Great Photos! Awesome Tour!

What a great time we had on this tour! Wow! New York is an exciting city and this is such a fun way to experience it. I mean, how often do you have someone personally escorting you around town taking photos of you everywhere you go? I'm sure people thought we were some kind of TV stars or something! And these aren't just ordinary photos that you can have a stranger take, we were in the middle of Times Square with cars zipping all around us, and on the Blooklyn Bridge and Mark made it look like we were the only ones there, and we even got pictures of us in our subway car! I was truely amazed when we received our photos how good we looked in them! We received more photos than I thought we would and I have so many I want to frame. But really, it's not just about the pictures, the tour itself is a blast. We covered so much in a short period of time (wear comfortable shoes!) and Mark really did a great job helping us choose a good itinerary for us. We wanted to go to Brooklyn while we were in NY and he gave us great advise about what to do in Brooklyn and where to eat there, and even took time out after our tour to show us how to get there, and what to do the rest of our trip in NY. I can't decide which I like more, the photos or the tour. I loved them both! It was a great experience, I highly recommend it to everyone! Thank Mark!

Awesome second time on tour!

Marc is a gem. I was called on business to NY on short notice, so my wife decided to come along for us to make a vacation out of it. We didn't have time to plan our activities, so we decided to book a Phototrek tour since we had such a great time during our last trip there. New York is a big and dynamic city, so we wanted to explore different neighborhoods this time. Marc did not disappoint! As expected, he met us on time and was ready to take us on an adventure! We went to lots of places that we hadn't had a chance to explore on our last trip, and it was great to go there with someone who knew the city. As before, we learned about what was going on around town, and some of the fun shops and galleries to visit. We were lucky - it was Restaurant Week! We were told about where to make reservations at some awesome restaurants, and also where to buy 1/2 price broadway tickets without waiting in line. I really wish there was something like this in every city. There is absolutely nothing like exploring a new place with a native, and seeing New York with Marc is like having an old friend greet you. The pictures were great, and I expected that. We have some pics from our last trip hanging in our home that we get a lot of compliments about. To me, this is money well spent. If I'm ever in New York again, I'm booking another phototrek tour!

Amateur photographer for a professional price.

Although some of the photos taken on this "tour" were some of my favorite of our vacation, they were no better quality than others taken by strangers we handed our camera to on the street. Yes, the photographer had a nicer camera than ours (though not a professional camera), but many of the photos he took were out of focus. One of the locations we went to had no usable photos. Also the web site suggested that there would be many famous locations included in the photos when actually there were only three. In that location there was not time enough to even look around. The photographer took no time to get to know our likes and dislikes or interests. He shot his "stock" spots but did not even point out the large "clump" of my hair that was across my forehead until the last few pics of the entire shot. Many of the photos would have been great if not for that one detail. As far as a "tour" this was anything but. The photographer spoke incessantly about the subway and how to use it (despite my husband telling him he had lived in the city in the past). He did not let us get a word in edgewise, not even to speak to one another. When we did ask about landmarks other than the most famous, he did not know anything about them. Overall, I would call the photographer amateur while, for the price, one would expect a professional. It was nice to have someone to take pictures of us together without having to ask a stranger to do it, although we accomplished this quite easily on our own by asking other tourists to take pics of us with our camera. If I had known ahead of time that it would be that easy I would not have booked a photographer. Because of that and the amateur quality of many of the photos, I would not recommend this service.

This tour was awesome! Mark was a great tour guide. He gave us a couple of options when we started the tour of which direction we would like to take things, and we saw quite a few places in a very short time. Its a good thing we are fast walkers! Mark taught us how to use the Subway, and we are pros by the end of the day. Our pictures turned out great, and he had them to us by the morning after our tour. I would highly reocumend this tour! We had a great time and Mark gave us a great taste of NYC.

My husband and I took the 2-hour Best of New York walking tour in January and we loved every minute of it! We had so much fun visiting all of the landmarks and having our pictures taken along the way. Marc was very fun to work with and made sure that we were happy with the route that he had planned out before we started walking. We absolutely LOVED the photos! They were a great mix of different poses, backgrounds and artistic styles. We could not be happier that we did this tour and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to capture unforgettable memories while visiting New York!

A must do for anyone going to New York - Marc was so very helpful and informative ! I proposed to my girlfriend whilst on this tour and had emailed Marc previously to discuss setting etc. Everything was just perfect and we have fantastic photos to treasure forever ! It was helpful to do this at the begining of our visit as we found our way around more easily and Marc also showed us how to use the metro . We have fantastic photos in times square, Brooklyn Bridge and of course Central Park where Marc certainly made the right choice of setting - all perfect and thank you Marc for making this such a special time for us. This is the best idea, and I wish there was someone like Marc in every tourist destination that we have visited. He was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and most of all very talented! Our pictures were fantastic and we got way more than the advertised 75 pics for the 2 hour tour. We wished we would have done a longer tour to see even more! If we are ever in the city again, we will do another tour and see more places with Marc. I will (and have already) recommend this tour to anyone who makes a trip to NYC. PS...thanks for the tutorial on navigating the subway system, Marc...we were professionals at it after the tour and got around so easily! Jill and Nick from Nebraska

I felt that this tour is well worth the money. Not only do you have a personal photographer but you are also given a tour of the most famous attractions in NYC. They also give you the hot spots on dinning and entertainment. This is highly recommended.

Fantastic, the photos are amazing!

When we arrived for our tour it was snowing, and Marc offered us a full refund as he couldn't guarantee the quality of the photos. We decided to go ahead regardless, as we probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to do it again, and we are so pleased with the results. Marc took us to Times Square, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge and Soho, and so we got a wide range of photos and we think the snow makes them extra special! The tour wasn't just about the photos, however, as Marc also showed us how to use the Subway and gave us information on different areas, as well as tips on good restaurants and bars to go to. The CD of photos was delivered to our hotel the next day. Overall, the tour was great and I would recommend it to anyone!
