Great way to see NYC if you are on a time crunch

Marc was very accommodating, personable and informative! He made me and my daughter (17 yrs. old) feel very comfortable and just generated alot of laughs. We were able to see quite a few places in such a short period of time which was great because we were only visiting for 2 days. We visited Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Soho, Greenwich Village and Central Park. I just got my CD with my photos and they were fun to look at! About 140 in all for just 2 hours and most were keepers. There were some posing pictures, but alot of candid shots which were a perfect mix. I definitely recommend walking shoes and proper weather gear as my daughter quickly learned that cold weather in NYC isn't so fun without them.

Truly the BEST OF NEW YORK! Awesome tour!

I took my 16 year old son, Jason, on our first Father/Son trip to NYC for a New Years Eve in Times Square adventure. We are from Mississippi and neither of us had ever travelled to NYC so, honestly, we were more than a little nervous coming to this giant city. On vacations in the past we would always have to take pictures of us individually or together at arms length. That's no fun so we decided to try out the Best of New York tours, see the city and have some great shots made of BOTH of us. To make the most of the journey we opted for the three hour tour, which I highly recommend you do if you really want to see NYC at it's heart! Marc from PhotoTrek Tours met us at our hotel right on time and off we went. Marc is a fantastic guy! Very friendly and knowledgeable! He took us all over the city, showing us how to navigate the subway system and learn the street grids. We walked through and learned all about SOHO (which I now know means "South of Houston - pronounced How-sten), Greenwich Village, Central Park, Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge. While planning this trip we knew we wanted to see the Empire State, the Statue of Liberty and all of the typical New York sites. Well, we did that but the Best of New York tour showed us much more than that. We truly saw the Best of New York. We saw the heart of the city in the Greenwich Village neighborhoods with the small shops and restaurants. We walked under the arches of the Brooklyn Bridge. We ate the best pizza I have ever tasted at Bleeker St Pizza ( highly recommended by Marc and now me). It was like I told Marc, Times Square may be the "shock" but the Village and SOHO were the "Ahhhh!" We rode the subways and took photos in Times Square with the hundreds of yellow cabs whizzing by. I can honestly say that our trip would not have been so successful or been as much fun if we had not taken this tour. As promised, Marc brought a CD of all of our photos to our hotel the next morning and, now that I am home and have had time to review them, all I can say is WOW! Dozens and dozens of great shots that my son and I will always cherish! If you have never been to New York and want a great way to see the sites (and more!) and have some great pictures and memories then you will be missing out if you don't book a PhotoTrek Tour! Thanks again Marc for an amazing adventure! 5 stars doesn't come close to the rating you deserve! If I could leave 10 that still might not be enough!! Excellent tour!! Thanks! I love photos and was determined to not come home with a camera full of pictures of my boyfriend and me alone so looked around and found phototrek, We took the 3 hour tour on the 28th December 2008 and thought it was very good, was a bit apprehensive as could only find reviews on this site and they all seemed positive which made me doubt it! (thats just me ha ha) really glad we did it, ended up with 145 great photos. My least favourite bit was the amount of time we spent in the village and soho, i did feel that this could have been more condensed but dont get me wrong i loved it and would defiantley do it again. Marc was very accomodating and would happily change the order of the tour to suit you if required.

Unmissable Tour of New York!

What can I say about the photo tour of New York? Marc was fantastic - a really nice guy who knows all there is to know about NY! My wife and I opted for the 2 hour trip on 26 Dec 08. As it was our second last day in NY we wanted to see as much as we possibly could. With Marc we definitely managed to do that. He took us through Times Square, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge and finally on to Greenwich Village & SOHO. He even explained how the subway system worked (until then we hadn't been brave enough to give it a go!) And the photos he took - WOW! They are amazing! Since we have come home we haven't been able to stop looking at them as they capture such happy memories of our trip. I really can't recommend this tour enough. You will have a wonderful time seeing all of the sights and you will have a wonderful set of photos to cherish forever!

This tour made our trip even more special and better still unique as our friends back home had never heard of the tour. We saw and heard about New York from a New Yorker's perspective. Mark was punctual, extremely friendly and straight away made us feel comfortable and welcome. We were shown things around New York that we would probably have never seen or done during our trip. This tour is a MUST for any tourist visting New York. Our photo CD was delivered to our Hotel the next day as promised which was fantastic, such great service. The first thing we did when we came back to our home in Scotland was put our CD on, the photos are just fantastic. There is no way we could have got photos like this had we not done this tour. The fact that it was christmas and a lot of our photos had christmas decorations in them was just wonderful. Thanks so much to Mark for all is hard work and please please book this tour if you are visiting. We have already been passing the word round to our family, friends and work colleagues. We loved New York!

What a fantastic experience!! Everything, from the booking to the actual tour itself was flawless, absolutely everything I could have wanted. Seriously, this is the best idea ever for vacationing friends/couples who have the problem of never getting to be in your own pictures! Our guide was so knowledgeable about the sights and the city. Even past just the usual "tour guide script," he answered all of our questions, and was completely accommodating and customized the tour to cover the places we wanted to see. When I return to the city in the future with other friends or family, I will definitely insist on this being one of our activities again. Pictures were fantastic, and were ready the next day! Overall, a completely amazing experience, and one that I will definitely be doing again.

I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity -- it was awesome! With Mark as our guide, we were able to see NYC landmarks that we might not have been able to reach if it weren't for our PhotoTrek tour, and we had the moments captured in memorable photographs that we'll treasure for a long time. Don't miss this opportunity!

The photo trek tour was the best part of our trip. As this was our first visit to NYC, we set up the tour for our first day in town. And boy are we glad we did! Mark gave us the knowledge and history of the city, and the confidence to venture out on our own. And we got some great pictures along the way! We would have never seen all the different places he showed us had we not gone on that tour! Thanks so much! I will definitely recommend this to all my friends! Thanks again! The Volpe's

A DEFINITE FOR A FIRST TIME VISIT TO NEW YORK
Fri, Dec 12, 08   8:00 AM julie1959 Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My friend and I were first time visitors to New York and although we had worked out a vague itinery we were not really sure of distance and time. We had worked out our itinery on foot as we had heard that traffic etc (taxis and buses) would be time consuming and we were nervous about using the subway. However one tour with Marc and we were hopping on and off the subway without a care in the world and reaching our destinations quickly and with ease. After 5 days we felt like true New Yorkers! During our 3 hour walking tour with Marc we certainly covered a lot of areas and visited places that we would not have seen had we not gone on this tour. My friend and I would definitely recommend this tour for a first time New Yorker!

The photo tour was more than we both expected!! Marc met us at our hotel first where we decided together what spots we should go to. Marc, thank you so much for the priceless photos. We are using them in a photo book and since we got engaged that weekend to the tour and the photos were a great way to commemorate our trip. We would recommend this photo tour to anyone visiting New York. It will be the highlight of your trip, not to mention you'll have tons of pictures of your group professionally taken!!

I would strongly recommend this activity to anyone visiting New York; usually I am the one who ends up taking all the photos (which means I am hardly ever in any of them!) and with this tour that isn't an issue. More importantly though along with some great photo's you are accompanied by a very friendly and knowledgeable local guide. Marc's tips were invaluable to our group and allowed us to discover parts of NYC that we would have otherwise been oblivious to.

New York's Hidden Gem of a Tour!!

The Best part of our Trip! Not only did the pictures turn out SUPER, but we got to see sites we would NEVER have thought to go see durng our stay. Not just professional, but very knowlegable about the city AND offered advise on what to see during our stay. It's fast paced, but you don't feel rushed. My husband and I were celebrating our 7 year anniversary. Of all the events we had planned, this was our favorite. This is a "must do" for anyone. Make sure to do this first as you are guided by a professional with helpful hints on riding the subway, getting around town and suggesting areas to visit according to your likes! Definitely worth it! Definitely will recommend! Thanks for the memories PhotoTrek!

My husband and I were so glad we found out about Mark and took his photo tour of NY's finest. He was so easy to talk to and we learned so much about his city. He snapped pictures with ease which made our time so enjoyable. Be ready to walk a lot which allows for a packed two hours. We love our pictures and tell everyone they have to take this tour. I also would recommend taking the tour early in your visit because he gives great ideas of where his favorite places are. So glad we met you, Mark. Thanks! Scott and Bev
