A great way to see NYC!

I took this tour during a girls weekend. I highly recommend this tour! What a wonderful way to see the city as well as great pictures to share with friends and family back home. I was very satisfied with the tour. We went to places that I know I wouldn't have seen if it wasn't for Marc. He was awesome! He taught us how to use the subway system -which is a great and inexpensive way to get around the city. We would have never done this on our own and would have spent a fortune on cabs. Marc was very informative and you truly can see he loves sharing his city with you. He showed us sites that we would have never visited on our own as well as made great recommendations on the way. He even dropped us off at a great restaurant in Little Italy for lunch. He called us a couple of hours afterwards to tell us our pictures were ready and already waiting for us at the hotel. During that conversation, he gave us directions to some other sites to visit. I highly recommend this tour and I have shared his brochure and website with all my co-workers and friends. Having the trip captured professionally on film is worth the price alone. The memories are captured and everyone in your party are in the picture as well. A true benefit of a personal tour with a guide that has a great eye for photography!

The tour with Phototrek was fantastic!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! Marc with Phototrek Tours effortlessly guides you through the city to the major sites and takes multiple pictures at each site. You don't have to worry about asking a passerby to take a picture for you, and ultimately end up with an off-center picture or a thumb over the lens. Or even worse, end up with no camera at all! A 2-hour tour is sufficient enough to see the major spots (this is what we did), but be ready to move! Marc will make sure to get you to multiple destinations, but it goes at a quick pace. But this should only speak volumes about Marc's tour -- he wants to make sure you get your money's worth. I proposed to my girlfriend on the tour, and Marc helped effectively ease all my fears before hand. Of course, being such a momentous occasion, I wanted everything to go perfect. After a short conversation with me and what I wanted to do, Marc knew exactly the perfect spot. I left everything else up to him, and he did a wonderful job! I can say that not only will we have wonderful actual engagement pictures for the rest of our lives, but also a great story and memories to go along with it. Marc also helped us conquer the subway system (which is momentous for a couple of people that have never ridden a subway before) as well as recommended one of the best pizza joints in Little Italy. I encourage anyone who is thinking of booking his/her tour to do it in your first few days of your trip, so you can have the full knowledge of the city and the subways like we did. That, and you can have most of your picture taking out of the way too! The one bit of advice I can provide is to not be afraid to ask questions about things (like buildings or history) or as well as taking certain photo shots. Marc will inform you about things along the way, but don't expect a "museum" tour (i.e. a lengthy description of every single thing in New York)-- however, when we did ask about anything, he almost instantly had an answer for it. Also, Marc will have many great pose ideas as well as backgrounds, but if you see something you'd like to do, don't be shy to ask because otherwise the tour will move on without you. All in all, the experience was great and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially those who love to have lasting memories and like to smile for a camera. And if you're thinking of popping the big question, take it from me -- Marc will make sure the moment is extra special.

Lots of pictures enjoying NYC
Sun, Jan 28, 07   8:30 AM romansew Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
Marc not only knows how to take pictures, he knows (and shows you) how to handle in NYC; using the subway when neccessary we spent 4 fantastic hours around all of main NYC highlights (and many different group pictures on all of them). He knows, of course, where to go, but accepts any of your suggestions or preferences. At the same time, you learn all you want from any aspect of NYC you are interested in, for he was indeed born in the Big Apple...Without any doubt, I recommend this tour to any person or group travelling to New York (be or not his/their first visit to it). Thank you, Marc. (I've already used the link in the email you sent me and all the pictures are available and ready to share)

Marc is a walking talking New York encyclopaedia!
Mon, Jan 22, 07   1:30 PM ehaversham Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We arrived in New York, as tourists, with our mouths open and our eyes shut, after our time with you, we became travellers, this time with our mouths shut and our eyes open. This was so very much more than a photo tour, Marc is a walking talking New York encyclopaedia. Every question thrown at him he answered. You are not so much a photographer, but rather a photo designer. I did not appreciate this until I got home and saw the prints. What I thought were photos taken at random, were in fact, marvellously choreographed shots, every single one having a backdrop of some aspect of New York life. Your photographs are the bonus of your tour, the other things you showed us proved invaluable . How to use the subway……worth its weight in gold. Theatre tickets, we got three for the price of one! …..terrific. Century 21st……………nuff said! Excellent restaurants…. You must have saved us hundreds of dollars. Also we went to places with the real flavour of Manhattan , places we probably wouldn’t have got to. It was an incredible afternoon for us, one that we will never forget, and our photos will keep it a vivid memory forever.

Brilliant tour. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our 4 hours with Mark and saw loads of things we wouldn't have seen if he hadn't been showing us around. It was my second trip to New York and we have come to the conclusion I must have had my eyes closed the first time because I didn't see half of the things I saw this time with Mark or maybe its just because he knows what he is doing and where to take you. Considering I don't really like walking or having my photo taken it was a weird tour for me to book but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the pictures are very good too, it didn't feel like we were walking for 4hrs. It was my mums first time in New York and these 4hrs were her favourite part of the break. We would both recommend it. It was great not to have to carry cameras around or to have to keep asking people everytime we wanted a picture together, our trip has been well documented in our photos and are something for us both to keep and enjoy.

Great way to start out the visit to New York City

Mark was very good with people. He made my husband and me feel at ease. He taught us to use the subway and to not be intimidated by it. We saw more things in four hours than we would have otherwise seen in a week. He took over 150 pictures of us and the sites that we visited. He delivered these to us on a CD the next day. Mark has grown up in the City and so also gave us the feeling that we were meeting a local. He was very professional and at the same time friendly. My husband and I enjoyed the "tour" very much.

Christmas in New York

The photo tour was a unique experience that enabled us to see parts of New York that we would probably have missed. Even though the weather was miserable the photo's were excellent and it was lovely to have a set of photos of all the places we visited (with both of us in them!!!) We were only in New York for a short visit, however the tour made us a feel like we didn't miss anything New York had to offer. I would thoroughly reccommend the tour and hopefully they'll spread to other parts of america and we will definately use them again!!!! Many Thanks

Tour of A Lifetime
Wed, Dec 20, 06   8:30 AM jqvfjc3 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Mark made every effort to ensure our trip was fun and informative. We travel domestically pretty frequently, and like most husband and wife trevelers we return home with pictures of each other, but rarely with pictures of us together. With Mark that was not the case on this visit to New York City. We have pictures from locations, and angles that only a native would know about. Mark shaped the tour to meet our personal requests, wants and needs. We decided on the 4 hour tour and highly recommend it in order to see everything possible. After touring with Mark we felt like we were much more capable of geting around the city on our own.

Fantastic photos and useful local information
Tue, Dec 19, 06   8:00 AM LNorman Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We had a tour with Marc a native New Yorker, who as well as being a really friendly, personable guy, seemed to be a fountain of knowledge ranging from who built it, why, when and how, as well as more up to the minute information such as the best places to eat and shop. He knew the answers to all of our really mundane questions too. Ideal tour to take at the beginning of your stay if possible as he knows where all the bargains are to be found! Don't believe anything you read about New Yorkers being unfriendly, we found everyone we spoke to extremely friendly and helpful. We received the photos as promised at the hotel the following evening and they're all great - lovely to have everyone in the photo together. A really good tour and some really fantastic photographic memories! We can't recommend this tour highly enough!
