| My kids and I had a great time together eventhough the fishing was poor. This fishing area has been over fished and there are only the few very little fish left. There were 3 boats that departed from the same location we did and there must have been others from other locations. Overall to many boats have over fished the bay. |

| We read one bad review that had us wondering how our experience would be, so we went in a day early to check things out. This was our first time there. The woman was very helpful and friendly. She advised us to arrive at 0630. The next morning we went at 0615 to relax and have coffee. Seems like we were some of the last people to arrive. This makes a difference, because the only place to set up was on the bow of the boat. The other places were taken. Considering the type of fishing we were doing it really didn't make a difference, except if you get sea sick, because the bow moves a lot more. Guess that's why the restrooms are up front.
There were two deck hands that day and when approached, were very helpful and friendly. Oh... the dog (one of the deck hands dog) on our trip was also friendly and we enjoyed his company also. I think that a little more explanation of the event should be explained (especially to first timers) before departure, such as how to set up, how to reel in your fish, how the day will go, etc......We both caught our limit, even though the fish were really small. I took a few pictures, but I was so sea sick that I just couldn't take very many. The wife seemed ok though. We concentrated on catching fish.
I might ad that the captain, did an exceptional job to get us to the fish. In my opinion this is an experience that we will remember for a long time. We highly recommend Randy's. The website just about tells you all you need to know to make a decision about which service to use. To all at Randy's - We Thank You |

| The crew was very helpful and the boat was in great shape.
The only bad note is that when I called prior to the trip I was told that $18 covered the pole, tackle, and sack. When we got to Randy's this was not the case, each was charged seperately. And when we wer told that our parking was validated we assumed we could park for free. Upon exiting the parking lot we has to pay $5 with our validated ticket. But all in all we had a great time and would go again. |

| The overall trip was good but seas were very rough. Nothing Randy's could do about that. The fish were all small. Nothing Randy's could do about that. This was an annual birthday fishing trip for my yougest son [18] and was the 8th trip to Montery. The deck hand was very good and helped out the non-fisherman with ease and was alot of fun even though he would not make good tips because of all the sick people on board - 30 plus out of 40 plus. The cost of $67.00 is too much. Chris' is only $60.00 but he was booked up the week before for the day we chose. I paid for 5 so the extra $7.00 does add up. Also the fishing rigups were too costly. |

| Randy didn't show.
Instead, he combined trips with his competitor Chris.
Theferore the review is for Chris.
The Captain and his crew were gracious, helpful and competent.
We all caught limits and were very well pleased. |

| For the 2nd time we were disappointed in Randy's. Last year we had a whale watching trip cancelled at the last minute after we drove 160 miles and arrived at the dock. This year my two grandsons and I were booked a cod fishing trip that when we arrived at the dock at 6:30am discovered that they had chartered the boat to a large group and we were left 'in the cold'. There was no one at the office, no notice before driving the 160 miles to the dock (email!!), no notice at the dock. A kind bystander mentioned that they were a part of the charter and maybe we should go to Chris's Fishing Trips because he thought they were taking Randy's customers booked on the cod trip. So at the last minute we got on Chris's boat.....at least my two grandsons were not disappointed. Do yourself a favor.....book with Chris's.......had a great fishing trip with them! |
