I can't recommend this tour too highly. It is a great way to spend three hours in New York. Scott is a brilliant guide, and has such a depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject that you can't fail to to go away without feeling that you are now also a "pizza expert". We initially booked on the basis of other reviews and they are all correct and every one should be five stars. For those familiar with the Carlsberg adverts, "If Carlsberg did Pizza Tours............"

The Crosstown Pizza Walk with tour guide Joanne Ling was a marvelous highlight to our week in NYC! Joanne is a very personable, knowlegeable and engaging guide, who led us through the history of New York pizza, as well has a chunk of the history of the Italian immigrant NYC experience. The three pizza places where great and very, very tasty. The stop at the cheese shop and the pizza oven fabrication shop were equally fun and informative. We had a great time, and would strongly encourage others to take this tour with JoAnne.

We loved the pizza tour! Scott was amazing and such a great tour guide. We toured on my 30th birthday and he even had the staff at Lombardi's make me a sundae! We will recommend to everyone that goes to NYC!

Scott was a leader with a lot of enthusiasm who knows his pizza! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and of course loved eating the pizza at three different locations. Mom Gina, Aunt Debbie, and sons/nephews Daniel and Bram from London Ontario Canada

Scott really knew his stuff, and we learned about the history of pizza in NYC, how ovens vary, how dough works and tasted great pizza.

Scott is very knowledgeable on pizza - was interesting to learn the way the original ovens are heated - ie coal; here in California we use wood! Was fun to experience the different kinds of pizza and he was good with my 9 year old grandson. Would recommend for something fun to do.

Scott's Pizza Tour was one of the best tours I have been on - ever. Yes, ever. I have done the North End Italian Tour in Boston, China Town Tour in NY City, Site seeting tours, you name it. Scott's energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm was definitely contagious for the entire group - and from the business person traveling (me), and family of 5 -we all had something to learn and share after each pizza stop. Scott provided advice on how to make pizza dough, (he would ask first, "What kind of crust do you want?" to fit your palate- and then share with the pizza dough and tricks on how to prep the pizza in your home oven. (Yes, a pizza stone does make a difference!) Removing air bubbles to get that tender crust - how to toss the pizza yourself. Scott's lively dialog and conversation with our group - had us anticipating each location and "Pizza tasting" ". But it didn't stop there..along the way, we meet the oldest running pizza oven place and a kitchen supply pizza store (25% off!) and where to go for the best olive oil, cheese, etc. in the neighborhood. His love of pizza is contagious and unlike other tour guides, who amy get that glazed look and tired drone with repeating the same things on every tour...not Scott! He effortlessly makes you feel like you a special guest on his beloved Pizza journey. Plus, you remember things after this tour - Iike what are the best tomatoes for pizza sauce? (Surprise: canned tomatoes!!), and what to look for in cheeses, dough, etc. He has a warm and inviting relationship with the Pizza shop owners and provides interesting history and pictures to supplement his conversation. (Wall photos, magazines he carries with him that you can tell he reads cover to cover, even a book on "Tomatoland" - a book on tomatoes! ) I highly recommend this tour! 3 hours of pure delight, delicious pizza and a warm, engaging, fun tour guide that makes you want to stretch (NOT ROLL,...STRETCH) the pizza dough out with him. He even showed pictures on of the different pizzas he has made...different combos, you would not even dream of....banana pizza for dessert? (think Bananas Foster ). If you do anything in NY city - do this tour and learn about hidden gems of pizza locations! (and no, this tour was not in Little Italy in NY city..I'm sure they have great pizza..but Scott takes you to different non-tourist places!) Enjoy!!

Scott really loves pizza. You can tell he loves pizza genuinely and loves to talk about pizza. We chose the 3 hour walk so tasted 3 pizzarias. We definitely could've had more! It was very informative and fun. It's a great way to try out the famous pizza locations since a lot of the places require you to order an entire pizza and if you are traveling by yourself or just with a friend, you may not order an entire pizza. This was a great way to get a slice from each place and if you like it, you can always go back yourself! That's what we did! After this tour, we became even more interested in seeking out different pizzaerias and are eating pizza with a new perspective, thanks to Scott's tour! I highly recommend this tour!
