Tour guide was extremely knowlegable about history. It was a very cold day and we stood for at least a half hour hearing about history of lower N.Y. Felt too long. |

My sister and I took this tour during my recent visit to NYC. During a beautiful springlike day; we
learned so much about a city we thought we knew. The pace was perfect. Karen could not only share
the local history and show you the place but you almost felt like you could see it. Highly recommended.
I plan on taking a different tour with the same company the next time I visit. |

My husband and I took this tour on a not-so-perfect day, weather-wise (light snow and sleet coming down for much of the time), but braving the weather was DEFINITELY worth it to obtain so much valuable and detailed accounts of the history of Revolutionary NYC and its famous (and infamous) inhabitants! (We happened to be the only ones scheduled for that day, probably because of crazy weather). Our personable guide Karen was nothing short of a treasure chest of information -- it would be difficult to find anyone else who had prepared as many fascinating details about events and motives of those involved in events, including those persons who did not want to separate from the rule of their king across "the pond." She was always very willing to answer our questions as we walked, and she impresses upon listeners a GREAT appreciation for the unbelievably difficult and risk-filled task facing those who wanted to begin anew as an independent people. Don't miss this tour if you're a history "junkie," regardless of the time of year you visit! Can't wait to catch the Civil War tour on our next visit. |

This is brilliant - the guide knows so much and has such a passion about her topic. I learnt so much about how NY city came to be the place it is today, and I got to see the historic districts of NYC that I'd never have explored on my own without getting really lost.
Can't recommend highly enough. |

Even with cold temperatures, Karen kept us interested as she told the story of NYC during the Revolutionary era. Karen pointed to sights and showed illustrations what areas looked like then. The next day, my husband and I reviewed what we heard and were pleased that our teen aged daughters caught everything we caught. |

Karen was a knowledgeable tour guide. She provided us with a wealth of information and insight about New York's history and how that history is reflected in many of the most recognizable buildings in the Lower Manhattan district. She was able to answer all our questions, had a great sense of humor, and good pacing. It is a shame it was the coldest day of the year to be walking around; although it didn't stop us, it certainly made the journey slightly less comfortable than it would have been on any other day. I would definitely recommend this tour to architecture and history enthusiasts alike; I would also recommend bringing hand and feet warmers! |

As a US History major at Berkeley, I was definitely looking for a history tour with substance, and this one did not disappoint. We learned a lot that I didn't already know and were able to see some really cool historical buildings and places. The tour guide was enthusiastic and engaging, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. |

This is one of the best tours I have ever taken. If you are interested in History, Intrigue, Architecture, and NYC, then you MUST take the Revolutionary War Tour. Karen is smart, enthusiastic and thoroughly entertaining. I am so glad I read and believed the reviews of her tour and signed up. You won't be sorry. Thanks Karen. See you in 6 months for the Civil War Tour. |
