| The walking tour was more of a narrow history lecture, and less walking and pointing out actual historical information. | ||||||

| Karen was a great guide. She has done lots of research about the Revolutionary War era in NYC and tells stories in an interesting and personalized way. Many times we felt as though we were hearing the actual words of the men she was speaking about. I would recommend her highly and go on the architectural tour she said she was planning to start giving soon. | ||||||

| Our tour was one of the highlights of my first trip to New York City. It was well planned, and very interesting. Our guide made the revolutionary history come alive. It gave us a very different view of a very busy and modern city, and allowed us the time to appreciate the beauty of historical Manhattan. I would highly recommend this walking tour and in fact already have. | ||||||

| My wife and I took this tour on May 13th. Our guide was very personable and approachable. She made us the center of her attention and was open to any questions, even if they didn't pertain to the current topic. Very warm personality and told about places and events with energy to keep it interesting. You can tell she enjoys what she does and we look forward to taking another historic walking tour on our next visit to NYC in 2010. | ||||||

| Both my son (25 and working in NYC) and I (his visiting mom) really enjoyed this tour. Karen brought alive Lower Manhattan during the Revolutionary War and the years not only leading up to it, but the years of Dutch settlement as well. Now I know that Water Street was so named because it was once a shore line street and Pearl Street got it's name because oyster shells were harvested along its shore. And Wall Street ... well, you can guess. Go take the tour and enjoy! | ||||||

| This walking tour of lower Manhattan is rich with stories and details about the area's Revolutionary history. The guide brings to life many of the people and events that were so central to the birth of our country. The walk is well-researched and presented by a guide who clearly loves what she does. | ||||||

| Excellent tour of Manhattan during the Revolutionary War period. The guide was very informative with details about the locations and events that built up during the war. Not to mention many unknown people and facts surounding the events before the war began. A must for American History buffs or time travelers. Very well done, you will enjoy an excellent learning experience. Thank You Again. | ||||||

| This was a most fascinating tour conducted by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Not only did we see the sights and experience the sounds of New York but we learned many interesting facts about the revolutionary era. My wife and I are native New Yorkers, raised in Queens, who attended High School in Manhattan. But our tour guide had many stories to tell us that we did not know. She answered all our questions and brought history to life. We would recommend this tour most highly. | ||||||

| My sister and I, who are in our mid fifties and early sixties, debated whether or not we could physically endure the walking involved in this tour. After careful consideration we decided to give it a try thinking we could always drop out if it proved too much for us. We were both very glad that we took the chance. Our group guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting. She enlivened the historical facts with stories of real humans who either struggled and yearned for independence or struggled to support the system and crown they loved. We on the other hand had our own struggles. We had been in New York for three days prior to your tour and had done a great deal of sightseeing so were already very tired. Your web site cautioned to arrive on time or the tour guide would start the tour without us. We were a few minutes early for the tour. However, our tour guide waited about thirty minutes for another person who had signed up for the tour just that morning. We had booked our tickets weeks in advance. The 30 minutes we stood waiting on this person made it very difficult for us to complete the tour. We did complete it but it was a struggle and we did not enjoy it as much as we could have. The guide even made a comment that this person was behaving in a selfish way to expect everyone to wait for her but she waited nevertheless. We would have enjoyed the tour much more if we had been able to leave on time and not stand around sapping our already limited strength. | ||||||

| Pleasant and informative tour led by a polite, prepared, and knowledgable guide. I was part of a small group, which allowed for frequent interaction between attendees and guide. A nice mix of topics were dicussed including street life, architecture, landfill history, local biographies, treatment of prisoners, and escape tactics from Brooklyn Heights. All my questions and comments were addressed quite satisfactorily. Enthusiastically recommended! | ||||||

| I may have known at one time but certainly forgot the important role of NYC in our history and the Revolutionary War. This tour jogs your memory with forgotten names, dates and events with the added benefit of being on the spot or near where it happened. Events come alive amid the hustle/bustle of NY. Karen is an excellent guide; able to answer all the questions and keep to the subject. One thing I realized from this and two other walking tours I took is the enormous pride New Yorkers have in their city and its history. | ||||||

| As educators and historians from Illinois in NYC for the OAH (Organization of American Historians) annual conference, we had booked the Revolutionary Era Walking Tour on a whim, thinking it would be interesting to experience historic lower Manhattan. Our guide was incredible! Full of wonderful anecdotes and fantastic with facts, characters and events, Karen led us on a three-hour journey back in time. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to take the Civil War tour she was offering the next day!! We will have to go back for that!! | ||||||

| The guide was very knowledgeable, with documents and pictures to back up her material. She obviously loved her subject and she made the time period come to life. She should write a book about New York during the Revolutionary period! | ||||||
