We had a great time and it's really fun learning, cooking and tasting. Chef Mark Bello is a great host, very generous and excellent teacher. The atmosphere is very comfortable, very friendly and let you feel that mastering the making of pizza is very simple. Also his two assistants are awesome and very helpful. The time flew fast and after the class Mark tries to get to know you better and exchange ideas. I recommend the class and it's worth the time and the money. I still have to go back and buy some stuff.

Proves you can teach an old cook new tricks..

My husband thought it would be wasted money to go on this course, since I am an experienced advanced home cook who at times has baked pizza at home. However, my skills in pizza cooking are hit and miss: and I was pleasantly surprised at the depth in which Mark Belo addressed some of the steps in dough and topping assembling and the reasons where it can go wrong. This course not only provides a fun time in a pleasant learning environment, but really picks up on the secrets and tricks of pizza making at home. The literature that we were given, has detailed instructions to remind you of what may be forgotten in the heat of the moment (forgive the pun). I whole-heartedly recommend this course for beginners up to seasoned / even professional cooks alike.

Fun, yet informative and educational. Since being home, we've bought all fresh ingredients. Never realized just how much difference fresh mozzerella and various spices could make!!!

Taking the class at Pizza a Casa Pizza School was definately one of the best things we did on our US trip! On one hand it is so interesting and informative: you can learn pretty much everything about making Pizza from the crust to the toppings, the best ingredients, tools and techniques and so much more. On the other hand the workshop is pure fun and there is an awesome atmosphere in class! Both facts are of course due to Mark, the owner of Pizza a Casa, who dedicated his life to Pizza and Pizza making! He is so enthusiastic in this class and really a great "teacher". And everything is perfectly oragnized: every participant has his/her own space with all the needed tools, all ingredients are available enough for everybody, you don't have to care about cleaning up and there is even a tv displaying a live camera feed for those who are not in row 1. Oh, and drinks like water and coffee are supplied for the whole time for free. I can only recommend this class to everybody who likes Pizza (and who doesn't? ;-))! Take the chance to learn a lot about Pizza and to have a really great time!

Everyone has a hobby - pizza is mine

My wife gave me a surprise visit to New York just so I could attend this four hour class. At home, we make pizzas all the time with mixed results. I have more pizza books than I know what to do with. I've visited and tagged numerous websites for years now. I believe making a great pizza is like a golf swing, the subtle components from beginning to end influences the end result. Every now and then you achieve utopia... then quickly retrace your steps to remember every little detail to repeat again. The more you strive for success the more you tinker with it. If you tinker too much, you loose consistency and your foundation is shaken - finding it hard to get back to the basics. My swing has been off for a while now. Pizza A Casa has found a way... a niche... to compile the best practices, tools, and techniques into a workshop to make phenomenal pizza. For me, it was all about the crust. The class was fun and easy... very easy for all participants. The class was well structured with a laidback approach. The information shared was clearly presented and communicated with great handouts. All participants walked out of Pizza A Casa that day with the same skill set. Some people began the day as a fresh slate - eager to learn something new. Others had ten years of pizza making baggage to unload. We all made great pizza. More importantly, we all have the ability to consistently make great pizza at home. Mark has a terrific dough recipe that is foolproof or at least close to it. My wife and I made pizza last night... and well... nothing short of amazing. Mark's dough has become the foundation for all our pies. . What I enjoyed most was watching a guy who has found his niche in life. I venture few people get out of bed with the enthusiasm for work as he does. It cannot be easy to meet 10 + people and assess their knowledge/eagerness on a subject - then engage each person in the appropriate way. Job well done!! It goes without saying, I highly recommend this workshop.

Super fun hands-on cooking class

Super fun hands-on class on making pizza at home. Class seats about 8 people, and each person can make up to 4 pizzas each as Mark discusses the nuts and bolts and walks you through the process step by step. He and Jenni are obviously very passionate about what they do. And its infectious. Well worth the time and money. will definitely be going back for the pasta class. (and any other class they may start offering)
