Had a Great Time!

This was a good time had by all in our group-lots of laughs and good pizza from all of us! We learned a lot too! I have already made my pizza for friends who loved it. I would recomend it to anyone who wants to have a good time and to learn how to make pizza at home. My only negative was the timing- Half of us live in Westchester and the class was over late so it made for a long day but I would do it again!

If you like pizza, you will love this class. Directions are easy to follow, teachers are enthusiastic, pizza is delicious. Not sure what else to say, but my girlfriend and I had a fantastic time.

Highly recommended

I went into this class not knowing what to expect, but I came out with the knowledge and confidence to make awesome thin crust pizzas at home. Mark and Jenny were extremely kind and attentive with all the students. They answered all the questions everyone had and made sure no one was left behind. Every made at least 2 or 3 pies that night. It was a lot of fun and extremely informative. I'd highly recommend it for a date night, a corporate event, or even if you just want to learn to make pizza at home (like me)!

One of the best things I've done in NYC!

I'm really hoping that Mark offers additional classes in the future (Advanced Pizza-Making?), or I'm going to end up taking this one again! Seriously -- I've been in the city for over 8 years, and this Thursday-night pizza-making class makes my list of all-time favorite NYC experiences. I walked away with two (delicious) pizzas, dough for making two more, a wealth of knowledge, a couple new friends and an awesome party trick. Absolutely worth the money and then some....highly recommended.

Taking NYC with me

Having lived in the city for so long and approaching an upcoming move to the Midwest for medical school, I was mourning the loss of not being able to bite into the perfect crunch of a pie from NYC. Then an email sent out through Thrillist caught my attention, pizza making class? I was skeptical, could I really learn how to make the pizza I was going to miss so much? My boyfriend (who is Italian) was going to make the move from the East Coast to Michigan with me and he decreed, this class was not recreational, it was a NECESSITY to our pizza well being for the next 4 years being stranded away from what I consider the finest pizza mecca outside of Italy of course. After taking Mark's class, I have to say, this is was the best cooking/foodie class I've ever taken, hands down (patting my dough into round circles to be stretched out of course). I had so much fun and I just made pizza in Michigan last night and my family loved it. They had actually missed NYC pizza so much they asked me to bring a pie back from Michigan from NY even if it was cold and soggy but I gave them something ever better, fresh pizza out of their own oven! Mark is soooo much fun as a teacher. At the end of our class, he turned on the disco ball, pumped up the music and we were dancing and rocking away making our pizzas. Best money I've spent on anything food related, this even beats out my Le Crueset purchase (which is saying a lot).

Mark's incredible knowledge of the subject and exquisite attention to detail made the class fascinating. My wife and I are both very competent cooks, and we learned a ton from Mark.

took class with my 11 years old daughter, LOVED it

As the heading describes, I took the class with my 11 years old daughter, who cooks a lot with me and and on her own as well, so she is probably more experienced than the average kid her age. I didn't want to sign up for the kids class as I thought that starting at 5 it maybe geared for younger children and too easy given her experience. But I was a bit concerned she get bored in an adult class. Well... we both absolutely LOVED it!!!! I am italian and cook a lot, and although I was mostly familiar with all the ingredients he described (key to a good pizza!) I still learned so much. Lots of tips and tricks that took years to perfect!!! Mark's dough recipe is great, his instructions on how to knead it very clear, and all of us made delicious pizza on our first try! Both he and Jenny couldn't have been more pleasant and easy going, truly happy to share what they know! Mark was genuinely happy and interested in answering all sort of questions, from whole wheat or organic flour to optional toppings. They were both very helpful in checking everyone's process step-by-step and correcting us when necessary. Between the two of us, we walked home with a couple of pies for lunch the next day and 4 containers of dough that we could freeze for future use! All and all, a great class, fun but instructional at the same time! We're looking forward to make pizza at home a lot more, and experiment with toppings!!! THANK YOU!!!
