Great tour. All of the food places were fantastic and it was nice that one of the locals at the pretzel joint "joined in" and provided some additional insight.

Fantastic Knowledgeable Tour Guide

My husband and I braved the tour despite the cold windy rain that was plaguing the city on Sunday, April 22nd. We were met with all smiles and cheers by our fabulous guide, Judy who is a 4th generation Philadelphian. Judy was absolutely magnificent in her knowledge about the City and food, which made the tour worth trudging through the rain.

Was a great few hours with tour guide Jamie who made everyone feel welcome with his humor. Plenty of food and desserts are decadent ESP flying monkey.

I was simply expecting some simple food tasting, but this truly was an event. It provided entertainment from our great tour guide along with explanation of where we stopped and what the food originated from. Highly recommend for those that live local as well as far.

Great place to take out of town guests

I am a local whose cousin was visiting from NY. This tour was a great taste of Philly and center city. We definitely left full of delicious treats, so you get your money's worth. Tour guide Jamie was fun and kept us at ease, but he was a little too gabby, so we were 45 minutes longer than scheduled. He was very knowledgeable!

Valentine’s Aphrodisiac Dinner Event

My fiance and I had an amazing time at the Valentine's Aphrodisiac Dinner. Eric and Robert were very knowledgeable and made everyone feel extremely comfortable. We were able to meet other couples and share lots of laughs during the evening. I would definitely recommend this event to other people.

Fantastic evening well worth the cost!
Valentine’s Aphrodisiac Dinner Event
Sat, Feb 11, 12   6:00 PM alphaloria Female 30-39 Local Couple on a Date
Unlike the rest of the Food Tours which focus on great food destinations in Philly, the Aphrodisiac dinner focuses on, well, aphrodisiacs. The entire event was held at Day By Day and included some chat about the history of aphrodisiacs, a three course meal that incorporated many of the foods known to be aphrodisiacs, a cooking demonstration by the chef of Day By Day, and some games. My boyfriend and I had a great time and a great group of people at our table. Robert and Eric did an awesome job of keeping things moving along and interesting, and the entire two-and-a-half hour event flew by. I look forward to checking out some of their other tours in the future!

What an excellent afternoon!

The tour was a treat for the staff of our company (and their spouses) to celebrate meeting our 2011 goals. Rochelle was our tour guide and had us weaving through Reading Terminal Market like pros. The three stops in the market were fabulous. From delicious fallafel and natural granola to Flying Monkey's Chocolate Cake Truffles. After a historic walk down Center City and some insight about the buildings we were passing, we arrived at DiBruno's for some artisan cheese. There's nothing like talking cheese with professionals to get you in the mood for something unique. Then on to Capogiro Gelato for some fresh, homemade gelato and sorbetto. (The avocado gelato is amazing!) An excellent finish to the tour!

Good tour, but could use 1-2 improvements

In comparison to the Flavors of New York tour, this just needed a few more stops. The tomato pie was great, and a cheesesteak is a must. We liked the Reading Terminal, but could have done without the soft pretzel. I liked the tour, but in 2 1/2 hours, we only made 4 stops. We also liked the option of a stop in New York where we could buy a beer.

Waste of Money

The tour wasn't as food-focused as our group wished it had been; it was more of a walking tour of the city. We bought 5 tickets and one of our group members couldn't come at the last minute so we figured that our group would just get extra food on the tour. Our tour guide said that wasn't how it worked and that he only orders enough food for the number of people that come, not the number of people who pay. And they would not give us a refund for the extra ticket. Our tour guide (Jamie) was obnoxious and slightly offensive throughout the tour; he would not stop insulting people in our group simply because they were from a city that he disliked. The tour ran almost an hour past the time that it was supposed to end which caused the rest of our plans for the day to be shifted around at the last minute. At the end of the tour, our guide asked for a gratuity. When no one from our group gave him any money, he told us that we were rude for not tipping him. Perhaps the tour would have been better with a different guide; but Jamie completely ruined the tour for our group.

Informative but not so tasty

I was completely impressed with our tour guide. She was a Philadelphia native and had a wealth of knowledge to share and enthusiasm to bring to our experience. I was unfortunately not pleased with the food. The tomoto pie was good but in addition to this we only had a piece of a soft pretzel and most people just had a couple of pieces of chocolate pretzels which really was not exciting homemade or not as that is something someone can get anywhere. But the biggest disappointment was the intended food highlight which was the cheesesteak. I seriously have made better cheese steaks at home. It was just steak and cheese whiz! So for what I paid for, I didn't feel the food was worth it. I feel I paid more for the tour guide and information on the city which although impressive, the food which was the point of the tour, was a let down.

By Far the Worst Tour about food ever
Tue, Sep 20, 11   1:30 PM Jduong22 Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This tour to summarize it is HORRIBLE, the tour had nothing to do with the flavors of philly unless you enjoy going to a pizza shop and a pretzel shop. We could have found these ourselves and to pay 40.00 per person to go have this? REDICULOUS. The tour guy Jame, all he ever did was talk about his personal life and his troubles, he arrive at the meet up point, had no clue what he was doing or saying. Talked way to much about nothing that the tour was about and a big waste of time. Two people from the group was so irritated that they made up and excuse to be somewhere else because they couldnt stand it anymore. So much delay and people were wondering wht was going on. So if you like eating pizza, pretzel and a philly cheese steak with cheese whiz from a bottle, go on this tour. Matter of fact, pay me half of what this tour cost and Ill take you to even better places. How this company got rated so high is beyond me. THIS TOUR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FLAVORS OF PHILLY AND WOULD PUT PHILLY TO SHAME.

One of the best parts of our trip

Our guide was funny and informative. He showed us other places along the way like Macy's organ and Del Frisco's Steakhouse inside an old bank which were really cool. The food was really good and he told us why we came to each particular spot and why it was the best in the area. Highly recommended for any adult and even kids 9 or 10 and up.

We took out of town family on the Flavors of Philly Food Tour and we enjoyed every minute of it! We learned interesting facts about not only Philly foods but also some of the city's history. They advertise that you get enough food for lunch but that is a huge understatement! I had enough food for lunch and dinner. The guys might disagree but they were more than satisfied. I am looking forward to doing their ethnic food tour next!
