This is a fun tour, thought up, organised, executed and lead by Scott who is both a nice guy and a complete pizza nerd. You get to visit and sample pizza at 4 restaurants which tourists would probably never otherwise visit and its fun riding around in a yellow school bus. We now know how to assess a pizza by looking at its underside and exactly what are the proper cheese, tomato and flour that should be used for the best pizza. We also all about the different kinds of pizza ovens and are in danger of becomng pizza bores ourselves! None of this knowledge applies much to Domino's but its all good. Also the little gifts and quiz prizes on the tour are great fun too and we had good amusement getting Scott to change his pronounciation of words like basil and oregano to British english for our benefit. Highly recommended. |

I highly recommend this tour. Scott was a fantastic host. He is enthusiastic about pizza, it's history, evolution and taste. We went to four terrific restaurants and had a great time learning about pizza and tasting the pizza at each place. |

This is truly an amazing tour. Scott is the most entertaining guide, and knows a LOT of stuff about pizza.
The pizza places we visited were incredible, we got to see a coal-burning brick oven and understand how it works. At the end of the tour you can tell if a pizza was cooked in a regular deck oven or in a brick oven. Scott teaches how to read a slice of pizza, identifiying the type of cheese, sauce and crust.
We tasted several types of pizza, from most balanced to cheesy-greasy.
We had a wonderful time, you should't miss this tour if you are in NYC |

First I must say that this was one of the first activities that we have done since my wife suffered a stroke back in December 2008. I e-mailed Scott several times about my concerns and worries and he never once gave any indication that she would have difficulty with the tour. This provided great comfort to my wife. For those who have been affected by a difficult medical condition, the psychological healing that needs to take place is as crucial as the physical healing. Scott did everything he possibly could to make her feel comfortable and include her in all parts of the tour.
As far as the tour.....amazing and educational (in the most fun way possible). Scott is beyond enthusiastic for the subject and this is another reason why it is so enjoyable. You feel like you've just met this guy who is taking you on a private visit to these great pizza joints. We have all been on tours given by a guide who is more interested in anything but the tour - but not Scott. Nothing is phoney. His enthusiasm is not fake. I never once got the impression that this was his job and I mean that as the highest compliment.
For most people, this is probably something fun to do while in NYC. For our group, it was much more. I am grateful for Scott's enthusiasm, pizza knowledge, and attention to his customers - we will be back. |

We LOVED Scott and his pizza tour. He was funny, friendly and a fantastic tour guide. The locations he picked allowed us to see Little Italy, the Bronx, Queens and Harlem. My 3 teenage daughters and husband said this was their favorite day of sightseeing in New York and we were there for seven days! We would highly recommend it! |

Scott is a very enthusiastic and knowledgable tour guide. I had a great time learning about the history of pizza as well as truly paying attention to the distinct tastes, textures and flavors of the various types of pizza. As a native Manhattanite, I had a great time exploring the pizza in the outer boroughs as well as areas I rarely venture into in Manhattan (Harlem). I would recommend this tour to both locals and tourists. It was a fun and different way to spend a Sunday afternoon. |

We were really excited to go on this tour and Scott was brilliant. However, the tour needs to include more pizza and be a bit shorter!!! It starts at 11am so we passed on breakfast in order to be able to indulge. It took four and half hours and we had ... four slices. Having spent $180 bucks, it was a bit annoying to feel the need to go and spend a further $100 at a diner afterwards to fill the hole in our stomachs. Scott - all you need to do is finish with two slices and a complimentary glass of wine, beer or lemonade, and people will be happy. Or, two slices to start with and to finish, with more options to buy drinks during the tour. Never had so much water and this is supposed to be a celebration of sorts. The rest is outstanding, the trivia quiz a definite, and the knowledge first rate. |
