GO ON THE PIZZA TOUR; YOU'LL LOVE IT!

I took my boyfriend on Scott's Pizza Tour last weekend for his birthday, and we had an absolute ball. The pizza was obviously delicious, we learned more than we even knew there was to know about pizza (and especially pizza in New York), and Scott was totally entertaining AND informative the whole time. We loved it, I fully recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York or even people who live here like we do and just want to know where to go to get the very best New York pizza!

Not just a pizza tour...

I must say after this tour concluded I was pleasantly surprised that my husband and I not only received a tour of some of the best pizza that NYC has to offer but we also saw quite a bit of the neighborhoods. We started out in Little Italy (of course) but we then popped into Chinatown and saw quite a bit of Greenwich Village. Being a tourist (yes - I'll admit it), it was nice to get up close on personal with the city streets. Scott even shared quite a bit of NYC history outside of the pizza world. However, do not mistake his intention. He is all about the pizza and well he should be....that's what we signed up for! Scott definitely makes this tour worthwhile. His infectious charm and enthusiasm for the subject matter really made everyone have fun. It was definitely one of the best things I've done in NYC and have done quite a few of these tours. Be sure to come hungry because the pizza really is that good!

I booked this tour after checking out the trip advisor rating and comments, I also had a good look at Scott's website. I didnt have the highest expectation of the tour - well I couldnt see what you could really fill on a Pizza tour in a 3 hour slot - we both of course looked forward to it but I cant say I was too excited when we got on the subway. However, cheers Scott, it was absolute quality. This guy is great fun - he certainly knows his buffalo cheese from his cheap Kraft singles and he knows where the best 'joints' in town are for serious good scram!! We had a really good laugh, the food was spot on, and i am sure its a matter of time before you see this man on cable with his own blindfold 'guess the tomato sauce' comp... So would I recommend it - well YES. Great value for money, good fun and a chance to hit the streets of little Italy and SOHO. It also gives you a legitimate excuse for cramming in the pizza while hitting your cardio 10000 steps for the day (surely all gyms are missing out on this trick??) Go on, book it. Its good fun Paul & Claire Garstang, UK

This was a true highlight of our visit to NYC. Scott is a pizza fanatic. I thought I loved pizza until I met him. It was so entertaining, informative and delicious that the over 3 hours seemed closer to 45 minutes. Besides a nice walking tour of a couple of Manhattan neighborhoods, you get some of the best pizza in town, a summary of the history of cheese pie in America and more. Not to be missed. The Food Network needs to take this tour.

This was a GREAT tour! Scott MAKES it!! It was funny, entertaining AND an education in pizza!!! I went back to 2 of the 3 pizza places and took three people with me - they loved it too. My US friend is just a little bit concerned......because I have mentioned Scott at least once a day since the tour!!!!!!! LOL

Excellent Tour!

Tough to imagine this tour being so good without the unbridled enthusiasm and knowledge of host Scott. Whilst the pizza sampling was osum (especially Lombardi's), he just made the event so worthwhile by introducing the classic Italian Deli, the oven factory etc etc. He is a bit of a legend.

Pizza Tour

All I can say is, if you are a fan of Pizza and want to know anything and everything about pizza, then this tour is for you. Scott is very enthousiastic about Pizza but I didn't find it infectious unfortunately. The Tour started great and we had a sit down pizza, saw inside the coal oven and it was a very good slice of pizza. We then went for quite a walk and ended up at a wholesalers for bread making machines, pizza utensils, etc which we thought was a bit odd, but as it was a pizza tour, maybe not? We then visited two other pizza places but just ate outside in the square or on the pavement (not sure what would have happened if the weather was poor). From the second place to the third place we had about a 15 minute max. space inbetween eating our pizza. It was a bit rushed in the end but we couldn't wait to get away.... We thought it would be a bit about pizza, information on the areas and a tour of some really interesting facts. It was all about pizza and a very long winded 3 hours. I would only recommend if you are "really" into pizza. Sorry!

The pizza tour was filled with fun as well as delicious pizza! I was actually very impressed by Scott's profound love for it and how much more there is to it than we actually would've imagined. We got to go behind the scenes and look at how the oven works and how it is made.

An AWESOME tour!!!!!!!

You should absolutely take this tour! We covered a good amount of Little Italy and part of Greenwich Village as we visited 3 pizza places and a great restaurant supply company. Scott is so passionate about pizza, and makes sure that you get lots of history, great food and tons of fun! He is knowledgable and professional, outgoing and all around perfect for this job- that probably explains why everyone who knows him along the walking route has to say hi or ask how he's been. We will take this tour again the next time we are in town, it was educational and fun- you will be surprised to see how much "pizza science" there is to the process! Not to mention the pizza was fabulous!!!

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide, Scott, was very knowledgeble, friendly and a truly nice guy. We didn't know there was so much to learn about pizza! We took the bus tour, which gave us the oppurtunity to get out of Manhattan for the afternoon. We visited a pizza shop in Harlem and one in the Bronx along with two in Manhattan. Take this tour, you won't be disappointed.
