great tour with enthusiastic guide

I thoroughly enjoyed this pizza tour. It was a great way to see the city and sample some of the best pizza NYC has to offer! The guide was passionate about pizza and was knowledgeable about the history of pizza itself and of its spread throughout America. I would highly recommend this tour for kids and adults that are looking for something fun and different to do in NYC.

The Perfect New York Afternoon
Sun, Jul 20  11:00 AM eunicealicea Female 30-39 Local Other
Being a native New Yorker and having lived in Italy, I am a tough critic: sarcastic, cynical and picky...so hear me when I tell you - this IS the "must-do" thing to do in New York City. First, Scott is personable, friendly, enthusiastic and sincere, he loves what he does and it elevates the entire experience. However Scott takes a back seat to the premiere attraction - pizza, and gladly so. If you think you know pizza, you haven't been on this tour. It runs the gamut on locations and we even got to see Coney Island and Astroland one last time...however he rotates Burroughs, which for any New Yorker, is a treat. If you're a native New Yorker DO THIS TOUR and if you're not DO THIS TOUR. Scott is accommodating and I am tempted to return and book a private tour for my family! Kudos to you Scott, well done.

Gastronomical Delight
Mon, Jun 23  11:00 AM hiandi Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
While on Scott's Pizza Tour, being educated about pizza and what goes into making a pizza good, made me appreciate each bite I took. Each slice of pizza we tasted was a gastronomical delight bursting with the flavors of the crust, sauce, and cheese. At each location we visited, the owners explained their love for their pizza and how proud they were to have us taste them. Whether the pizza chefs grew their own herbs, developed their special crust, or made their own cheese, each story had us appreciate our pizza, when it appeared, even more. Our guide, Scott, was exploding with energy while he described the pizza we were about to taste. His knowledge of the history of pizza and the areas we visited was extraordinary. We even visited the place where the pizza ovens have been made for years. I certainly suggest going on the tour for a fun and delicious day.

Incredibly Awesome and Delicious Pizza Tour!
Mon, Jun 23  11:00 AM tmorly Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Scott (of Scott's Pizza Tours) runs the most delicious tours you will ever experience. During our four-hour tour, we visited four different brick oven pizzerias throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Scott will drop tons of pizza knowledge on you throughout the entire trip, and by the end of the four hours, you will know way more about pizza than you ever could imagine. One of my favorite parts of the tour was visiting Bari, the pizza oven and equipment manufacturer, where we got a sneak peak into the world of pizza oven making. Overall, Scott does a great job and I couldn't have asked for a better tour. Highly recommend.

Delicious, fun and very informative
Mon, Jun 23  11:00 AM jrobin4 Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
I had such a good time and really enjoyed Scott explaining all about the pizza history and the ovens they are cooked in - I looked forward to doing a walking tour sometime in the near furture. And I can't wait to go back to some of the restaurants that were on the tour to eat at them again as a couple of them were really awesome! The owner/chefs from these restaurants were all so nice to our whole group, so it was great that were we able to meet these people as they added to our experience. So I high recommend taking this tour more than once.

A great, leisurely weekend activity...
Sun, Jun 22  11:00 AM kahaugen Female 20-29 Local Group of Friends
The tour guide has a clear passion for all things pizza - from the cheese, to the tomatoes, to the crust.... His detail and history of each venue add another level of depth to the pie...He gives new meaning to the triangle slice with a touch of humor on the side. Although beware of the bus, tends to get a little hot, so bring some ice cubes for the ride... Oh, and you most certainly can eat 4 slices.
