| First, you must enjoy a little history to enjoy this event. I am not a historian nor am I a great student of history, but I did find this to be one of the most interesting strolls through the history of New York that I have every had. It was fascinating and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about that which she spoke. I found the entire tour exciting. Never once was I "bored" There were many colorful and descriptive stories about the founders, residents and other historical persons of New York. The tour gave us a good understanding about why and how New York became the city it is today. I would highly recommend the walking tour on just about any day of the Spring and Fall. We took the tour in January and it was a little cold. Even so, we were not too disturb by the weather. I could see the summertime being a little challenging for some, also. However, it is a great historical walking tour with many interesting stories that will delight and enlighten everyone. | ||||||

| The guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the subject, with the use of some copies of original maps and documents showing the amount of work and effort put into the tour. An interesting subject brought to life with a guide who was open to all questions about the general area as well as the topic itself. | ||||||

| I had my step-father in town, who is interested in history and likes a walk. Having similar interests myself, I thought the Revolutionary Era Walking Tour would fit the bill. I've taken tours in other towns, for similar reasons - it's a good way to get a different view than most guide books could or would give you. So much, however, depends on the person presenting the tour - their knowledge and enthusiasm. I was both pleasantly surprised and very happy with the tour, the depth of knowledge and ability and willingness to present the information that was consistently displayed. I'd recommend this to anyone interested - and plan on taking another tour offered, such as the Civil War Era tour - when the time presents itself. | ||||||

| I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting NYC. I enjoyed 100% of the tour and learned so much! I've been on great walking tours in other cities like London, but this was by far the best of its kind. I look forward to your Civil War tour next time I'm in the City. Thanks again, Yoni N., Rehovot, Israel. | ||||||

| We come from Australia and don't know all the history that amercians have of their own country however our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative in explaining various details. I would recommend the tour to anyone. It was an easy pace so no problem for anyone to keep up. The guide knew her subject very well and even when we finished down at Battery Park, she stayed and spoke to a few remaining for another 15-20 minutes. I would do the tour agin in a few years time as it was a great way to really understand the histroy of the area and I am sure there will be more information next time. | ||||||

| Karen was a knowledgable and passionate tour leader. She was outstanding!! She went past time with our permission because of her passion for the topic and her desire for us to learn as much as we could. She knew her field and covered it in a way helpful for a novice. While I'm a history buff, my wife is not and my wife learned a great deal and thoroughly enjoyed Karen. The revolutionary war tour of lower Manhattan was tremendous. I'd recommend it to anyone. | Karen the tour leader was excellently prepared and informed. It would be interesting to know how she prepared the tour. Is she a professional historian? She knew all sorts of historical detail about New York's role in the events of the Reveolutionary Era, and had made copies to pass around of a number of documents from the period. There were only six of us on the tour, which made asking questions possible, and made it possible to keep the group together and close enough to hear her-- which might have been much more difficult if the group had been 12 or 15. It was a hot August afternoon, and our interest flagged a bit in the last 1/2 hour, but ...we had another appointment to make in 20 minutes, and we had already walked a mile or two just before starting-- and many miles the day before, so it's possible that if we were fresh the tour would have seemed just the right length. Fortunately another couple whispered to us that tips would no doubt be welcome, since we might not have thought of that on our own, but we quite willingly pressed $10 into her hand while shaking hands goodbye. It's advertised as rain or shine, but it's hard to see how it could have proceeded in cold or rainy weather. | ||||||
