Really great experience

This was a lot of fun. The only recommendation I would say would be to make sure you have something to eat before you come. You don't eat for about 2 hours in which makes you very hungry The class is really great and you learn a lot. Plus, you walk out with at least 3 doughs you can use to make your own pizza at home. I went with my wife for her birthday (she loves pizza) and she had a great time. The class doesn't move extremely fast, and even if you miss something, everything is written down in a packet they give you to take home. Highly recommend

Pizza a Casa hits a Home Run

Pizza a Casa was an amazing experience! We like to cook and have occasionally made pizza at home, but are not huge cooking class people. This blew everything we've ever done before out of the water! Mark and Jenny were fantastic - so patient, helpful and informative! We ate all day long and left full, with 6 pizzas ans 3 doughs for use at a later time. I'd recommend this class, whether you're alone or as part of a larger group!

A New York City "Must Do"!

We visit NYC yearly at Christmas time and were looking for a "change of pace" from the usual tourist sites. We found Pizza a Casa on Trip Advisor. After reading all the great reviews, I signed my husband and I up for a Saturday afternoon class. It was so much fun! Mark and Jenny really know their pizza. Mark shared his knowledge/secrets of pizza crusts, cheeses, herbs, spices.....everything. I have NEVER made a homemade pizza ever. Mark reassured the class of 12 that by the end of the day we would be making great pizza, and he was right. Mark and Jenny made the whole experience a lively, fun activity. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

My husband and I, our adult son who loves to cook, and a friend who is a professional chef, took this class together on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. What a wonderful way to spend a day together. The shop is set up perfectly for cooking and visiting with the other guests- we all became fast friends. Mark is an excellent teacher with a charismatic personality so it is easy to follow instructions from him. We learned a lot about both technique and selecting ingredients. After watching Mark prepare pizza and then tasting it, we each made 4 pizzas of our own, I would highly recommend this class to anyone who loves pizza and loves to cook. It was one of our favorite things we did while in New York.

One of the best things we did in NYC

Our family of 4 pizza lovers from California (2 adults, a 16-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter) had a lot of fun and easily mastered the clear and helpful lessons in pizza-making. We went on with new confidence to experiment with flavor combinations that we would never have thought of on our own. It was very creative experience and fun to do as a family. The hours flew by! In all we made 16 delicious pizzas that night and finally left content and full at about 11 pm. We enjoyed the experience so much that we are using a photo of all of us with our pizzas for this year's Christmas card.

Fun Activity for the Family

To help celebrate mine and my husband's 20th anniversary, we took our two teenagers to the Pizza Making Workshop. It was a wonderful and informative activity to do with the family. Not only did we spend quality time together, but we learned a skill that we will be using for years to come! The only feedback that I would offer is this: being that there are about 11-12 people there, from all over the world, perhaps ( in our case, one family from California, one couple from England, one couple from Norway, I think, and us--from North Carolina), I would suggest that Mark start off by having each couple/family introduce themselves and tell a little bit about ourselves. Being that we all spent at least 4 hours together, it would have been nice to get to know one another a little better. As for Mark and his assistant: they were great! Very nice, and knowledgeable! We really enjoyed ourselves and our teenage daughters liked it a lot too!!!

Had so much fun! Mark and Jenny are so nice and patient. They have the class agenda planned out perfectly, down to the instruction guide and pizza menu. We were nervous about being there for 4 hours but we were having so much fun making our pizza creations I think we ended up staying even longer. We bought most of the "tools" we used in class. I use them all the time and actually enjoy the process of making pizza now. Highly recommended!
