I'm slightly biased, as Mark is a friend of a friend, but this class is fantastic. It turns out that my wife and I were making every possible mistake when it came to pizza dough. The class is well-organized, well-run, very tasty, super professional and well worth the money.

A New York City "Must Do"!

We visit NYC yearly at Christmas time and were looking for a "change of pace" from the usual tourist sites. We found Pizza a Casa on Trip Advisor. After reading all the great reviews, I signed my husband and I up for a Saturday afternoon class. It was so much fun! Mark and Jenny really know their pizza. Mark shared his knowledge/secrets of pizza crusts, cheeses, herbs, spices.....everything. I have NEVER made a homemade pizza ever. Mark reassured the class of 12 that by the end of the day we would be making great pizza, and he was right. Mark and Jenny made the whole experience a lively, fun activity. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

If you love pizza then this is definitely worth taking the time to do. You learn not only how to make pizza, but a lot about the ingredients that go into making a great tasting pizza. And, you get to eat some delicious pizza during the workshop too.

Despite being a completely novice cook, I managed to make 4 tasty pies. Mark and Jenny were very patient and friendly. Their simple, to-the-point tips made sure I came away having learned to create great pizzas.

I went to the pizza making class with a friend of mine. My friend has some cooking experience and I have very little. We both had a great time! The instruction was interesting and helpful and by the end of the class even I was making my own pizza! It was delicious and between the instruction received and the handout, I feel like I could definitely make pizza at home now!

One of my favorite NYC experiences

My husband and I attended the class and both really enjoyed it. The space is fun and cozy, bringing the class together even if the participants are strangers. It's tempting to eat before class with the Hester Street Fair and the Donut Plant so close but don't. You will be eating lots of pizza as you and your classmates experiment with the many options available. You'll want to sample everything, and you need to save room. They provide an array of quality ingredients. Our class even included a cheese I had been trying to find for months and huitlacoche. The instructor and his assistant are great - friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and able to anticipate your questions and need for assistance. Best of all, the skills you learn really do translate to your home. I really appreciated all of the time they put in to figuring out how to make the best possible pizza using a typical home oven and ingredients that you can find in most grocery stores. They also have a well-curated store where you can buy pizza making tools and some of the ingredients that you'll try out.
