Guide should have provided more info to the group instead of to individuuals as we walked along.
Smaller pieces of pizza from more restaurants would be a better idea than three large slices that had to be eaten standing outside in two of the three places. Guide talked about some of the other places, but we did not get to sample those pizzas.
What was the point of going into the store that sold restaurant merchandise?
Additional history and info about the area would have improved the tour. |

We enjoyed Scott's enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the subject matter. Our tour was in the Village and it was nice getting to explore, not just some yummy pizza, but the Village itself. Scott went out of his way to be accommodating, going as far as trying to help us find a special kind of cheese we wanted to bring home with us. There didn't seem to be anything he wouldn't do in order for us to have a good time. It was a lot of fun, and something different from the tours we've taken in years past. This is the 7th year our group has been visint NYC and it's nice to have a new option for meeting local people and getting insight into the many things NYC has to offer. Keep up the good work, Scott! |

Scott has to be the best guide I have ever been led by. He is so enthusiastic and passionate about pizza you would swear you were family being introduced to the best pizza spots of NY. His energy is contagious and infectous! I don't think there was a question asked he couldn't answer with supporting documents, photos, or, with the assistance of some gadget! He is the Ultimate Pizza Man! |

What a fun day! I treated my 13 year old neice to a birthday weekend in New York and this activity was super fun! I will NEVER have pizza in my life again and not think about what I learned on the tour - about flour, tomato sauce, cheese, oven type, dough, etc. Scott's enthusiasm is amazing and made the topic of pizza even more interesting (if that is possible!)
I noticed the range of people on the tour was from about 6 to 66+ and there were couples, families, groups of friends, etc. It seemed that everyone enjoyed it!
I have already suggested this as a "must have" for a weekend trip to NYC and to my brother who lives in the city for a fun date activity.
I hope to go again and tour different restaurants next time I am in town. (I live in the midwest.)
Enjoy it! |

Now, the reason why there are no negative reviews about this is there's nothing not to like (unless, of course, you don't like pizza :). Scott was just as amazing as all the reviews said- he's got a dynamic personality who makes you feel like you're out on the town with a friend. Our family loves pizza...travels great distances for great pizza (we live north of Boston and good pizza is hard to find)...and often make trips to NYC just for pizza. My husband and I have loved Lombardi's for many years so this was a great opportunity to try other styles of New York pizza...all similar but SO different as well. We loved them all! I don't think I've ever done a tour before where I said "hmm, I'd do that again" but I would DEFINITELY do Scott's tour again. He goes to different places each time...and different areas of the city so there is always an opportunity to try something new. Next time we'll bring our 3 kids- all pizza lovers- as they we very sad we didn't bring them home any leftovers! |

Friends recommended that we try Scott's Pizza Tour while visiting New York and I'm so glad that we did! Joanne, our tour guide was not only very knowledgable about the history of the area (and pizza, of course), she was very entertaining! I am now inspired to try making Lombardo's pizza, which I felt was the best of the three pizzas. I felt three slices of pizza was plenty for me but if you are still hungry after the tour, a trip to Rocco's for a delicious pastry should fill you up nicely.
I would definitely recommend Scott's Pizza Tour! |

We did enjoy the tour but were disappointed it wasn't given by Scott. That was one of the main reasons we had booked it. However it was a good group and the tour guide was knowledgable. Three nice slices of Pizza and there was extra for some people so no one went hungry. |

My husband and i have lived in New York for years and travel here regularly. We thought we had seen it all, but this was a fresh, new look at the city. Informative, funny, thoughtful, and delicious, we recommend this tour to inveterate new yorkers and visitors alike. you will learn so much about immigrant history, the making of pizza, and a wide array of tidbits that you never knew you would find so interesting. Scott is delightful and his tour well worth a try. Thank you Scott for this fresh and tasty take on a city we love. |

My sister and I were looking forward to the pizza tour, and we were NOT disappointed. Scott is passionate, considerate, informed, and has a real zest for pizza/food/life - wherever we went, everyone stopped and listened to him, he is very infectious.
This was a wonderful way to spend a beautiful sunny day in Manhattan. Lots of information, great food, and laughs. Scott really knows his stuff and loves to share it. We enjoyed walking through the different neighborhoods and learning more about them.
Super fantastic day!
Thanks, Tracy and Karoline from Calgary |

I would recommend the tour to anyone except a family with small children as there is quite a bit of walking involved. I enjoyed hearing about the history of pizza and getting to go behind the scenes at some restaurants and even the shop where the pizza ovens are made. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable and made us laugh a lot. Now I know which places to go to for pizza when I return to New York in the future! |

I must have misunderstood the tour description. I thought it was going to more of a pizza tasting - trying many different kinds of pizza. instead it was very detailed info, lots of lecturing, and only 3 pizza places.
But Scott is really good at the tour, he is super enthusiastic, he knows a ton about pizza, and he's super nice and friendly. Plus the 3 pizzas you try are full slices and leave you stuffed :) |

We had a great time on Scott's Pizza Tour. We knew we would eat some great pizza (and we did) but had no idea we would learn so much, and have so much fun while doing it. Scott is awesome at what he does. He is warm, friendly, engaging, and the most enthusiastic booster of the World's Greatest Food. The most fun we've ever had on a guided tour. |

All of the glowing reviews are right - this is a super super fun, unique way to experience New York, and a food that unifies all of us. Scott is well studied in the subject, and has infectious love and passion for pizza. I felt great supporting his business, but also had a genuinely great experience. I can truly say that the tour changed my perspective on pizza.
My husband and I were visiting from Austin, and he gave us his top recommendations in OUR town, as well. Fun!
We took the bus tour, which allowed us to get outside of Manhattan to Harlem and The Bronx.
Do it! |
