Flavors of Philly Food Tour

This tour was a blast!!! I am from the area but still learned so much new information about the city of Philadelphia. Jamie was a great tour guide - he knew everything and kept us entertained with fun facts and humor. The food was absolutely delicious!! And they didn't skip a beat with a vegetarian, supplementing the Philly Cheesesteak with a delicious grilled veggie hoagie. I would go on this tour again in a heartbeat!! Minimal walking, maximum indulgence!! The very last stop - Flying Monkey Bakery - had the most delicious dessert in a perfect single serving size!!! I HIGHLY recommend this tour!!

Our tour was just us and the tour guide, so we feel we had a much different experience than most who will be a part of a larger group. However, the stops were cool, the food was delish and overall we had a fun and informative time, even with the fact that it was just us and we are locals.

Delicious food, a great tour guide (Jaime), and interesting facts about Philly! My boyfriend and I had both never been to Philly before, and this tour was a perfect start to getting to know the city (and the food the city is known for!) I loved this tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Philly!

We had a great day walking the city and experiencing the tastes of Philly. The tour guide was super helpful, knowledgeable, and fun. The foods were yummy and the history great too. Thanks for the fun day in Philly.

In comparison to the Flavors of New York tour, this just needed a few more stops. The tomato pie was great, and a cheesesteak is a must. We liked the Reading Terminal, but could have done without the soft pretzel. I liked the tour, but in 2 1/2 hours, we only made 4 stops. We also liked the option of a stop in New York where we could buy a beer.

The tour wasn't as food-focused as our group wished it had been; it was more of a walking tour of the city. We bought 5 tickets and one of our group members couldn't come at the last minute so we figured that our group would just get extra food on the tour. Our tour guide said that wasn't how it worked and that he only orders enough food for the number of people that come, not the number of people who pay. And they would not give us a refund for the extra ticket. Our tour guide (Jamie) was obnoxious and slightly offensive throughout the tour; he would not stop insulting people in our group simply because they were from a city that he disliked. The tour ran almost an hour past the time that it was supposed to end which caused the rest of our plans for the day to be shifted around at the last minute. At the end of the tour, our guide asked for a gratuity. When no one from our group gave him any money, he told us that we were rude for not tipping him. Perhaps the tour would have been better with a different guide; but Jamie completely ruined the tour for our group.

We had a great time and highly recommend. Our tour guide Jamie was awesome!

I think that even if the samples were smaller that more restaurant food should have been available for sampling. I think a visit to China town would have been nice as well.

This tour guide gave more information about Phila and the buildings than about the food. We were taken to a food court and given a half Philly cheese steak and fries, I don't need to be on a tour to eat in a food court for $42.00. The price was a little high for the quality of food.
