AWESOME...Even for locals!

What an awesome tour. From the very beginning to the very end, the tour was informative, funny and unique. The history lessons were second to none and the tour guide (can't remember her name) was very personalable & energetic! The venues/restaurants that participated really offered delicious & plentiful foods. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone, even locals!

Interesting history coupled with tastes of Phila
Fri, Jun 4, 10   1:30 PM CarolBLee Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This is not a gourmet tasting tour, but includes the highlights of specialties of Philadelphia (soft pretzels, tomato pie, hoagie, cheese steak, cookies, chocolates). Coupling the history of these foods in Philadelphia and other key historical facts makes this an especially delightful, pleasing and fun tour. Recommended for all ages.

This tour is a great way to spend an afternoon...just the right balance of Philadelphia history, culture, and food. Come with an empty stomach, because the food is plentiful and very indulgent.

Friends, Food, Fun!

Instead of a "traditional" bachelorette party, we took the bride-to-be on this tour instead. It was great! The tour guide was friendly, funny and knowledgable about the city. Our group was made up of locals and out-of-towners and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Joe for making this day memorable!

We had a lot of fun learning more about the food in Philly. We tried some good things and learned a lot. The tour was accommodating to different food allergies and vegetarians.

More than met our expectations

Four of us took the tour. Our guide was wonderful. Besides the food which was plentiful and delicious, he took us around Philadelphia and explained different architectural details. We are from Philadelphia, and know a lot about our city's history. However, most of the architecture details were new to us. On our next trip in town, we were very conscious of the different building styles. This was a wonderful bonus.

Nice Time

I had a nice time on this tour. Judy was very informative and a lot of fun. She not only told us the history of the food but also pointed out landmarks and their history. We were originally scheduled for another tour but due to the fact that there were problems getting a tour guide for that tour we were moved to this tour. I enjoyed it greatly.

This gave us a great opportunity to see some sights of the city with a very knowledgeable guide as well as taste some great food! She gave us some background of monuments, buildings and sculptures around the city as well as a description and background of the food we were eating. Loads of fun!!!

Too much bread....pizza, pretzel, cheeese steak, hoagie, another pretzel. OK, but a little "hokey" with the silly presentation and laminated pictures.

Cheap Food, not suitable for International tourist
Sun, Mar 14, 10   1:30 PM xueningc Female 20-29 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The food they provide was very cheap. The taste was just so so. They only ordered one type of food in one place. I think it is not enough to understand the differences among foods. For example, they just mentioned about there were two different types of cheesesteak and different cheeses, but only bought one. Moreover, I think it is not good for international tourists who lack the background of US history. Sometimes, it is difficult for us to catch up.

This tour provided an excellent introduction to Philadelphia. Our tour guide was knoweledgable and enthusiastic. We learned both about the city, and its food. The food was delicious and we returned to several of the venues after the tour, during our visit to Philly.

Unique experience!

I bought tickets for this for me and my friend's 40th Birthdays. We really enjoyed the tour and the many tastings. The information we received about cheese was new to us and very informative. We were able to try cheeses we would never have otherwise tried. The chocolate was yummy!! The tastings of the Gelato was delicious, but we were not given much information on the history, etc. We were happy to have a "ladies' day", but were disappointed that children were on the tour. I don't believe this is something a child under 12 shoud be doing.
