My daughter and I had fun and we loved the food. There is no way we would have covered these many places on our own. Even after the tour they gave us addresses with phone numbers to other great places to eat at. Judy was really knowledgable about the city, she knows the history of the city and answered all our questions with a smile. |

My husband and I were in the area for a wedding and allowed an extra day to explore the city. The tour was a perfect balance of delicious food, walking, history/background. It started to rain during our tour but our guide, Judy, did an excellent job of making small adjustments so our group remained comfortable without taking anything away from the tour. The food portions were perfect, satisfied but not uncomfortable, and a great variety. I will do the tour again with my 20ish children...perfect way to get a feel for the city. Excellent job Judy, thank you. Highlight of our weekend. |

If you want to do a food tour in Philadelphia and save yourself some money at the same time, do a little research before you go, look up some famous eateries that you would like to try, and just head out to them yourself. The guides didn't enhance our foodie tour of Philly at all, at least not more than we could have done ourselves. I promise you, take your $50 and go on the Big Bus Tour of Philly, and just get off at the stops where your foods you want to try are located, and have a blast. By the way, Philly is an incredibly easy city to walk if you dont want to cab it everywhere on your OWN foodie tour!! My girlfriend and I walked the entire city from Rittenhouse Square all the way to Ben Franklin Parkway in about 2-3 hours!! We felt very safe and comfortable, and were able to find our way very easily since the city is a grid system. Pick up a tourist map outside somewhere (Independance Visitor Center maybe) and explore on your own.
The flavors of Philly tour was an okay tourist attraction. The guides were nice enough, but it seemed as though they only spoke to you when they needed to like if you had a question or something, other than that it was like they were all about the business of giving a tour. My girlfriend and I took a tour like this in New York about 2 years ago, and our experience was great and unforgettable, this one in Philly was just not even close to the same experience. The places we stopped to eat samples were just okay as well, except for the Pretzel Factory stop, which was very good and also known as a landmark, other than that, the foods we ate were very forgettabe. Philly is all about cheesesteaks...and we went to some dingy little dive that no one's ever heard of called Zio's, and ate a cheesesteak that several in our group thought tasted like Steak-ums that you can buy at the grocery store. I just kept wondering throughout the tour if the places we went were chosen because they paid the tour company owner to be on the tour, which I'm sure they did, but I thought we'd at least head to some landmark Philadelphia eateries, like Tony Luke Jr's which was far better and only a block away from the cheesesteak place we were brought to. I hate to be so critical, but the whole tour was not what I and my girlfriend expected it to be. Not to mention that we later found out that we were one block from the famous sign of Philly, LOVE Park, while standing at city hall, and the tour guides didn't even bother to point it out to us. Further more, I'm not sure that the 2 tour guides we had even knew most of what they were saying to be true. They were constantly asking each other if something was true after one had already said to the whole group, it was quite a mess in my opinion.
Skip the Flavors Of Philly Tour, save $50, and have a great time...we loved Philly. Happy Eating!!! |

Our family recently went on the Flavor of Philly Food Tour. The sample of foods and the eateries were nicely representative of the Philadelphia area. Our tour guide was informative, knowledgeable, and personable. The duration of the tour was appropriate. The alternate food selections for vegetarians were excellent. |

Our tour guide, Judy was very informative not only about the great foods of Philly but about the city as we passed by historical landmarks. Although some of us were worried that we would wind up with too much food the portions were just perfect and most delicious. When in Philly, be sure and take this tour. |

What a great way to see the city!! We ate our way through Philly!! Great food samplings and interesting tour guide. Gave us lots of info about the city, that I don't think we would have heard about other wise...did you know that city hall was used as the city dump for a number of years?? |

A friend and I decided to hit up this tour as a way of testing out some of the recommended foods in the area. I'm not sure if I'd say it was worth $40, but you're definitely full at the end! You get some interesting foods, but some things like the soft pretzel made me feel like I was spending $40 on food I could get back home. The tour guide gave us a cool mini tour of the area between stops so we could digest a bit, which was really nice. You get small portions at each stop (i.e. the cheese steak was quartered), so you're not eating full portions everywhere (hence the reason I didn't feel it was worth $40). I would say I ate the amount I would have gotten for a meal at any restaurant (so we'll say $20 would be the norm for that), and the tour was nice (but short, so worth only about $10). Maybe drop the price to $30? |

We had just enough to eat balanced with a good walk. Everything was tasty enough to want more, but we didn't need it. Our guide was entertaining and enthusiastic. |
