LOVED it.

Scott's enthusiasm and knowledge made for a brilliant tour. He's a massive unashamed pizza 'geek' and was friendly and accomodating to everyone on the tour. The pizza places he took us to were great - in particular, Lombardi's... yum. That place is awesome. Would recommend this to anyone visiting New York for something different.

Scott is lovely and very enthusiastic about his subject, he also takes you around (in my opinion) to the best areas of New York. He knows waht he's talking about, and as a result you get to eat the best pizza too! Highly recommended

The Pizza tour was the highlight of our trip

My son and I were in New York on a foodies vacation. He is the General Manager and Chef at a Pizza restaurant and wine bar in the midwest. We had a great time, Scott's knowledge of pizza is amazing. My son learned a lot and got some great ideas. I would think anyone that has a interest in pizza/New York would like this tour. Our group ranged in age from a child to retired. There was a guy from the neighborhood in our group, people from from both coasts of the United States and in between and a couple from England and a couple from Australia. Scott made it interesting for all of us. I would recommeded this tour to anyone that is interested in why their food is what it is and why it isn't all the same. Plus the tour includes a lot of New York history. And New York Pizza is really good, you get to eat 3 different kinds.

Scott is a very knowledgable tour guide. He made the experience a lot of fun, and interesting. The locations we visited had history, and very good pizza. I would recommend the tour for anyone looking for a fun day, and hungry for pizza.

Most Fun I've Had on a Tour in Years!

A fabulous ride. Josh is a perfect tour guide -- friendly, voluble, and extremely knowledgeable. The four pizzerias we visited (Lombardi's and Patsy's in Manhattan and Louie & Ernie's and Patricia's in the Bronx) ranged from very good to excellent. The tour went off without a hitch, and a great time was had by all. I might do this tour again next year!

Fun, informative, better than you'd ever expect

Learn about the history of pizza, see where mozzarella is made, see the oldest pizza places in New York, listen to hilarious stories about pizza, and see where pizza making machines are made. Scott treats pizza like wine - knows how it's made, knows everything there is to know - about ovens, the way it's cooked, the families that make it, everything. Scott's knows everything about pizza, is always researching, always listening. take this tour. it's better than any new york city tour i've been on, maybe better than any tour i've been on. Scott has tried literally thousands of slices around the world. When an Israeli tourist walked by and asked for a brochure, he knew all about how Israeli pizza is delivered and how it tastes. After eating some of the best pizza in NY, we asked him what is his favorite of all time. Even though Scott has had some of the best and highest quality pizza, and pals around with the oldest pizza families in NY he's far from a snob or strict person about pizza. He always says if you like it, then it's good. His favorite pizza is from his hometown pizzeria in New Jersey, the slice he had when he was 8 years old.

Scott's Pizza Tour was my favorite activity in NYC. He is so enthusiastic about pizza and pizza history that it was making me excited too. It was great to see all the sights and hear all his stories about the origins of pizza in America. And the slices along the way were great!

The History of Pizza in 3 Hours
Wed, Sep 30, 09   11:00 AM jdmckenzie Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Scott provides not only the history of pizza as we now know it but adds to the science of pizza-making, including the different gluten properties of summer and winter wheat, water pH in the New York water basin, etc. And he does this with incredible humor, personality, and FUN! The unique walk through Little Italy and Greenwich Village makes you feel like a part of the New York culture. Scott's devotion to you on this tour and his passion for pizza is unsurmountable.

Scott is an engaging and entertaining tour guide who teaches you way more about pizza than you ever thought possible. It's a great way to spend a few hours in New York, well worth your money and time. I have a whole new appreciation for pizza, I now feel like a pizza connoisseur.

Excellent tour for tourists and locals

As though walking around town and eating pizza wasn't a good enough way to spend a Saturday afternoon, Scott's Pizza Tour completely exceeds expectations with a mind-blowing breadth and depth of pizza expertise. As evidenced by the rest of the reviews, it's obvious that Scott's relentless pizza research and travel has really made the tour top notch. As a local, outside of picking up a few new fave pizza spots, I particularly appreciated learning about a dairy shop that claims to be 'the oldest Italian cheese store in America' (amazing cheeses at seriously affordable prices) and a pizzeria supply store that puts Brooklyn Kitchen to shame. As someone who is generally adverse to structured tours and those who go on them, I've got to give it to Scott for pulling together such a pizzawesome adventure.

Great, unique fun, but......

This is a great activity if you've done the usual tourist attractions and are looking for something different. Scott is personable, and his enthusiasm for pizza is infectious. He's gone to great lengths to study the history of pizza in NY, as well as what unique elements combine to make NY pizza the triumph that it is. I had hoped the activity would be a little more of a culinary adventure, with stops at the best pizza places in Manhattan, but found it to be more of a tour of historically significant pizza places. Still - a really fun thing and different thing to do, especially with a teen!

What could be better than walking around NYC on a beautiful fall day, being entertained, and having a few slices of great NY pizza. Scott was interesting, fun, and had an almost scarely knowledge of pizza. I highly recommend this tour.

You'll never look at pizza the same
Fri, Sep 25, 09   11:00 AM mjstaats Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My middle aged , but young at heart, book group took the tour on a beautiful fall day with Scott. We learned so much about pizza, its construction and history and any other interesting fact you'd care to know. You will get a slice of life in Lower Manhattan...don't want to say too much since being surprised is part of the fun. Not sure it would have been quite so much fun if it rained. We ate our second slice in a little park across the street from our second pizzeria with Scott serving us as we rested on scattered benches. Scott is fun, enthusiastic, thoroughly devoted to learning all there is to know about pizza. The enthusiasm is infectious( in a good way). Take the tour.
