Randy’s Photo Expeditions can help you get that photo! We are now catering to the photo enthusiast from the hobbyist to the professional. On our trips we have a professional photographer with years of experience on the Monterey Bay along with expertly trained crew helping you get “the shot” for fun or for your portfolio.

Activity Description
Have you ever had great shots ruined by horrible lighting? We do our best to make sure that this does not happen on our trips as we limit the passengers on our trips so everyone has “their” spot and the photographer assists with the lighting needs. We welcome photographers of all levels!
Get to know some of the most unique creatures of the area! The most popular Pinniped species are the California sea lion, the Steller sea lion, the Northern fur seal, the Northern elephant seal, and the Pacific harbor seal.
Start your trip by heading out onto the wharf, accompanied by one of our professional photographers. On this photo expedition, you'll:
- Experience a unique photo session as a small group of harbor seals haul out on the rocks! (about 20-30 minutes)
- Head out into the harbor for the opportunity to photograph sea lions and otters
- Take advantage of a variety of lighting and compositions
- Take photos of boats and a variety of birds. Sea birds often present (depending on season) include a variety of Gulls, Pelicans, Surf Scoters, Egrets, Cormorants and King Fishers, just to name a few!
All expeditions are led by professional photographers, who assist the captains by helping to keep the best scenery and lighting available for your shot.
Our vessels are up to 60 feet, leaving a lot of area to cover. The captain and crew will do their best to get you great shots of the sunrise and sunset and hopefully have some animal interactions!
What Is Not Included?
Cameras are not provided. You must bring your own camera.
