Learned so much about the making of pizza, ie: coal oven vs wood oven vs electric/gas pizza ovens. Scott was very knowledgeable about pizza, including where to get the best pizza in our hometown. He was so enthusiastic, and we could tell he had done all his research!! Would highly recommend this tour!

We couldn't have enjoyed our Pizza Crawl more!

We looked forward to the pizza, which WAS outstanding, especially the varieties, but what was the surprise was Joanne's ability to tell a story about the origin of the food, the preparation, the tools, and the restaurants. She was great: informative, patient w/ the crowd, and very personally engaged. The tour was great, and well worth the $$$. We were also relieved that you rescheduled for us after a funeral interfered w/ our original date. Thanks so much. I will definitely recommend to friends.

Surpassed my expectations!

What a fantastic tour. Our tour guide was Joanne and she was funny, engaging, and very knowledgeable not just in pizza, but in everything from the neighborhoods where pizza was born to the actual ovens used by the original pizza makers. Can't say enough - a "must do" tour for anyone who loves pizza and wants to learn everything about it. Highly recommended!

Scott is very enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable and passionate in what he does. We enjoyed the tour tremendously and now have a new found respect for Pizza Restaurants and will now always appreciate what it takes to create this masterpiece and the history that follows it.

My boyfriend and I have been to NY many times and don't typically do "touristy" activities, but many of our friends have gone on - and loved - this tour so we booked it without hesitation :) so glad we did! Three hours passed quickly with Scott leading us through the streets of New York armed with literally all the knowledge you could ever want to know about PIZZA. We returned home a few days ago and can't stop talking about the trip - it was probably the highlight of our week!

Fantastic way to spend an afternoon!

Our family was highly anticipating this tour, and Scott did NOT disappoint! Who knew there was so much to learn about pizza! From the ingredients in the crust, to where the tomatoes were grown, to how the cheese is made, to the temperature of the oven; Scott knew it all and did a fantastic job of sharing the information. His passion for pizza was evident from the beginning and I just can't say enough good things about this tour. Scott was happy to share his wealth of knowledge not only about pizza, but general questions about NYC - places to go, things to do, etc. And his relationship with the pizzeria owners was terrific, especially Louie at Sam's - we felt like we were sitting around Louie's family table chatting about this and that over a great slice of pizza. I cannot recommend this tour enough; we intend to do one of Scott's walking tours the next time we are in NYC.

We really loved this tour. Scott was amazing - he's passionate about what he does, knows more about pizza than anyone I've ever met and is friendly and personable. These three qualities made the tour a truly memorable experience!! I would definitely recommend it!

Go if you Love Pizza!

Being a native New Yorker and lover of pizza I thought this be a fun activity to do for my birthday. Scott the tour guide was so enthusiastic about pizza that it made for a memorable tour. You stop at 3 different pizza joints all different from one another based on the size of the slice and quality of pizza. You also stop at a restaurant supply shop that sells mainly items to pizza places in the country. The tour is about 3 hours and does require a lot of walking so if you dont like walking this isnt the tour for you..its about 1.5 miles. Anyhow, I would do the tour again and I would recommend it to my friends and family.

This was one of my most favorite tours EVER!!!! Scott was a wonderful tour guide and provided a lot of information about pizza, its origins, and how and where to find the best slice in town! If you like pizza even a little bit, this is a must do when you are in New York!

Fantastic - highlight of trip

We went on Scott's Crosstown walking pizza tour earlier this week and it was fantastic. We walked from Lombardi's near Little Italy over to John's Pizza in Greenwich Village, visiting The Pizza Box in-between. Our kids, ages 8 and 11, LOVED the tour and are still talking about it. Scott is great with kids, loves their questions and enthusiasm. Scott knows everything (or almost) about pizza and he is infectious. The tour is a mix of pizza history, what's going on now and a ton of fun. We cannot recommend this highly enough, a great addition to any trip to NYC.
