Put on your walking shoes and be ready to smile

This is a fast-paced energetic tour of the city- although I'm sure Marc would slow the pace if that is your desire- by a real New Yorker. I was amazed at the amount of ground covered in such a short period of time. Word of warning: keep smiling! Marc does a spectacular job at keeping your party as the main focus of the pictures and to do this in the middle of Manhattan he must be quick with the shutter. In other words, minimal time is spent being situated into a pose- so be ready to smile. I was happy that during any time waiting for or being on a subway he showed us the shots he had taken so far, so when I got the disc (the next day) there were no surprises. I thouroughly enjoyed our 2 hours, which seemed like half that. Our pictures-more than 80 of them- turned out great. He took several quick shots at each location, so you will be able to choose the best one. Yes, there were several where either my husband or I was not smiling, eyes closed, or otherwise just goofy looking- but that aside, I still had to narrow down the pictures I wanted to print. I think anyone who wants some great pictures of themselves in New York should book this tour!

Great pictures and great Tour

We recently went to NYC as a surprise birthday present from my husband and we booked this tour with Marc. My intend was to get some great pictures of us during the 2 hour tour since we were only in town for 3 days. Marc captured the New York hussle and bussle very nicely. My husband thought it might be uncomfortable going on a one on one tour, but it was not at all. It was nice to be able to ask questions at any time. It was a pretty tightly scheduled tour, but that enabled us to get to see more. Thanks for some great memories Marc.

Marc was a great tour guide and photographer. My friend Tina and I had a great time and learned so much! We let him know what we had seen so far and he took us to different areas in the city and took some really great photos that would have been impossible to get without bothering a lot of people. Be ready to do some serious walking! I loved it!

Our phototrek tour with Mark was a fabulous way to begin our stay in NYC. Mark was an excellent tour guide who knows NYC like the back of his hand. He also is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of NYC. He had lots of stories and suggestions for us which we enjoyed. We covered a lot of ground, both on foot and via subway, during our three our tour with him and by the end really felt like we had our bearings for Manhattan and how to use the subway. This experience set us up well for the days ahead that we were spending in NYC. Mark is also an excellent photographer and the disc of photos we received following our time with him are a great souvenir of our trip. He did a wonderful job of photographing our family and friends by all of the famous Manhattan landmarks and we had a lot of fun. Mark had come highly recommended to us so when planning our trip and weighing all of the options of how to spend our money in NYC we decided to have a phototrek tour with Mark - it was great and worth every penny.

We took the photo trek tour on our last day in New York even though the company recommends talking it on your first couple of days. We had both been to NYC before so the photgrapher decided to do a couple of different things. We spent time in Central Park, Upper East Side, Times Square, Grand Central and then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge into Brookyln. It was so much fun and the photographer was very knowledgable. I just got the photos in the mail last week (you would normally get them delivered to your hotel) and they are amazing. This is a really great idea for people wanting some different pictures than the normal tourist attractions. We especially loved to have really great pictures of the two of us together.

To say this tour is AWESOME would be an understatement!!! I only give it five stars because I can't give it six! Marc does an excellent job getting around the city in a short period of time. Not only that, he shows his guests how to get around on their own as well. This is by far, the best way not only to see the city, but to also get a feel for the city.

I'm going to need more than 3000 characters! haha. My girlfriend, now fiance, booked the 2hr tour, 2 days before we got to the city and are very, very happy we did. Marc wasn't only knowledgeable, professional as well as entertaining. He was a friend. In less then 10 minutes, you felt as if you knew him for years. We felt that the pictures we're just a bonus of the tour. We were only visiting a couple of days, but after the tour we had the knowledge and confidence to get around and go where we wanted without a moment's hesitation. In a city like New York, that's priceless in my opinion. Let's talk photo's. Absolutely brilliant! I work in an industry that deals with photography on a daily basis. His technique and knowledge is superb. He knows how to get the best out of you without compromising the background which is what we, as customers, want to see. For example, when we made it to the Brooklyn Bridge, it was jam packed. But in the photos ... where did they go? Some pictures looked like we were the only ones on the bridge! And it's not like people are stopping for you take photos either. People are on the move 24-7. That is what I call true talent. The highlight of the tour for me had to be Central Park. This is where I proposed. Marc, has a link on his website specifically for Weddings and Romance. I saw the link but never click on it. Funny story, and I'm sure he'll agree, is that I picked the exact spot where he tells the future groom, (usually in advance) that is the best spot to propose. Because your always on the go and close together I didn't have a chance to pull him a side and let him in on the plan. I had no plan! haha. In the end, I proposed and I have stunning pictures to prove it. He also gave us that extra privacy to relish the moment. An extra thanks for that. If you have read this far then your just as excited as I was reading other peoples reviews. They're not lying. He's good, real good. Worth every penny if not more. Because we were there for only a short period of time, the photos had to be mailed. We received them just as promised! Marc, Leigh and I can not THANK YOU enough for making us feel so comfortable in a city such as New York. We fell in love with her and can't wait to go back. Best wishes to you. Sincerely, Jason and Leigh (soon to be) Hotle

My fiancee and I have been to New York City numerous times but didn't really have any great pictures of us in the city. The tour was so thorough (Times Square, Central Park, Grand Central Station, Brooklyn Bridge, SoHo and Greenwich Village) and the pictures are outstanding-so many to choose from to give our family and friends. Having pictures taken at iconic New York City sites is such a wonderful way to commermorate our special times we have spent together over the years in New York City. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone seeking beautiful pictures to capture their memories in the great city of New York!

Marc did a wonderful job on our walking tour of NYC. I surprised my sweetheart with a proposal in Central Park during the tour and Marc captured the moment beautifully. He was attentive but also knew when to give us a few minutes to spend "our time" together. Thank you Marc! SCQ

Just got back a view days ago and our photo's are stunning! Marc's a great guy, fantastic photographer and he really loves the city and it's beautiful sites. He can tell you a lot about historical buildings and other sites and show you anything you'd like to see. So don't be shuy and just ask him if you want to know or see something specific. The photo quality is good enough to enhance your pictures and the speed of delivery is mostly within 24 hours. Since we were in NYC for just 2 more days this was perfect. For people that don't like to get their picture taken, this is a great tour to book, because you're just walking down the streets, going on the subway, talking a lot and make jokes, it's almost as if the photographer is part of your group. At first we got worried that we would feel awkward, but we really didn't. I can't tell you enough how much we've enjoyed this phototour! Great pictures and lots of sightseeing. The perfect way to cover your citytrip! Especially when you don't have a lot of time or when it's your first time in the city. We'll definately come back to New York and we're 100% sure of making a second phototour with Marc! Once again we bow to Marc, all the way from the Netherlands. See you in a couple of years! Thanks again! Patrick & Cecil

A Fine Introduction to the City
Tue, Mar 24, 09   9:30 AM rjanik Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Imagine you're visiting a new city. It would be great if you knew someone who lived there for years, and really loved the place and couldn't wait to show you around. Oh, and if he would take pictures, lots of pictures of you and your wife together so you didn't have to decide who gets to pose in front of what. If you don't have that friend in the Big Apple, the Best of New York tour is a close second. Spending our first day in the city walking around with Marc was a great way to get a feel for it, and especially to see a few off-the beaten path corners adjacent to more well-known spots. If you're looking for something a little different from a typical bus--or even walking--tour, you won't be disappointed if you go with Marc.

Our wedding day was fantastic!

We recently decided to elope to New York and needed someone to take the photos. Marc understood exactly what we wanted and took amazing photos of both the wedding and of our tour of Manhattan afterwards. His formidable local knowledge and helpful attitude meant that our wedding day ended up being even more amazing than we could have ever imagined. He even booked a restaurant for us for that evening which turned out to be spectacular!! All of our friends have gushed over the excellent photos since we returned, and we would therefore recommend phototrek tours to anybody visiting New York!

Excellent! Do not miss this experience when in NYC

Marc was an excellent tourguide and photographer who helped us to capture life long memories in photos! We saw NYC as a local would, walking and taking the subway from one location to the next and we saw and learned things that cannot come out of a tour book. Its the first vacation (ever) that we have family photos from which included all 4 of us, and Marc's photo quality and the way that he made sure that the landmarks were part of each photograph, can not be rivalled by the types of amateur photos we would have taken. We had children with us and yet we always felt that our safety was Marc's priority and he kept his eye on all of us at all times. This was an excellent experience for all and we have already recommended it to all of our friends and family!

The Best Idea EVER!

My roomate and I went to NYC for Spring Break and neither of us had ever been. So, we wanted to see all of the major sites, and since there were only 2 of us, we figured it would be hard to get great pictures of the both of us together at the sites. While online booking our trip, we saw the ad for the PhotoTrek Tour and decided to do it. It was the best decision ever! We got to see Central Park, Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Soho. It was so EXCITING! And the photographer was friendly and so helpful! And the pictures turned out AMAZING!!! It was well worth the Money and I would recommend it to anyone who has never been!
