A really great tour if you enjoy pizza! Scott was a brilliant tour guide and had a real passion for pizza which rubs off you too. He told us stuff about pizza making that you never even think of. Eating the pizza was good too.

This was an excellent activity for our vacation. Scott definitely knows his pizza, and did a great job with the group. I will definitely recommend this pizza tour to anyone who travels to New York for business or pleasure. This would be a great family activity as well. We had a good time--thanks, Scott. We hope to see you again someday. Mary and John Michaels St. Paul, Minnesota

This is a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

This is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. Scott is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You will learn more than you could ever imagine about the history of pizza in New York. We stopped for slices at three places. They were all very good although I am a deep dish guy so I cannot rate quality thin crust. Be hungry! The stop at Alleva cheese shop is great. The food there is incredible. You see many interesting sights along the way walking from Little Italy, to the Bowery to Greenwich Village. The former site of CGBG, the Bitter end and places involved in pizza history. Highly recommended.

A Must-Do in NYC!!!
Sun, Mar 29  11:00 AM candkrich Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
When planning this trip to New York for my daughter's birthday - - we told ourselves that we had to get a piece of the best pizza in NYC. While searching the internet to find where the best slice could be found - - we realized that (in a major undersatement) that is very debatable!! In the process, we stumbled upon info. for "Scott's Pizza Tours" and booked the tour!! Well, we were not disappointed. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Scott makes this tour: Unique / Really Fun / Informative / Very Tasty!!!! He is a neat guy and after you take the tour you will realize that this is what he is supposed to be doing!! As far as the best slice? Well, our tour included Manhattan and Brooklyn (visited via the big yellow school bus) - - and I know my favorite place, now - - - but I can't name any names - - - you need to decide!!!!! I kid you not - - whether you're a local, or tourist - - this tour is awesome!!!!

Lots of interesting information

Scott is obviously totally obsessed with pizza and loves sharing his knowledge. The tour was well organized, the pizza was good (each in its own way), and Scott's expertise was the definite highlight. Something different to do in New York that takes advantage of the culture of the city but isn't a typical tourist activity. Great for former New Yorkers (like me) who have already done most of the city's usual attractions.

Scott was one of the best tour guides ever. He made everyone on our tour feel comfortable. Our group ranged persons from all over the Domestic US ages 16-70. We all had a blast and left with full bellies and enlarged understandings of pizza history. I would do it again in a heat beat.

I just loved this tour...Scott is enthusiastic, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about pizza! We not only got to visit (and eat at) 3 excellent pizzerias, but we also got to sample fresh mozzarella at a historic dairy and meat shop and even got to see where pizza ovens are still made just around the corner from fancy shops and museums. When I first heard about this tour, I was worried that it might be super touristy or not quite the type of NYC experience I was looking for. In fact, it turned out to be fascinating and a great way to learn about the history and culture of an important part of the city. Plus, the pizza is delicious!

I highly recommend this tour if you like pizza at all. It is about how pizza is different and why. Scott is very personable and funny. He was very organized and the tour went very well. You will learn about the history of pizza and also a little about the area where the walking tour is. It is a very easy walking tour, anyone can do it. The pizza that you get to try out is some of the best pizza you will ever have.

I'm from New York City and thought I done everything there is to do. My 14 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the walking tour. It was well paced - ratio of walking to eating, interesting, educational, delicious.

Best tour I've been on!

Scott has so much knowledge about pizza its crazy. Unlike most tours, this one never gets boring. The tour took about 2 and a half hours, beginning in Little Italy and ending in Greenwich Village. He even added a little rock history showing us where CBGBs once was and passing by The Bitter End which is where many famous musicians got their start. I wasn't too sure what to expect on this tour but I have to say I am glad that we did it. It was easily one of the high ponts of my vacation. Because we ate some great pizza, got to check out the pizza ovens that baked our yummy pizza, and saw a lot of the city. You will also walk away with a lot of information and history of pizza and how it became a staple in NYC. Thanks so much Scott.

Read about the tour on trip advisor and read the reviews there. Wasn't sure at first whether it was a bit too off the wall but the tour didn't dissapoint, it's exactly what it says and Scott is the most informed Pizza geek I've ever met. Since returning home I found myself recounting this part of my visit to NY more that the others (Scott I can't find san manzano tomatoes anywhere). I know all about the ovens, baking, history, ingredients, varieties of pizza and consider myself an unofficial pizza gourmet. The weekend tour we took is carried out on a yellow school bus which is a novelty to us foreigners and attending pizza restaurants in areas we'd never go to (Harlem, Queens and the Bronx) only added to our enjoyment. We ate with the NY Fire Department sitting in the same restaurant and a gleeming tender outside (Photo opportunity). We mixed with others on the tour more than a traditional sight seeing bus simply due to the zaney situation we were in. At the end we came back not realising four and a half hours had passed and stuffed with pizza. Well worth a go and althougn very specifically centred around pizza a great and refreshing break from the standard and expected tourist stop offs.
