PhotoWalks Tour of Boston's Beacon Hill

Very friendly and helpful with photographic ideas.

This is a good way to see some of Beacon Hill! Wear good walking shoes as you do encounter uneven surfaces with the cobblestones and bricks! Saba gave good photo tips but I would have liked more info on the history of the area, i.e., why it was important in Boston history and so forth!

Nov.17, 2011 Camera Walk Having read many reviews about the 20 person group tours, I arrived at our meeting point with a little trepidation, but trying to keep a positive outlook. I quickly realized there were only 8 of us on this warm, slightly overcast fall day. Saba made us feel so welcome and gave us many historical references and stories, as well as great camera tips for each photo opportunity we encountered. She kept telling us how lucky we were to have this overcast day without too much sun intrusion. This was a wonderful experience and I came home with some memorable shots. I continued to take photos the next day on the walking "freedom trail" remembering tips from Saba. I would highly recommend this tour especially in the off seasons of spring and fall so smaller groups are possible.

An excellent way to view the City with tips on how to be creative with your camera, with the added bonus of having help at hand. A most enjoyable experience, which I would book again and again.

The guide was excellent, fun and motivating however the group was much too large. We were too spread out, had to wait in lines to take a photo and the event was not as intimate as it should have been. It was not expensive but being a local person, I can easily walk around Boston and take photos at no cost. I think the photo tour is for more for tourists, although I would have enjoyed it more had there been 1/2 the people. Thank you.

A very good balance between the historic and cultural information and the photo taking tips. Great ideas about composition and how to "see" things you wouldn't haven seen by walking on your own. Saba is very passionate and very kind;

I LOVED my Photo Tour and I can't wait to do another one. Saba was very helpful and pleasant as well as informative. My only criticism is that the group was too big for the time we had to take the walk (there were 20 of us). We had to wait in line to shoot and be the time the last person got their shot the group had moved on and missed the next talk on the tour. I want to go back and take pictures in the area again on my own but I didn't hear all of Saba's suggestions. I would definitely take another Photo Tour with Saba. It was also great value. I would pay $50 if there were a limit of 10 in the group and maybe go 1/2 longer so each person had the time that they needed to get the shots.

I've done 2 of the PhotoWalks Tours - Boston Waterfront & Beacon Hill. That having been said, I would not have taken the second tour if I felt that it was not worth my time and/or money. I highly recommend Saba and her PhotoWalks. She gives both historical information, as well as, valuable photo tips during the 90 minute tours. Saba is very pleasant and makes every effort to see that her customers' questions are answered and that they enjoy themselves. I think that she does a great job and that her Photowalks Tours are a good deal for anyone interested in learning a little about Boston and in taking photos of this great city of Boston!

I had a great time on my PhotoWalks tour. Learned a lot of history & received great suggestions for taking creative photographs of the city. Saba gave an excellent tour & was very personable, called everyone by name.

I participated in the Back Bay Walk and the Public Garden Walk and enjoyed both. There were only three of us on the Back Bay walk and we each had point and shoot cameras. Saba trained our eyes on door knockers, windows and street scenes that would be missed on the usual tours, all the while providing interesting information about the area. I managed to take postcard quality photos, and used the newly gained knowledge the next day as I visited and photographed other Boston sights The Public Garden tour had about 9 people with varying types of cameras. I noticed that she gave very helpful advice to those with SLR cameras as to best settings, etc. Saba also helped me find optimum settings on my Point and Shoot as well as continued tips on interesting composition and techniques. on my next visit, I will do the waterfront tour. Owner,guide Saba offers well-planned tours, is prompt, manages to spend time with everyone and is a delight.
