This place is a great way to inspire an addiction to pizza making especially if you live around the corner. Much better to drop in while being a tourist from far far away to avoid the desperate need to return the next day and buy all the kit necessary to make pizza at home. This place is great. Go there and you will have fun while enjoying the best pizza you'll ever make. |

this was not the first time i've done a cooking class, though it is the first time i've done one with seven coworkers... and it was a great success. (note: i did this exact class once before with a friend, and loved it just as much then!) mark and jenny are professional but casual, informative but interesting, creative but not crazy. i havent yet purchased my very own pizza stone or paddle with which to sling homemade pies around my apartment, but the fact that they made making dough from scratch un-scary is awesome! and i sort of want a pizza stone now! i brought my extra pizzas home with me -- no WAY could i eat them all that night, though i tried... -- and even after sharing some with the bartender who served my self-congratulatory you-just-made-PIZZA beers, i had plenty left over -- and my friends who benefited from my abundance of pizza agreed: this pizza was great! awesome class, excellent instructors... thank you thank you! |

We had a great time and it's really fun learning, cooking and tasting. Chef Mark Bello is a great host, very generous and excellent teacher. The atmosphere is very comfortable, very friendly and let you feel that mastering the making of pizza is very simple. Also his two assistants are awesome and very helpful. The time flew fast and after the class Mark tries to get to know you better and exchange ideas. I recommend the class and it's worth the time and the money. I still have to go back and buy some stuff. |

I received a gift certificate to the pizza making class as a wedding gift and decided to go with a friend. We had a really wonderful time and I was incredibly impressed by:
- Mark's knowledge and running of the class, particularly how he would take the time to explain why he recommended doing things a certain way and the pros and cons of other options, as well as how he's really down to earth about supermarket ingredients to use. Definitely a food geek (and pun lover) but never pretentious.
- the setup of the shop for class--it's not a very big space but it's really, really well thought out, with mini shelves underneath the working surface to keep your notes and papers safe, everything needed in small containers within reach, a staff member who whisks away dirty items almost magically, and the camera set up with a large TV screen mounted higher so that even people in the back can follow along with Mark's demonstrations of technique.
- the selection of ingredients available for making our pizzas (fresh and local items, fancier gourmet items, etc.)
- Jenny's management of two ovens with 4 stones for a class of 12 people, keeping it running smoothly, judging when the pizzas were done, calling you over when you needed to add an ingredient partway through
- the selection of items in their retail store portion, really everything you could need if you are starting from scratch
- how our pizzas turned out! I have made pizza and bread at home before and have never been able get my dough to rise and stretch that way.
Before attending the class, I wasn't sure that $150 for a 4-hour class on something I've done before would be good value but thought it sounded fun. Now, I can tell you it was both really fun and great value for the reasons I outlined above. |

My nephew visiting from Pittsburgh and I give two thumbs up to Mark Bello and his team, Jenny & Sam. This is the second time I've taken the class, so you could argue the rating should be six thumbs up, but you get the point. This class delivers everything it promises and more. I learned what I need to know to make pizzeria-quality pizzas with confidence. Mark not only gives you the instructions, but he provides invaluable tips about seeking out the right ingredients & gadgets and techniques for avoiding common mistakes and improving your ability to turn out consistently great pies. It really will amaze you that you'll be creating truly awesome pizza within 4 hours. In addition to the group instruction, Mark, plus Jenny and Sam, give you plenty of hands-on, one-on-one support. Beyond that, it's fun! Mark's a great storyteller, combining entertainment and a wealth of knowledge. Can't say enough great things about this experience. Delizioso! |

I took this class with my daughter and we both loved it. Mark and Jenny were great- so patient, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. We really learned alot. But if you are a casual pizza cook and just want to go have fun with friends, it is a great class too. The pizza we got to taste was so flavorful and different that it really opened my eyes to what you can do with pizza that is different than the norm. Worth every penny. |

Wow...the pear/banana/cinnamon/caramel pizza is just AWESOME. The pancetta and pepper pizza is tops too. There wasn't any pizza that wasn't good! We made an "Elvis" too...peanuts, bananas, and nutella. Had a ton of fun. |
