It was really fun to get an insider's view of pizza and food in the city. We felt like we hit the jackpot getting to taste some of the best slices in town. The kids enjoyed it and the walking was the perfect amount. Loved getting a feel for the neighborhoods as we walked and learned about history of NY and history of pizza. |

This was our first full day in NYC and I can only say it was a great way to start the holiday. Scott clearly loves Pizza, I dont think I have ever met someone that loves Pizza or anything else so much.
Loved the idea of the School Bus a classic icon of America, so to travel around on one was fun.
Excellent Value for money, we wouldnt have gone in the outer boroughs, so to visit pizza places out there allowed us to watch out the window as we drove around between pizza joints.
Along with the pizza slices, the history of NY pizza and Scott loved how friendly everyone on the tour was, and such a wide range in age and places everyone was from
Suggested must for anyone with a free Sunday morning, local or international |

I'm not normally a fan of organised tours - I like to do my own thing, but I made an exception in the case of Scott's Pizza Tours, and I'm really glad I did!
I was in NYC for my birthday for a week from Nov 13th 2010, and took the bus tour on Sunday Nov 14th.
Meeting Scott was great, he asks everyone where they're from whilst checking them in and talks about how the pizza is in their home areas. As I am from the UK Scott was interested in how the pizza is over here (generally not that great!), and he's massively enthuiastic about what he does. It must be great to do something you are so passionate about for a living!
The restaurants we visited were superb, starting at Lombardi's - the first pizzeria in America - which was a place I intended to visit anyway was great, and seeing the coal oven in action (and feeling the heat!) was really great.
We then went to Luzzo's (also in Manhattan) which was also very tasty.
After that it was off to Brooklyn, which for me was the highlight of the tour. The two restaurants we went to there - J&V's in Bensonhurst and Sam's in Cobble Hill - were amazing to see. Such a contrast between them and the Manhattan places and both run by genuine characters.
After the tour, I hung around for a bit of a chat with Scott and he gave me directions to a couple of good beer bars (as beer is my other favourite thing aside from pizza!), and he was spot on about those places too.
If you're ever in NYC and love pizza, you should definitely take a tour with Scott. You will be rewarded with a fun day out with great food run by an energetic, passionate and friendly guide in Scott.
In a word, AWESOME!

I never knew there was so much to know about pizza. Scott is very friendly, very knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, and most importantly, very entertaining. Neither the tour nor the pizza is likely to disappoint. |

The only way to try New York Pizza

Scott's pizza tour was the only way (in my opinion) to get a taste of what New York pizza is about. We stayed in the city for 3 days before the tour and resisted all temptation of having a slice of pizza until we went on the tour itself, and very glad we did. There is so much choice in New York, you could leave the city without ever having tried the good stuff and what a travesty that would be!
Scott took us on the walking tour (in the pouring rain mind you) but as soon as we met up with him he lifted our spirits and we forged ahead with the tour and we hardly noticed the poor weather at all.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys a good slice and wants to learn a bit of history behind how and where it all started. A++++ |

Scott is an amazing guide and his tour is extremely fun. He not only knows everything about pizzas, he knows about ovens, immigrants, economics, and New York - we were enthralled throughout the bus tour.
I HIGHLY reccomend. Next time we'll definitly try the walking tour. |

Scott is awesome and energetic. We got lucky and there were only three people on the tour that day, so we got a more personalized tour. Learned a lot about pizza and New York. Thanks Scott! |

We really enjoyed Scott's pizza walk. First, obviously, the pizza itself was amazing. Aside from that, Scott was knowledgeable not only of the culinary topics of pizza, but the historical, anthropological, and chemistry aspects as well. It may sound a little geeky, but you have to be a little geeky if you're considering a pizza tour! Really, despite all the "learning" that's happening, the tour shines because of Scott's enthusiasm and passion for pizza which is displayed in a humorous and entertaining walk. |

Just the right balance between walking eating and learning. One possible improvement would be to serve only the best pizzas, I know this is different from everybody, but the middle stop was a pretty average (at best) pie. |
