We loved Mark - this was a great tour. The pictures are wonderful. Mark really knows and loves New York. He worked with our group on his day off - thank you. I would recommend Mark to any group. We had a wonderful time. The only change I would do - is to book the longer tour - the 2 hours just wizzed by.
BTW - we all liked the subway ride.
Thanks |

We had a great time with Marc -- he accommodated us by meeting us outside my husband's workplace, and tailored the tour to our specifications. He was fun to be with, we covered a lot of ground, learned some interesting stuff, and enjoyed feeling like celebs on a photo shoot. The photos were delivered promptly and turned out great! Two thumbs up! |

OMG! What fun we had!
My husband and I were planning a trip to NYC, (Nov 2007) so I did some info searching on the Internet. One of the pages I landed on had an ad for Photo Trek Tours. I clicked on it. What a fabulous idea! My husband and I take lots of pictures, but come home with just a few of the two of us together.
I read all of the reviews - if you are reading them - listen to all of them that tell you to be READY to walk! haha OMG - Marc had us going at a good clip! We saw more than I thought possible in two hours.
Bonus - he taught us how to use the Subway (your new best friend), so the rest of our visit in NYC was so simple for getting around!
Marc is a great guy - full of information and a spectacular personality. He kept us entertained.
We had a great time in two hours, saw a lot, learned a lot and had a CD with a TON of great pictures delivered to our hotel room the next day! I have already used one of them for our Christmas card! Everybody loved them!
If you are reading the reviews - I know you are interested. Trust me - it's worth it! I would love to go back and do it again with a bigger group of friends!
Marc even recommended a place for our first NY pizza experience! It was great too!
Do it!!!!
PS - do the PhotoTour your first day if you can - it really helps you get a feel for the city and subway for the rest of your stay! |

A great start to our holiday and the tour fully lived up to our expectations. Mark gave us a real taste of the city and took some great family pictures. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting New York for the first time but make sure you book at the start of your trip. |

My friends and I were in NY for the first time and our photo guide Mark could not have been more helpful and enjoyable. He knew what shots to take and where to go to get them. We had a blast. Even though an unpredicted rain came along, it did not dampen our adventure or our pictures - so we got wet, big deal. Make sure to book this for your first day in NY because Mark (while taking photos) showed us how to navigate the subway and we really got the lay of the land. Mark would take any picture we wanted, so let loose and get silly once in a while. You can't go wrong with this one - BOOK IT NOW !!! |

We would recomend anyone coming to new york to try out a photo trek tour. Not only have we got some great photos but our guide Marc made the tour interesting and pointed out areas that we would not have visited but for this tour. We now have some photos of new york that would have been impossible without this tour. Ten out of Ten |

I found the activity by chance when searching the internet for an attraction to celebrate my husband's birthday in NYC. The whole experience from purchasing the package to the actual tour was handled in a professional manner. We thoroughly enjoyed all the sights (i.e., Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Station, Central Park, Midtown, and Times Square. Our time with Mark was very enjoyable and comfortable. His personality was relaxing especially since it was our first time meeting him. He was willing to adjust the tour to what was to our liking. Although, we went with his recommendations which were right on track.
After many trips to NYC, it was during our tour session that we experienced taking the subway and becoming more familiar with our surroundings. I would recommend this tour to any one looking to see the city and to commemorate the trip with photos. I just viewed the CD and was very pleased with the results. This is something we may do again when we return to New York. |

A unique quick start guide to New York with photos

This was our first trip to New York, we had booked a 7 day stay and wanted to make the best use of our time there. As a mother and son family we had almost no photos of the two of us together, so when I came across Marc's photo tour of New York on the internet it seemed the ideal solution for us.
The other things that appealed to us were, Marc being a Native New Yorker, the tour being walking and subway, (rather than a bus) and a degree of personalization. My 12 year old son Damie is an avid Spiderman fan and wanted to see some of the famous landmarks from the films.
Marc arrived early and let us know he was in the lobby of our hotel (another plus point, being collected). We met a well-turned out and extremely personable Marc, who immediately went through the Spiderman locations he could build into the tour - we had opted for the 4 hour one. He also checked the New York landmarks we were most interested in e.g. Central Park as opposed to the Financial District, in our case. This enabled him to decide how much time and focus to place on each location.
Neither my son or I are naturals when it comes to being photographed, but Marc's expertise and quickness with his camera meant that we never had to pose or hold a smile for more than a few seconds. As a result we now have a disc of 200 professional photographs which Marc delivered to our hotel the following day. I know my son wouldn't have been willing to be photographed like this if I was holding the camera.
Marc was also very sensitive to my son's sensory difficulties, when Damie found Times Square a bit too much for him, Marc moved quickly on, but still managed to get some shots here. He was very open and easy to talk to and we both enjoyed our time with him.
At the end of the tour my son and I really felt confident about exploring New York over the rest of the week on our own, including using the subways, which Marc gave us a lesson in. We also felt we had received a comprehensive view of the city, visiting places we may not have got round to ourselves. With the portfolio of photos to take home from Marc's tour, we were able to spend the rest of our week in New York sans camera doing our own thing, including revisiting some of the places Marc had shown us.
This tour is unique and real value for money - I would recommend it to anyone visiting New York. |

We only had one day in Manhattan and wanted to see as much as we could. We found Photo Trek on the Internet and it seemed great for two single ladies visiting the City for the first time. We spoke with our guide, Marc Samuels, by phone prior to making the trip and gave him an idea of what we wanted to see. Marc made some excellent suggestions and we tailored the tour to our own taste and pace. Marc met us in our hotel lobby and the adventure began. In just 4 hours, we were able to see so much of this fabulous City--places we'd seen in movies and read about in books. At a comfortable pace, we visited areas such as Time Square, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, Trump Tower, Tiffany's, the spectacular view of the city from the Brooklyn Bridge, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Greenwich Village, Washington Square Park, Soho, Central Park, Grand Central Station, City Hall and City administration buildings and even a visit to the site of the former World Trade Center. The tour included many photo ops and we were invited to request specific shots as desired. Our guide was very professional, knowledgeable of the city, personable, an excellent photographer and delightful company. We continued to our next destination in upstate New York after the tour. Marc sent our photos via prirority mail and we each had a CD containing our photos waiting for us when we returned to our respective homes. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York. |

cannot praise this tour highly enough. Marc was incredibly professional and courteous too. We arranged this tour for myself and my best buddy, Pete and it must have taken us at least 35 - 45 seconds to bond with Marc !! Although we have visited New York on many occasions, to see the sights with a professional guide and then have some fantastic photos delivered to your hotel well within 48 hours is a such a brilliant idea and we would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone. In fact we did just that for a young Australian couple the very next day! Regards Keith |

Our Best of New York Tour was fantastic! I would definitely do it again and will certainly recommend it to my friends. We were scheduled for a 2 hour tour, but we actually received about 3 hours. Marc went out of his way to accomodate us in where we met to begin the tour and in giving us information on how to get to our meeting place. He also made sure we got on the right train for our next tour at Yankee Stadium and in making sure we knew how to get back to our hotel. We also got more pictures than we thought we would. Marc is very knowledgeable about New York, but he makes you feel completely comfortable and safe in the city. He could tell I was a little nervous about riding the subway, but he put my mind at ease to where I actually enjoyed it. I highly recommend this tour for anyone that is not familiar with New York. We had a great time, an experience my family and I will never forget!
Thank you, Marc.

It was well worth the money. Some of the pictures aren't real great, but thats more our fault then Marks. However, he advertisied 70 and took 126 so we probably got atleast 70 great photos. The backgrounds are post card. Everyone should try this experience. Mark has a wonderful personality and is a lot of fun and knowledgeable. |

Mark was very good with people. He made my husband and me feel at ease. He taught us to use the subway and to not be intimidated by it. We saw more things in four hours than we would have otherwise seen in a week. He took over 150 pictures of us and the sites that we visited. He delivered these to us on a CD the next day. Mark has grown up in the City and so also gave us the feeling that we were meeting a local. He was very professional and at the same time friendly. My husband and I enjoyed the "tour" very much. |
