as a result of that, we got effectively a private tour and it was great. Karen was very knowledgeable, made the people and the places from the late 18th and early 19th centuries really come alive. She answered questions and provided great insight into many people you don't hear as much about in the history books. It had a truly personal feel. I know I am looking forward to returning to NYC, if only to try one of Karen's other tours.
