| Still on vacation, so not spending much time on this. The tour guide has a firm grasp of the politics of the time, as well as the importance of each location we visited. | ||||||

| It was a very warm afternoon in Manhattan but my husband and I didn't let that interfere with this tour. He's a history buff; I'm a history novice. Our tourguide, Karen, was phenomenal! It was obvious she had done a lot of research of that era and New York City. She had so many stories and pictures and her passion for the history was evident in the tour she conducted. I was riveted! We had a great group of 14 people from all over and yes, it was hot, but there are sidewalk stands around the area where you can purchase water. We walked from City Hall down to Battery Park and she gave us so much fascinating information about the area, the buildings, the history. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys walking the city (it was not physically challenging, a nice pace) and even if you think you are not a history buff, you will become one because of this tour. It was fantastic! And well worth the price! It was hard to believe that over two hours had passed because of how interesting Karen made this tour. Don't pass this up! | ||||||

| Coming from San Francisco, we just don't have the same kind of "old" as New York City, so we especially enjoyed finding out about the early days of Manhatten and our nation. The walk was thorough but not too strenuous. I liked being on the streets rather than just seeing things from a bus window. Our guide provided great insights and obviously knows her stuff. One thing that I would have appreciated was some pointing out of other sites that we passed along the way (the NY Stock Exchange, that bull sculpture, Ground Zero). Of course, I am sure it is hard to stick to the point of the Rev War with centuries of history in every block! All-in-all, the tour was good and I recommend it. Because of the tour, our 12 year old has a much better sense of how people were living in those days -- and what it meant to be an occupied land -- than he could ever get from a book. | ||||||

| My wife and I took this tour on a somewhat cold and blustery day, but the time just flew by for us. My wife had just read 1776 by David McCullough so she was very interested in this tour and she was not at all disappointed. The tour was small and they do prefer to keep them small. The sites we saw were very well planned out and the story was well thought through and extremely informative. We did not spend much time in the sites which is fine because it's much more important to hear more interesting details from the guide. We went back to several sites the next day. Certainly, the best part was the knowledge and enthusiasm of the tour guide. I would recommend this tour to any with an interest in our country's history. | ||||||

| Very interesting tour. Karen described the history so you could picture in your mind how the area looked. We learned about many real people from that area and it made the history come alive. Looking forward to her history of the achitecture of NY tour! She has done hours of research and really knows her stuff. | ||||||

| We took the tour with another family and thoughly enjoyed experience. Our guide was very interesting and really knew her stuff. We had no idea how much of a role NYC played in the Revolutionary War. Our guide was very tough it was cold, windy with freezing rain but she keep going and made the best of the very bad weather. Overall very good. | ||||||

| The stories and information brought a little more to the table than what we are taught in school. It is interesting to listen to how things have not changed politically or how little we have learned from our own history. It would be great if we had someone like Washington who only cared about the success of the country and not about his own ability to get elected. Someone who would be honest and not spend all his time telling us what he thinks we want to hear. | ||||||

| Pleasant and informative tour led by a polite, prepared, and knowledgable guide. I was part of a small group, which allowed for frequent interaction between attendees and guide. A nice mix of topics were dicussed including street life, architecture, landfill history, local biographies, treatment of prisoners, and escape tactics from Brooklyn Heights. All my questions and comments were addressed quite satisfactorily. Enthusiastically recommended! | ||||||

| Our tour was one of the highlights of my first trip to New York City. It was well planned, and very interesting. Our guide made the revolutionary history come alive. It gave us a very different view of a very busy and modern city, and allowed us the time to appreciate the beauty of historical Manhattan. I would highly recommend this walking tour and in fact already have. | ||||||

| My husband and I enjoy anything that has to do with history. We took a revoluntionary tour in NYC. The tour was 2 1/2 hours long. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew a great deal. The only bad thing was that the tour was too long...Too many stories so it was confusing at times and to much standing still in "spots were things were". I guess we were expecting more walking and showing of older bulidings or areas where things took place and not enough tidbits and little things that only a guide would know. You know fun facts. I would still use this comapny for future tours, no doubt. I just feel this one was not the best if had been on. | ||||||

| Think that New York City cannot satisfy all of our tastes? Think again! If you are esoteric enough in your desire to know about the "Big Apple" during the American Revolution, then Patriot Tours will more than fit your bill. I found that our guide, Karen, effortlessly took us back more than two hundred years, making the City come alive during the uncertain and perilous times of our nation. The best part is that while the Tour guides you through the streets of lower Manhattan, your questions will decide and modify the course of your education, for apparently the knowledge of our guide is so vast that she can entertain any type of question that is of interest to you. In that sense, every tour is custom made according to it's participants and this is not a rote, by-the-numbers experience. Karen's supple mind and contagious enthusiasm make the two and a half hours fly by and I'm ready to do it again, with different questions! | ||||||

| It was Memorial Day and myself and some friends thought a historical tour would be a great way to learn more about New York City. We live here but we knew that there is so much history that we pass by every day without knowing any better. We hoped the tour would enlighten us and we were not disappointed; it easily surpassed our expectations. The reason was our excellent tour guide, Karen, who did a great job of not only teaching us some of the history of the city, but did it in a way that kept our interest throughout the entire tour. This was largely due to her style of mixing in stories alongside pointing our various buildings and landmarks. I only wish my history classes had been run like this. I probably would have learned a lot more back then if they had. | ||||||
