Randy's Fishing and Whale Watching Trips, is a small family business that was established in 1949 by Salvatore (Randy) Randazzo. Randy encouraged fun, affordable, family oriented recreation with dedicated attention to honesty and satisfying his guest’s desire, a tradition that has endured 50 years.
Our captains have been examined, certified competent and issued a Master License by the United States Coast Guard and have been operating vessels to carry "Passengers for Hire" throughout the course of the last 20+ years.
Their expertise and ability to operate a vessel is exceptional.

Cod is a common name for nearly 60 species of valuable food fishes, including “Red Snapper” and Ling Cod. This trip is perfect as a family outing or just as a relaxing day on the bay.
Our vessels are clean, dependable, constantly maintained and operated by highly qualified personnel to ensure a safe and fun excursion.
During the 4-8 hour trip, you will enjoy:
- An opportunity to catch up to 10 Rock Cod and 2 Ling Cod
- A traditional, relaxing fishery
- A chance to catch fish for a great meal
- Assistance from highly qualified crew members
- A trip to the best Cod fishing spots in Monterey Bay
Note Please Read: We must always on every trip abide by Fish and Game Rules and Regulations! There is no 'sorting of fish.' We can not and will not allow throwing back of fish so that a larger one may 'possibly' be caught. What you catch is what you get!
The length of each trip depends heavily upon the "bite" and can range from 4 hours to 8 hours. Additionally, the trip will end if all participants have already caught their limit of fish; if everyone catches their limit early, we will return early.
So climb aboard and experience an adventure that will leave you with wonderful memories and exciting tales!
What Is Not Included?
Fishing equipment, licenses, and fish cleaning services are not included; they can be rented/purchased at the shop prior to departure. A complete equipment package with license will cost $32 per fisherman. Fish cleaning will be approximately $10 per fish limit.
Please note that anyone 16 years of age or older (and who is fishing on the trip) is required to have a fishing license in their possession before getting on the boat. If you do not have one, we have one-day licenses and annual licenses available in the shop that can be purchased prior to departure.
