Our group consisted of two families of three (one child in each group ages 11 and 14). The kids wanted to take this tour and to our surprise this tour exceeded our expectations. Scott was our tour guide and he was very knowledgable about all aspects of pizza. He made the tour very enjoyable and this tour is the highlight of our three days in the city. We have told many of our friends about this tour and would recommend it to anyone travelling to NY. |

I booked the Cross Town Pizza Tour with Scott as a birthday present for my boyfriend who loves pizza, as we were in NYC over his birthday in March.
I cannot recommend the tour enough. It was a cold wet day when we went out but Scott's enthusiasm is infectious and we ended up not really feeling the cold and just enjoying the day. It's rare to find a tour guide who has a genuine passion for what they're teaching or sharing with you, Scott was comparable to a disney/universal guide in terms of his eloquence and ease in front of a crowd and he's very entertaining and quick witted.
More than this you can tell he has a great relationship with the restaurateurs and business owners you encounter on the tour which make the whole experience very relaxing, like your hanging out with friends. Furthermore you learn a lot, I won't give anything away but I came away excited to try to make my own traditional pizzas. The best part is on any other tour you have to stop and pay extra to eat, the pizza along the way in some of the best I've tasted so you're well fed and entertained for a reasonable price - 10/10! |

We had a great time learning the history of the pizzerias in New York! The pizza was yummy, and, bar none, no one could beat Scott's knowledge or enthusiasm for what he does. We had a great time. The only thing that I would change would be less "standing" time (when not moving) and MORE pizza! We had 3 slices, but I could have easily enjoyed another 1 or 2 :) |

Scott is truly an amazing person. The tour had only 2 openings available and I needed 4 tickets. A Zerve representative suggested I email Scott to ask if he might consider opening the tour to 2 additional persons. Nearly as soon as I hit send on the email, Scott was on the phone with me letting me know that he would be delighted to add my group of 4 to the trip. I was very impressed w/ Scott and the customer service I received. In addition, my group consisted of 2 persons (mid-20 yr olds who live in NYC), a 17 yr old and me (we live in MD). Everyone enjoyed the tour largely because of Scott's enthusiam and knowledge of pizza history. The pizza slices were very tasty from the 1st and 3rd pizza places we visited. I most certainly will attend another pizza tour when visitng NYC w/ friends and/or family. AFter the tour, Scott added me to his email blog. I enjoyed reading his pizza adventures. Well worth it!!!! |

This was our second bus tour and my own third tour (I've been on a walking tour too). Scott is a bottomless source of pizza knowledge, history and -- most importantly -- enthusiasm! Scott tries to make the environment comfortable for families, groups of friends and couples. Scott knows the boroughs so well... we can only hope that he plans a Staten Island and/or NJ tour sometime (the traffic is typically prohibitive). We |

On our tour with Scott, I was the oldest and my grandson was the youngest. The tour had universal appeal. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The walking pace was very comfortable for me. And Scott was very accommodating to my grandson, especially when Scott asked him to help test the temperature of the pizza. Scott involved everyone with questions and answers. It was a friendly group, and the pizza was delicious! |

Scott knows more about pizza than I thought it was possible to know about any subject. His enthusiasm makes this tour definitely worth taking and I would highly recommend it. Oh yeah, and the pizza was really good too haha |

This tour was an excellent journey through the evolution of pizza en route from Italy to New York. Our guide, Scott, was enthusiastic and informative about every aspect of the subject. We sampled 4 styles of pizza at 3 different pizzerias. Scott explained the differences between the ingredients, preparation, pizza ovens and the final pizza result. This tour was unique, interesting, fun and delicious! Scott welcomes questions, and his knowledge about pizza was amazing! It was obvious that he enjoyed presenting the tour as much as we enjoyed participating. |

What a fun tour! Joanne was great - highly knowledgable, enthusiastic and engaging. There were 3 pizza stops (2 delicious, 1 not bad) within easy walking distance of each other. Nice pace and we learned everything we would ever want to about pizza and its NYC roots, as well as the neighbourhood landmarks. We will definately try one of Scott's other tours on our next visit. |

Our guide, Joanna, was very entertaining and well-informed on the topic of NY pizza. Some interesting history was shared during and in-between our pizza stops. I would have preferred to try more varieties of pizza rather than just the marguerita style at each establishment (although they were very good). I could also have managed one more stop - three was good but four over the two hours would have been better even if the slices were smaller.
A nice feature of this tour was being able to walk around the Village and see the shops. My daughter and I stayed in the area after the tour and enjoyed a nice coffee and dessert and did a little shopping. In our week in NY we didn't manage to have to time to return to this area so we were happy to have spent one afternoon there.
Small suggestion - complete the tour at the Italian Bakery with the cannolies just down the street from the last pizza place - yum! |
