Cod Fishing Trip

Great skipper, great crew. Informative, helpful.

Had A great time fishing with my 17 year old son , caught full limt of rock fish with the help of deck hand Josh who made sure everyone was informed of regs and caught full limit of fish.He also did a great job cleaning the fish. Monteray is a great place to bring family with the aquarium ,cannery row and fishermans warf all of the restaurants were outstanding clean and friendly.

it was a 6 hour barf fest - sea sick the entire time and didn't catch any fish. if i had known the seas were going to be 7-8 ft i would never have climbed on board. but to their credit, I didn't ask so i can't really blame them. I just wish they would tell people up front. more than half the passengers were as sick as I was. what fun. this is my 3rd lousy party boat experience - Texas California, and Alaska. I'm through

It was fun. I caught my limit. We saw whales, sea lions and a beautiful coastline along the way. The captain and the mate were helpful. However, my kids were both sick the whole time due to motion sickness. Fortunately there was enough room for them to lie down on the cushioned benches.

The sales rep at the counter beliittled me in front of all the employees and customers that were present because i did not print out the tickets. He then threatened to not let my partners and I on the boat but quickly reversed himself, as if he was trying to aggrivate me. He also tried to charge me twice and said he had to call in to confirm that i had paid using zerve. A min later he looks through a list and verify's my partys tickes, again i feel he was trying to add adittional aggrevation. The whole time checking he would not stop telling me how i could not follow directions and how i need to learn how to read them and follow them. The fishing trip was worse, the boat did not even go more than 20 min out. The captain was not helpful at all and no one in my party caught a single fish. The captain did not perform his duties to full potential, a supermajority of the boat did not catch fish. Two hours into the dreadful trip a passenger had an emergency and we had to return back to the docks, lucky we were only 10 min outs. About 70%-80% of the boat members were so upset they decided to get off there also. For my party it was a few first time being out there so when the captian announced he was going back out there we all agreed to go also. But we go back to the same freakn spot were there are no fish. Even after several complaints and requests the captain would not move. It seemed like everyone just took a nap till we came back to port. Again no one caught a single fish. My party and I usually take this trip at least 3 times a year so we know the potential and how it should be. The trip was ruined and no one was happy, and unless we get a refund, free pass or atleast a discount on our next trip, which is to be in sept., we will look else where for services.

This was our second rock fishing trip with Randys, and we were successful again. The water was rough in the morning, but that is how it is. We all got our limit, and we will return again.

The crew was very helpful and the boat was in great shape. The only bad note is that when I called prior to the trip I was told that $18 covered the pole, tackle, and sack. When we got to Randy's this was not the case, each was charged seperately. And when we wer told that our parking was validated we assumed we could park for free. Upon exiting the parking lot we has to pay $5 with our validated ticket. But all in all we had a great time and would go again.

The process to arrange the fishing trip was very efficient and professional. Randy's establishment was clean and easy to access. The Captain did a good job in finding the schools of fish and the Mate did a fabulous job in assisting the fisher-men and -women. Be sure to tip the Mate good!

This was great trip took my son for his birthday we had a great time and limited out. Jason the deck hand was first rate and so was the captain. They had great equipment and took care of everything. Looking forward to my next trip!
