Scott is The Man
Sun, Mar 20, 11   11:00 AM isles16 Male 30-39 Local Individual
Scott is knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. If he ever gets tired of giving the same spiel about pizza places he's visited over and over, he didn't show it at all on the tour I went on. I had a great time, learned a lot, and enjoyed some great fresh slices. I'm inspired to keep exploring the NYC area's best pizza places.

Very knowledgable but a little long

Scott is so enthusiastic and clearly passionate and knowledgable about pizza, as well as friendly. But on a four hour tour we expected to eat more than three slices of pizza. There were several times that we stood on a sidewalk for quite a long time so he could expound upon the virtues of coal ovens vs. deck ovens, or low moisture cheese in slices vs. shredded cheese with oil, etc. I felt like we could have had those conversations while also munching on pizza, and cut the tour to 2 or 3 hours. Lombardi's and John's were fantastic but the Pizza Box in between was bleh. He was sweet to the one little girl who was on the tour, but there was a lot of walking and talking so probably not great for young children. Cute gift back with a branded notebook (for taking notes on pizza of course)

You'll love pizza EVEN MORE than you already do!

Scott Wiener's love and passion for pizza is unlike anything I've ever encountered. Not only does he know everything there is to know about everyone's favorite food, he knows how to share this love in a way that makes you excited about pizza in a way that you never thought you could be. He took our group to three delicious yet strikingly different pizza places and gave an incredible (and incredibly interesting) amount of information on the history and culture of the establishments. Not only do you feel like you've got a better appreciation for pizza, you really feel like you're getting more in touch with the fabric of New York. Pizza is a huge part of the culture of the city; rather than feel touristy, this tour makes you feel like part of the true culture of New York. It was a great afternoon, and I can't wait to sign up for a bus tour. Scott is a funny, charming, and genuine guy whose enthusiasm is infectious. If you love pizza, food culture, history, New York, or just interesting facts to share with people, you need to take this tour.

Scott's Pizza Tour was a great experience.

Even though friends had highly recommended the tour, I was skeptical. How could a pizza tour be that much fun. I found out as soon as I met Scott. Scott's enthusiasm was contagious. He made every aspect of the tour interesting and his knowledge pizza was amazing. I've been telling everyone back home about the tour. It was well worth the time. I would take the tour again.

I've been on this tour twice now and Scott has to be the most enthusiastic person I've ever met - and that's before he even starts talking about pizza. He's very welcoming to us international types (Scottish) and is happy to provide recommendations to you for after the tour, if you survive the pizza coma. Unmissable for the pizza related puns alone. Also exceedingly knowledgeable about pizza and all of its ingredients. Even the water.

More fun than you might imagine

OMG ... This experience was so enjoyable. Yes, you learn more about pizza than you thought possible; and even if you think you don't want to learn about pizza, join this "pizza journey romp". Scott is the most wonderful, entertaining guide; you just can't help but have the best time. All the sampled pizza slices were scrumptious, but differed from each other. Pizza differences were jotted down in notebooks found in our 'goody' bags, which were thoughtfully provided by Scott. Further, Scott is incredibly expert and knowledgeable about the area and, in addition to eating pizza, we learned a considerable a bit about "Little Itay" and the first families that arrived there. Just a fabulous fun, learning and 'out of the ordinary' NYC outing. Do you know there is even a pizza magazine?

Great experience, Scott got me excited about pizza

Love the tour, it was interesting and I learned a lot about the history and core elements of pizza. My favorite was definitely Lombardi's, I prefer the authentic southern Italy version over the new york style. I have already recommended the tour to friends. Thank you!!
