This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide, Scott, was very knowledgeble, friendly and a truly nice guy. We didn't know there was so much to learn about pizza! We took the bus tour, which gave us the oppurtunity to get out of Manhattan for the afternoon. We visited a pizza shop in Harlem and one in the Bronx along with two in Manhattan. Take this tour, you won't be disappointed.

Scott is extremely enthusiastic, and his passion for pizza is completely authentic. Even if you aren't that into pizza, you'd probably have a good time just enjoying the show. But don't be fooled - this is all about pizza. How and where it started in NYC, the different methods and ingredients that are employed, and the different styles that exist all within the vaunted category of "New York Pizza." This is not a food fest cramming as many slices into your belly as possible. It is a true walking tour, including historic sites, and places of importance to the process. But of course, the main attractions are some significant NYC pizzerias, and they don't disappoint. Note - you won't get a seat at each venue due to the crowds, but even when standing and eating outside, it is totally worth it. You'll enjoy different types of pizza and be encouraged to think about and share what makes them unique, and what you liked or disliked about them. Scott is passionate about the pizza, but not interested in telling you what to think - he'll inform your own thoughts to help you understand what you like or don't like so you can find pizza you'll love in the future. In short, I was impressed with Scott for his combination of creativity (really energetic and fun presentation) and organization (logical tour layout and he carried a binder full of really useful pics and info). He is commited to providing an excellent experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the time, and I'd strongly recommend it.

I booked this tour after checking out the trip advisor rating and comments, I also had a good look at Scott's website. I didnt have the highest expectation of the tour - well I couldnt see what you could really fill on a Pizza tour in a 3 hour slot - we both of course looked forward to it but I cant say I was too excited when we got on the subway. However, cheers Scott, it was absolute quality. This guy is great fun - he certainly knows his buffalo cheese from his cheap Kraft singles and he knows where the best 'joints' in town are for serious good scram!! We had a really good laugh, the food was spot on, and i am sure its a matter of time before you see this man on cable with his own blindfold 'guess the tomato sauce' comp... So would I recommend it - well YES. Great value for money, good fun and a chance to hit the streets of little Italy and SOHO. It also gives you a legitimate excuse for cramming in the pizza while hitting your cardio 10000 steps for the day (surely all gyms are missing out on this trick??) Go on, book it. Its good fun Paul & Claire Garstang, UK

Read about the tour on trip advisor and read the reviews there. Wasn't sure at first whether it was a bit too off the wall but the tour didn't dissapoint, it's exactly what it says and Scott is the most informed Pizza geek I've ever met. Since returning home I found myself recounting this part of my visit to NY more that the others (Scott I can't find san manzano tomatoes anywhere). I know all about the ovens, baking, history, ingredients, varieties of pizza and consider myself an unofficial pizza gourmet. The weekend tour we took is carried out on a yellow school bus which is a novelty to us foreigners and attending pizza restaurants in areas we'd never go to (Harlem, Queens and the Bronx) only added to our enjoyment. We ate with the NY Fire Department sitting in the same restaurant and a gleeming tender outside (Photo opportunity). We mixed with others on the tour more than a traditional sight seeing bus simply due to the zaney situation we were in. At the end we came back not realising four and a half hours had passed and stuffed with pizza. Well worth a go and althougn very specifically centred around pizza a great and refreshing break from the standard and expected tourist stop offs.

I went on Scott's Pizza Tour with my girlfriend, her cousin, and a friend. We had an awesome time! Seriously...awesome. Scott is an excellent guide who really knows his pizza. He is a guy who took his passion and made a career out of it. It was an excellent tour with great pizzeria choices. We really had a great time and I would absolutely go again. Highly recommended.

What could be better than walking around NYC on a beautiful fall day, being entertained, and having a few slices of great NY pizza. Scott was interesting, fun, and had an almost scarely knowledge of pizza. I highly recommend this tour.

I really enjoyed the Pizza Tour. Scott was so enthusiastic and full of information. He was fun to be with. The pizza we tasted was delicious. I especially liked the stops at the other related stores e.g.Alleva Dairy, kitchen supply. I would recommend this tour to anyone. It's a wonderful way to to expenience some parts of NYC that might not have been on past routes. I definitely will go back to the pizza restaurants.

Even though it rained, we had a wonderful time on the tour and learned a lot about one of our favorite foods! Scott's passion was contagious as he described his discovery of NY Pizza's roots in Naples and how it came to be in Manhattan. We loved all the different types of Pizza we ate and learned how to tell the difference. Now, we are pizza connossieurs! (check spelling) My husband said it was the hightlight of the trip and we would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone and anyone who likes pizza!

Our touor guide was knowledgable, enthusiastic, fun, descriptive, enlightening. He thoroughly enjoyed his subject and his tour, and he shared every bit with us. The destination sites were well chosen. By focusing on basic pizza and discussing the differences in baking technniques, ingredients, and ovens, we got a wonderful chance to compare a seemingly pedestrian food to discover a surprisingly sophisticated result. I took Scott's brochures and cards to work for some enthusiastic guerilla marketing.
