Fantastic pizza tour in NYC!

We booked this tour for my husband's birthday and it was amazing. We are travelling from Australia where the pizza is fairly ordinary so were super excited to try the best New York pizza. We were not dissapointed :-) We found this tour on You Tube in a review of the best things to do in NYC. Scott and Alexis are lovely people with great knowledge of all things pizza. They were also happy to answer questions we had about NYC in general. We highly recommend this tour!

This was my second time going on the pizza tour- I went this past January with my sister and had such a great time. I surprised my friend with tickets for her birthday this time and she had a blast! Scott combines the perfect amount of fun and information to create an atmosphere that is comfortable, interactive, and just plain awesome. The historical/scientific tidbits he shares make the tour just perfect for foodies as well as those interested in science/history. When Scott found out that I was a returning customer, he purposely tailored the tour so we didn't visit any "repeat" pizzerias. He truly cares about his clientele. In addition, his enthusiasm for pizza (and boxes, tomatoes, cheese...) and life is positively contagious. I can't wait to go back for a third tour!

My 13 year old daughter and I took this tour and had a great time. Our guide was Cedric and he had so much great information to share about pizza and the history of pizza in NYC. The walk is very manageable and you are immediately served at each of the 3 pizzerias with no wait. Now, you only getv1 slice at each place so don't go starving and thinking you are at an endless pizza buffet. We had a great time, saw a gorgeous neighborhood and left feeling slightly full but not sick from being stuffed. I would certainly recommend this. If you are lazy, try the Brooklyn pizza tour by bus. It is also delicious and tons of fun!

I thought I knew a lot about pizza, Scott must have a PHD in Pizza making. I own my own wood fire pizza oven and he had me on the edge of my seat because I didn’t want to miss a word he was saying. Very animated with his gestures, extremely funny and just a plan great host/tour guide. I will definitely go again!!

Scott was our tour guide and he is extremely personable! His knowledge of the history of pizza and their differences was very interesting. We saw pizzas made in different types of ovens and tasted all of them. A fun tour and very filling!

This was a well orchestrated tour. The guide was extremely personable and knowledgable. This was a good change of pace from the traditional landmark tours most tourists take in NYC. Well done. The pizza itself was good and restaurants chosen provided a good variety as to different styles of pizza. I do think that the tour was a bit overpriced but there are deals out there for it. (Think Groupon, Living Social, etc.)

Our tour leader Scott was a walking encyclopedia of pizza lore as well as a very engaging and funny guy. I certainly didn't know that it only takes a minute and 40 seconds to bake a pizza in a coal-fired oven, or the fine differences between coal, wood and gas-fired ovens. We went to four establishments in Manhattan and the Bronx and compared a basic cheese slice from each so any toppings wouldn't mask the quality of the basic recipe. Did the tomatoes come from California or Italy? Was the cheese fresh mozarella or not? Each restaurant had its own vibe and its own take on the glorious pie, and overall the experience was wonderful -- except the yellow school bus was kinda bouncy!

The tour was really interesting and funny! Cedric was our guide, and he took us in three very different kind of pizzerias, showing us the two faces of pizza in NYC: the Italian-style pizza and the NY-style pizza! The walk was pleasant, with curiosities and fun facts about pizza! Our "colleagues" where all Americans, and we spent a good time chatting with them! Thank you very much! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Love my pizza

I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza tour. I liked two out of the three choices of restaurants. I will go back to Keste and John's. However, I did not like having to stand in the the street at John's and eat my pizza. I prefer to sit and savor. Thought our guide was informative and fun. I would recommend.

Scott is passionate about pizza, and made the 3 hours a lot of fun, and pizza was excellent. Will not be able to have chain restaurant pizza ever again! Would highly recommend for parents and teenagers, and/or any generation pizza lover. Will definitely do one of the other tours again.
