Fun and informative
Wed, Jun 29, 11   11:00 AM WeeFifer Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Individual
I really enjoyed Joanne's company, she was enthusiastic about the tour, the history of pizza and the role it plays in the city of New York. Now that I am home I find myself able to recount the tour in great detail and the pizza itself is delicious. I really enjoyed walking around listening to the history of Little Italy and there were really good touches such as sitting down to eat the first pizza so you get to know your fellow tourists a bit better and a view of the pizza oven with the chefs hard at work as well as a wee goody bag, and also the chance to taste fresh mozzerelle from the Deli and seeing the pizza ovens being manufactured by Patsy. I liked sitting in the park for the next slice, again with historic content, and the last pizza slice was eaten in front of the restaurant. Thank you, I would definitely recommend this tour.

We had the best time on our tour with JoAnn and have been highly recommending it to all our friends since. I live in New York but had family members visiting for the week, and it was the perfect way to discover new parts of the city and sample some incredible pizza. The 3 hours flew by and I am ready to sign up for another tour when my next group of visitors arrive!

My husband and our two daughters took this tour. We really had a great time. It was a great way to get a pizza education, eat great pizza and see parts of the city we'd never see on our own. I would highly recommend this as a great family outing.

Great Tour

Scott took us all over little Italy, the Bowery and Chinatown and this guy knows so much about the origins of pizza you would think he invented it himself. Has a lot of useful information on where it comes from, how it came to America and the places in NYC where they make pizza ovens, fresh cheese and the "Godfather of the brick oven, Vinny" who we were lucky to run into on our tour. This is well worth the price and you get to eat some great pizza as well.

Question: Who carries around cans of tomatoes!?
Sun, Jun 26, 11   11:00 AM spinac Female 30-39 Local Other
Answer: SCOTT DOES! If you ever wanted to know anything, and I mean ANYTHING about pizza (and the tomatoes that go on them), Scott is your man. My dad and I had a great time on the bus tour (visiting NYC & Brooklyn), and we plan on doing one of the walking tours in the fall. Scott is personable, entertaining and all-knowing about the pizza universe. You will not be disappointed! Or left hungry, that's for sure...

Who knew there was so much to learn about pizza? Scott knows it all, and relates it in interesting and informed chat during the tour. He takes the time to talk with each individual, and is extremely knowledgeable about pizza history, baking, ingredients, etc. The tour was very interesting and well worth the money.

Enjoyable tour for scenery as well as great pizza

Scott was so knowledgeable about everything Pizza from the ovens to the toppings and sauce. He made it very enjoyable. The bus tour was very good as we got to see parts of N.Y. that we would not have travelled to. Also, the various pizza styles were all so delicious it was hard to pick a favorite. I have recommended to others.

This was a great tour with a very informed guide! Scott knows pizza inside and out! He was very excited about the topic and the tour was very organized. We, not only tasted great pizza, but were taught the differences in baking methods and ingredients as well as the history of pizza in our country. Be ready for a lot of walking but also a lot of fun.

Such a great activity! Scott's enthusiasm is contagious. And I'm convinced there is nothing about pizza that he doesn't know. And seemed to have a pizza restaurant recommendation for every tour guest's hometown. Very impressive! I think I was smiling for the entire 3 hours of the tour. Do this when in New York!

Fantastic tour in the city with a pizza enthusist!

This tour was simply great! I haven't taken Scott's Crosstown Pizza Tour, but the Greenwich Village one takes you to three pizza places that all offer something different. We learned the history of Neapolitan, New York, and Sicilian style pizzas, while appreciating how pizza has shaped our culture. Even though we were from out of town and had a lot of places we wanted to see, this tour was so unique and definitely the highlight of our trip. Scott and Joann's enthusiasm for pizza really took the tour above and beyond and made a food-lover feel right at home!
