Scott's Pizza Tours

I have been eating pizza for my entire life. I have known good pizza and not-so-good pizza, but before this past Sunday I never knew why I liked the pizza I liked, aside from that it tasted good. Scott's enthusiasm for pizza was extremely contagious, and we all caught the fever that day. His genuine excitement about the food and what exactly goes in to making the different styles of pizza we sampled made us all want to learn more about this staple of the American diet. One of the best parts is that Scott did not preach that the pizza we ate on Sunday was "the best" (although it was extremely delicious). He told us all that the purpose of the tour was to introduce people to different styles of pizza and how different types of pies are made, such as giving us the opportunity to sample pies made in wood-burning, coal-burning, and gas ovens. Scott's enthusiasm for the pizza was nearly matched by his enthusiasm for the people on the tour. He made the time to talk to everyone and made the tour a personal experience for us all. If you are worried about filling up - don't! While all the pizza was heavy on flavor, most of it was made with a thinner crust and was lighter to eat. While Scott's unique personality and genuine entusiasm certainly set this tour apart from any other I've taken, the owners/managers of the pizzarias we visited were also extremely accomodating, knowledgable, and friendly, definitely adding in a very positive way to our experience. Perhaps the best part is that Scott provides "goody bags" for everyone on the tour that include lemon candies (palate cleansers), Hershey kisses (dessert), a gummy pizza, and a pad and pen, which were especially useful for those of us who plan on returning to the pizzarias we visited and share our newfound knowledge with friends and family. Of course, no scribbled notes could replicate the fun and signature way Scott has imparted his knowledge and entusiasm for pizza! TAKE THIS TOUR!

Totally recommended. Scott is THE Pizza Guy. Seriously, this guy's enthusiastic approach to pizza making, pizza history, New York pizza, and everything Pizza related is contagious. Fun and informative! We had a truly great time!

Scott is friendly, funny and fabulously knowledgeable about pizza. The whole experience was such a treat. I'm telling all my friends when they visit New York that they HAVE to go on Scott's tour! I'll definitely go again when I'm back in New York.

I am a big fan of Scott's Pizza Tours. It was fun for the whole family, as they say. Scott knows more about pizza then you could possibly imagine. Added to that, is the fact that I had the best slice of pizza I have ever had on that tour. I loved it, the kids loved it and I thoroughly recommend it.

Great pizzas, fun and informative. Met pizza lovers from all over. Inspired me to explore the pizza offerings in my hometown and to experiment with pizza-making at home. I'll be sure to check out another neighborhood tour the next time I'm in NYC. I highly recommend Scott's Pizza Tours!

This tour was fantastic. Scott and Miriam are amazing guides, not only to the history and progression of pizza in NYC, but to the wonderful, authentic neighbourhoods they lead you through during the tour. Scott is like Toronto's "King of Kensington" - a neighbourhood fixture who seems to know everyone. I learned a lot of fascinating history on our walk and also enjoyed three slices of incredibly delicious pizza! We sat down in the first two restaurants and ate the third slice standing up outside. It was perfect! I brought my 8 year old son along, and he had a great time as well. Scott and Miriam made a special effort to involve him in all aspects of the tour. I can't recommend this highly enough, especially for first-timers to NYC - you will see, smell, hear, taste and appreciate far more of Little Italy than you would any other way! Also amazing value for your tourist dollar!!!

When planning our trip to NYC - I asked my teenage son if he had any special requests or "must sees." Beyond Miss Liberty and Ellis Island - his only request was to try some "New York pizza" -(we're from Minnesota.) This fit the bill perfectly! Little did we know there is so much to know. Scott filled 4.5 hours with lots of fun and was extremely flexible. We all had a great time.

We had the most amazing experience on Scott's Pizza Bus Tour! We luckily had Scott as our host and his outstanding knowledge of everything pizza was wonderful! The restaurants we went to were exceptional and I learned more than I ever thought I could about pies! We will most certainly be back again! Thanks Scott!

Every pizza lover should take this tour. In addition to the pizza tasting great at every stop, we learned so much about its history and the best ingredients and were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the kitchens. Scott is a super tour guide, and I highly recommend his tours.

Scott's Pizza Tour was a ton of fun! It is something different to do in New York City. You will definitely learn a lot about pizza. It is informative, fast-paced, and delicious!
