Great day - Scott seemed to genuinely enjoy schlepping all over the lower east side with a bunch of strangers, giving them the most amazing pizza experience

We took the bus tour on November 14th and still haven't stopped talking about it. WHAT A BLAST! Scott's knowledge off all things pizza is amazing; his excitement is genuine; and his enthusiasm is contagious. Not to mention, the pizzas were delicious! We plan to take the walking tour in the spring and have highly recommended Scott's Pizza Tours to all of our friends. If you're looking for a true taste of NYC, don't miss this tour!!!

An Epic Trek of Pizza Goodness!

I'm not normally a fan of organised tours - I like to do my own thing, but I made an exception in the case of Scott's Pizza Tours, and I'm really glad I did! I was in NYC for my birthday for a week from Nov 13th 2010, and took the bus tour on Sunday Nov 14th. Meeting Scott was great, he asks everyone where they're from whilst checking them in and talks about how the pizza is in their home areas. As I am from the UK Scott was interested in how the pizza is over here (generally not that great!), and he's massively enthuiastic about what he does. It must be great to do something you are so passionate about for a living! The restaurants we visited were superb, starting at Lombardi's - the first pizzeria in America - which was a place I intended to visit anyway was great, and seeing the coal oven in action (and feeling the heat!) was really great. We then went to Luzzo's (also in Manhattan) which was also very tasty. After that it was off to Brooklyn, which for me was the highlight of the tour. The two restaurants we went to there - J&V's in Bensonhurst and Sam's in Cobble Hill - were amazing to see. Such a contrast between them and the Manhattan places and both run by genuine characters. After the tour, I hung around for a bit of a chat with Scott and he gave me directions to a couple of good beer bars (as beer is my other favourite thing aside from pizza!), and he was spot on about those places too. If you're ever in NYC and love pizza, you should definitely take a tour with Scott. You will be rewarded with a fun day out with great food run by an energetic, passionate and friendly guide in Scott. In a word, AWESOME! Chris Groves, UK.

This tour was fantastic. We don't usually take tours, but we love pizza, and we love walking in NYC, so we thought we'd try it. Scott is the best tour guide ever. This guy lives and breathes (and loves) what he does. Highly recommended.

I never knew there was so much to know about pizza. Scott is very friendly, very knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, and most importantly, very entertaining. Neither the tour nor the pizza is likely to disappoint.

This time we had Joanne as our guide. She was wonderful, Scott taught her well. Wish we could have sat down at Johns - but the pizza was terrific. My niece really enjoyed herself.

The only way to try New York Pizza
Thu, Nov 4, 10   11:00 AM brettc0381 Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Scott's pizza tour was the only way (in my opinion) to get a taste of what New York pizza is about. We stayed in the city for 3 days before the tour and resisted all temptation of having a slice of pizza until we went on the tour itself, and very glad we did. There is so much choice in New York, you could leave the city without ever having tried the good stuff and what a travesty that would be! Scott took us on the walking tour (in the pouring rain mind you) but as soon as we met up with him he lifted our spirits and we forged ahead with the tour and we hardly noticed the poor weather at all. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys a good slice and wants to learn a bit of history behind how and where it all started. A++++

Scott provided us with an excellent pizza tour, the whole tour was interesting from start to finish. Scott is really enthusiastic about pizza and makes the tour really fun. If you like to eat pizza, this is a great tour, you get to eat slices in different pizzerias and compare the different pizza making styles. The walk around the different neighbourhoods is great because you get to see parts of the city you may not ordinarily walk around. I would really recommend this tour as a great way to spend a few hours - but don't eat a big breakfast beforehand, you will need your appetite for all the pizza!

Scott is an amazing guide and his tour is extremely fun. He not only knows everything about pizzas, he knows about ovens, immigrants, economics, and New York - we were enthralled throughout the bus tour. I HIGHLY reccomend. Next time we'll definitly try the walking tour.

My boys and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Though it is listed as 3 hours, they said that the time flew and they did not notice the walking. We learned so much about pizzas, crusts, tomatoes, mozarella...and got to taste a few pizzas that were cooked in different ways. I particularly enjoyed the fact that we got to stroll through Little Italy and the Village, stopping off at local food producers. I look forward to spending more time in that area on my return. Our favourite...Lombardis.

Scott is awesome and energetic. We got lucky and there were only three people on the tour that day, so we got a more personalized tour. Learned a lot about pizza and New York. Thanks Scott!
