Great way to discover New York pizza
Fri, Apr 10  11:00 AM dbarclay Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We visited new York as a family - me my wife and three teenage sons and booked Scott's Pizza Tour from a link on a website. Scott was a terrific guide, full of authentic, authoratative pizza history and anecdotal stories about New York. We saw pizza being made, we learned about mozzarella cheese, we learned about pizza ovens, we saw pizza ovens being built, and of course we ate pizza! My sons all agreed it was a highlight of our week in New York. It involved a fair amount of walking, and we were lucky to have good weather. Strongly recommended. Barclay family, Worcester UK

Charming and unusual tour captures NYC's essence.

Scott's pizza tour is a delight. The three-hour walking tour never dragged and the frequent stops, and pizza sampling, kept the kids interested. The tour has it all--history, architecture, great pizza joints, odd facts about SoHo, Little Italy, and the Village. A little offbeat and totally charming. Can't recommend it highly enough. Next trip we'll book for the weekend bus tours to outlying boroughs.

Excellent tour, a must do when visting NY

The tour was very enjoyable. In reallity we mainly booked this tour for our two sons, but I have to admit, both my Wife & I got as much enjoyment out of it as the Boys. Scott is a very enthusiastic guide and he makes the tour fun whilst keeping it very informative. Once you have taken the tour, you will find youself becoming a "Pizza Critic", looking at the way your Pizza is presented and cooked. We highly recommend the tour as a must do, when visiting New York,

My thoughts

I'll probably never look at or taste pizza in the same way. I feel that my pizza senses have been heightened, which may be a bad thing since all we have in my hometown are the national chains like Pizza Hut or Papa Johns!

Great fun which comes highly recommended

Saw this tour on Tripadvisor and it was hard to say no. It definitely met (and probably exceeded) my expectations. Scott is so enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour was just over 3 hours..the majority of the time is spent outside, so wrap up well. We visited 3 pizzerias, an Italian deli, Italian pizza-oven factory, all around the little Italy and Greenwich Village area. Scott is local and knows the area very well, so was able to give us a running commentary of the area, both pizza related and unrelated. Overall this was great fun, something different and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Even though it rained, we had a wonderful time on the tour and learned a lot about one of our favorite foods! Scott's passion was contagious as he described his discovery of NY Pizza's roots in Naples and how it came to be in Manhattan. We loved all the different types of Pizza we ate and learned how to tell the difference. Now, we are pizza connossieurs! (check spelling) My husband said it was the hightlight of the trip and we would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone and anyone who likes pizza!

The perfect mixture of history, local knowledge and great degustation. Scott is a walking encylopaedia of all things pizza related. He his engaging and the tour is genuinely interesting plus the great pizza. I have already recommended it to everyone I've met since doing it and a couple of friends from Brooklyn should be booking soon!

A really great tour if you enjoy pizza! Scott was a brilliant tour guide and had a real passion for pizza which rubs off you too. He told us stuff about pizza making that you never even think of. Eating the pizza was good too.
