| Our guide was very personable and did a great job of sharing her knowledge of the events of the Revolutionary War associated with New York. She made the people involved come to life. | ||||||

| I have studied the American Revolution extensively and was absolutely delighted with the tour and my tour guide Karen. I was very impressed not only with her knowledge, but her ability to bring 18th century New York to life out of the concrete jungle which is modern day lower Manhattan. While the tour itself was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable, I was most impressed by Karen's offer to discuss the time period in depth after the tour was over. Due to my almost fanatical interest in the American Founding I had many questions which would have seemed uninteresting to the average tour-goer, but her willingness to discuss the time period on a deeper level with me was the highlight of my trip to New York. | ||||||

| My tour of New York's Revolutionary War sites was completely enjoyable. Karen, the tour leader, was both knowledgeable and entertaining. She made the past filter through the modern hubhub that is a Saturday in Manhattan. I have toured Civil War and Revolutionary battlefields with some of the best guides in the nation, and I would rate this tour up with any of those. You will completely enjoy the experience. | ||||||

| As educators and historians from Illinois in NYC for the OAH (Organization of American Historians) annual conference, we had booked the Revolutionary Era Walking Tour on a whim, thinking it would be interesting to experience historic lower Manhattan. Our guide was incredible! Full of wonderful anecdotes and fantastic with facts, characters and events, Karen led us on a three-hour journey back in time. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to take the Civil War tour she was offering the next day!! We will have to go back for that!! | ||||||

| THIS IS A TOUR I WOULD RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN LEARNING ABOUT THE PLAYERS AND PLACES IN 18TH CENTURY MANHATTAN. YOUR GUIDE MAKES HISTORY COME ALIVE IN AN ENGAGING WAY. THE THREE AND A HALF HOUR WALKING TOUR IS PACKED WITH INFORMATION. WEAR A REALLY COMFORTABLE PAIR OF SHOES AND BRING A CAMERA. ENJOY THE TOUR. | ||||||

| i only went on this tour because my mom (on a revolutionary kick) wanted to, but i ended up learning sooo much! our guide, karen, was such an expert! she talked and kept us interested for 2 and a half hours! i learned so much and so did my mom (who already read a bunch of books on the era). it was a short walk and we stopped several times so it's not hard at all. just don't go when it's too cold or bundle up. very highly recommended!! | ||||||

| The guide was very knowledgeable, with documents and pictures to back up her material. She obviously loved her subject and she made the time period come to life. She should write a book about New York during the Revolutionary period! | ||||||

| My boyfriend and I went on this tour with my parents who are both very interested in American history and we had a wonderful time. I learned so much about NY, even after living here for 8 years, that I wouldn't have known otherwise. I liked it so much I want to sign us up for the Civil War tour the next time we're all in town! Our guide Karen was extraordinary, we all liked her very much and you could tell she is extremely passionate about her love for American history, but she doesn't make you feel at all uncomfortable for asking questions. In fact, she seems grateful to share her passion with others. What more could you ask for from a tour or your guide? I also thought the price was very fair for the amount of information you acquire and for the level of expertise that's shared. I hope others enjoy it as much as we did! | ||||||

| The tour far exceeded my expectations. Karen, the guide, had a vast storehouse of knowledge about the topic, answered questions readily, and took the time to explain things. She cross-referenced several sites that we would see the following day on the Revolutionary War tour. Clearly, she continues to build upon her knowledge by researching historical documents and sites to learn as much as she can on the subject matter. The two hours passed quickly and as we left, we were anticipating what we might learn the next day's tour. | ||||||

| Having already attended the Revolutionary Era tour and loving it, I was unsure what to expect from the Civil War tour. Typically, I don’t think of NYC as being heavily involved with the Civil War, but was pleasantly surprised. The tour guide, Karen, was a delight, and full of historical CW tidbits. I learned info from her that I would probably never have gotten out of a book. It is the small details that help to form a picture in your mind and she is great with that piece. I hope to bring my sons, ages 14 & 11, to both tours in the near future. It was informative and fun to learn and know that they will enjoy the experience as well. | ||||||

| My friend and I attended the Revolutionary War walking tour in the AM; and the Civil War in the PM. We had a great time for both. For the Revolutionary tour, I found the small details discussed and the humor in which the Colonists "debated" interesting and funny at the same time. Seeing the landmarks of important happenings was such a neat thing. So much history happened in New York at this time and seeing it come to life through our guide, Karen, was great. She was funny, knowledgeable, and it was apparent she loved her job. Her enthusiasm for the history was contagious. If you like history, you will love this! Highly recommend! | ||||||

| This is a terrific tour mainly because of the energy and enthusiasm of the tour guide. She is engaged, did a lot or work to get some of the visual aids, and is ready to answer questions. Admittedly many of the original structures are long gone, but the visual aids help. Also sites such as the Cooper Union are too far uptown to be part of the tour. | ||||||
