Scott is hands down one of the most passionate people I've ever met. And man does he know about pizza!!
We met at the site of the first pizzeria in America and then walked around Soho, learning about the origins of pizza in New York. We visited the oldest cheese shop in America (Alleva) for a sample of freshly made mozzarella.
Then we went to 3 pizzerias - the first (licensed as the first pizzeria in 1905), with a coal oven and fresh moz, one with the quintessential New York giant greasy slice, and finally a descendant of the first pizzeria, which used a coal oven but aged cheese.
All along the way, we learned random pizza history and facts, as well as other New York history, and got to walk all around interesting neighborhoods. We also visited a restaurant supply store and a tiny factory where they make pizza ovens by hand.
Scott is a terrific tour guide: very friendly, approachable, fun to chat with, and entertaining. This tour is great for singles, groups of friends, couples, and families - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone! |

My wife and I went on a bus tour with Scott this past Sunday. We visited 4 pizzerias and it was a great time. One in Manhattan, One in Harlem and two in Brooklyn. We dont think we could rate this tour any more highly.
We originally signed up for the walking tour on Saturday, March 20 as there was not a bus tour offered on Sunday when we first signed up. When Scott decided to do a bus tour on March 21, he was very accommadating. We thought is was a good value...awesome pizza..and very entertaining... THANKS SCOTT!! |

The tour guide did a great job. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The places that he picked were great choices. However, we felt that the tour could have been a little shorter. We had gone on the tour looking to find great pizza and we learned a lot about the history of pizza and the ovens. This was fine but we would have been fine just eating the pizza and hearing about the history as we were eating. But it was overall a great tour and we got to see parts of the city that we normally wouldn't of seen. |

This tour needs a higher star rating. My wife and I would have given it 6 stars rating if it was available. You know in college or high school when a teacher comes along that makes you fall in love with the subject based solely on the teacher's enthusiasm. That's Scott! Fun, Informative, and Engaging. Will take friends on the same tour next time we are in the City. |

Scott has put together a tour that is more than just about great pizza. It's about the history, economics, politics, immigration, and social factors that are the makeup of this country. No visit to NY is complete without this experience. |

If you're considering touring Alcatraz island, you need to put that thought from your mind, fly to New York, and go on Scott's Pizza Tour! If you've never seen the Liberty Bell, immediately leave Philadelphia and drive north on I95 until you're on Scott's Pizza Tour! Scott is a wealth of interesting and arcane knowledge. This is what Jeopardy would be like if Alex Trebek gave you some great slices instead of money. And, I guess, if you paid him for them first. I think at one point Scott was simultaneously explaining hundred year-old brick oven technology and fighting off a bear. Scott's Pizza Tours cured my arthritis, too. |

We had a really great time on this tour because we have an appreciation for expert knowledge and enthusiasm and Scott has both in spades. I admit I had never really thought beyond 'thin and crispy, or deep-dish?' but this has changed my thinking of pizza for the better forever. Best of all, we left the tour feeling happy and upbeat for the rest of the day just because we had so much fun. |

Even though it rained the entire time we really never noticed it because Scott kept us enjoying every minute. Scott's knowledge of the history of pizza in NY and especially Little Italy give us a new insight of NY and we can't wait to go back to that area to take in more of the food and sights. Great job Scott! |
