| This was definitely one of the most memorable fishing trips I've been on. Regardless of being soaked to the bone (mostly because I didn't watch the weather channel) I enjoyed the fishing experience. The quality of fish is prime and the skill level required to catch them isn't much so this would be a good trip for kids. If you're a fisherman that doesn't mind the elements, then this is a must. Again if you're planning on bringing kids then you should check up on the weather because it can get rough the further south you go (worst weather was by Big Sur because of a storm that was blowing in). Deck hands are really on the ball and the captain definitely knows where to find them. At the time I'd reccomend Randy's over anyting in Santa Cruz. The fish aren't biting there due to the ater being too cold so monterey is your best bet for rock cod. |

| My 12 year old son and I took a half-day trip with Randy's and loved it. Well managed and fun all around. Highly recommend Dramamine for all, but great. |

| We were a group of 7 (3 cousins and 4 friends). We had a blast. Caught the limmit despite some technical difficulties with the gear (of our own doing of course lol). The deckhand was great about everything and especially quick to get our gear working again. I like the fact that we were able to bring our own beer and grub on board and there wasn't a laundry list of do's and don'ts (no doubt there is but all the passengers were extremely well behaved so that always helps). Very professional staff that didn't treat you like an idiot even if sometimes we didn't know what we were doing. And most importantly we were allowed to smoke cigarettes on board. The $10 to clean the fish did not feel like a rippoff and was well worth it. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.
PS. To the guy that made the comment about the deckhand before the trip started, what the hell are you talking about? He was a good guy all the way around. |

| Everyone caught their limit. Weather was great, the tour guides gave us the inside track. No ling-cods but the rock-cods were all keepers. |

| Walked into the office, gave Pete the Zserve tickets, rented rods and lures and boarded the boat. Took off to Pt Sur and caught some tasty Rock Fish. The only thing I noticed was now when you break off and loose your gear, they make you pay 5 for a new rig, guess thats the new economy. |

| After getting off to a late start, the captain took us about 2 hours south to some great fishing where I caught 7 large rockfish in the first 15 minutes. Afetr repositioning the boat, I had my limit in another 15 minutes. After a total of 2 hours fishing, all had their limits and I'm sure that takes great local knowledge and skill. But we seemed rushed by the captain to head back and there were a few of us who would have preferred to go deep for som ling after the 7th or 8th fish. We were prompted to finish up and get going and finished our limits in shallower water with smaller fish. Would I go again? You betcha! |

| We arrived on time and was treated with great service at the counter. I have previously been on this trip in years past as this was a trip i took my father on around Father's day in June. Since my Father's passing i resumed to take my son on this trip and brought a bunch of friends along for the trip. The trip out to sea was not bad my only question was in previous trips I believe we drove farther south along the coast towards point Sur. This trip we didn't and its just my guess as to why not many fish caught on trip as previous years but could be due to overfished seas. But all in all it was a good experience that I would reccommend to others. |

| paid for cod fishing trip but something happened from 3pm the day before and the morning of .we showed up on the morning of and it seemed something changed .person at the check in area said do you want to go halibit fishing also?
then it cost me 20.00 dollars for halibit rigs and weights /.when we did go cod fishing as what we paid for it was too late in the day the winds were up .And I dont think we went out far enough to catch any good size fish all very small. and this was my 17th trip in 5 years. maybe gas cost to much? |
